thinking about going next year (from scotland) and we have gone to kendal past couple years. is it a similar festival in things to do and the usual headliners? or is there a better lineup in terms of not the usual suspects?

fair play to @KJP98 for the tip yesterday, took the sting out of the announcement for me today 😂 not gonna lie i’m quite underwhelmed. was looking forward to johnny marr, primal scream and foals the most but obviously all not playing now. praying for johnny marr for the second wave announcement but can’t see it. saying that i do think the dance tent/stage lineup is pretty good, think i’ll just spend my weekend there 😉

The Streets, Stereophonics , Supergrass , Dizzee Rascal as headliners - I sincerely hope that's wrong as I'll be in bed by 9pm every night.
With Royal Blood/Sam Fender doing the rounds I thought if they were replacing Foals it would be with someone more current than The Streets - rather have seen DMA's/Blossoms pushed up to headliner status.
Strange they got rid of Foals out of the four (if it's true) as they are active and they're the only ones still releasing relevant music.
I still find Supergrass to be a strange booking for what seems to be most of the festivals, they must have a great agent - can't seem to find anyone who cares about them especially as headliners, think they'll go down like a balloon with the younger audience.
Is that the latest rumour for the headliners? would be underwhelmed if it was 😫

Wondering if Kendal Calling will go ahead this year. After todays Leeds & Reading Announcement what are peoples feelings? I thinking yes it will but I'm an optimist !
I’m gonna say yes. The dates seem to be in a good spot for it to go ahead. Saying that i’ll do anything to give myself hope for it 😁

Yeah I agree actually, never seen Foals before and got very high hopes for them finishing Kendal. Hoping they book another dance headliner this time round, Groove Armada or Leftfield on the Thursday would be class

Taking it Kendal will wait till after the new year to announce the lineup. Any headliner changes or think it’ll be kept more or less the same?

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott for the Thursday night headliner
great shout that, can definitely see that happening

By any chance could this Dundee festival be the return of carnival fifty-six or whatever it was called? I remember it was around for a year or two and they decided to take a break for last year but it never came back. Could be shaping up for a return next year

Its Taylor swift + Lewis Capaldi 100% - source King Tuts employee
Capaldi also doing a last min gig at Tuts
any news of the third headliner?

Heard a lot of rumours Ian Brown is back next year and is nailed on for the likes of tramlines and neighbourhood weekender. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him make an appearance at kendal as well
-
have an odd feeling that LG or catfish are nailed on for next year
-
Really hope you’re right ?

Looks like we should be expecting an announcement very soon for next year. Who does everyone fancy? Would love Foals to do a night

Noely G has announced the “first” of his 2020 dates next year. maybe a possibility?
-
Kasabian just announcing they are doing their Solstice again in Leicester next year and have said it’s their only UK show for 2020, so that’s them ruled out. Thought they were going to be nailed on for next year tbh
-
Blossoms surely will be there after announcing the third album. Can see them being high up the main stage
-
Putting my money on chemical brothers to headline a night. just have an odd feeling about it ?
Elbow or stereophonics seem good shouts as well

Anyone pulled out the calendar yet to see if Taylor Swift's a possibility?
Yep, I think she has a pretty good chance of doing it. Lines up perfectly with the weekend. Can see her headlining one night with Dua Lipa supporting or something along those lines

@Mezhyp1 heard anything on the lineup yet? any big names floating about ?

Headliners need hits and my opinion is Foals don’t have enough to satisfy a Kendal crowd .
Could easily see chemicals there defo, think it’s time Blossoms played the main stage but not headline.
Yeah I agree with Foals not having enough hits, as much as I would love them to be there you’re probably right.
I did actually think about Blossoms making an appearance as well. Would it be a wise shout to say Stereophonics? Ive seen them on the lineup headlining quite a few times so i’m taking it they have a loyal crowd at the festival.
Feel like Slaves will be there as well, would love to see them headline the calling out one night!

Gonna go with Leftfield as the Thursday night headliners.
Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, Jamie T and Noel Gallagher as weekend headliners.
Cant see Noel Gallagher AND Jamie T being both booked but i can dream.
