  1. METALLICA / Ghost / Trivium Sabaton / Behemoth Bowling For Soup Perturbator _____ RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE / Architects / Run The Jewels Bullet For My Valentine / Fever 333 Corey Taylor Dimmu Borgir _____ SYSTEM OF A DOWN / Five Finger Death Punch / Gojira Slash / Rival Sons While She Sleeps Municipal Waste
  2. Ghost are back on the road in january. I believe they will sub in 2023 and headline a few years later
  3. there was some finsbury park gigs too like QOTSA with Iggy Pop and Run The Jewels in 2018. i'm thinking Metallica will end up playing at some park in London with acts like A7X and FFDP in a new festival that will soon disappear in 2023
  4. Metallica are so huge that live nation is creating new festivals in Germany and Swtizerland just to have them playing because they want to do an all festival tour. Maybe a new one day festival will pop up in UK next year
  5. System Of A Down, Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica for me. i think MCR will do Reading first
  6. the rumour since the end of 2020 was that Metallica would be doing end june/early july festivals (Werchter, Hellfest 2) in 2022 and comeback the following year to do another round of festivals, maybe Rock Am Ring/Im Park, Nova Rock, Download and Graspop
  7. it's unbeliavable that the three most hyped UK metal bands of the last decade (BMTH, Architects and While She Sleeps) haven't played at UK biggest rock festival in almost a decade
  8. this lineup improved a lot since 2020. weird to see volbeat not headlining tho
  9. thinking about a festival in the style of Rock Am Ring who could appeal to old R&L (2003-2015) crowd and a Download crowd. let's imagine a festival like that with bands that are around next year Friday Mainstage East: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE / Placebo / IDLES / Gary Clark Jr. Mainstage West: BRING ME THE HORIZON / Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes / Mudvayne / While She Sleeps ____ Saturday Mainstage East: AVENGED SEVENFOLD / Five Finger Death Punch / Megadeth / Ministry Mainstage West: TWENTY ONE PILOTS / Pendulum / Rise Against / Refused ___ Sunday Mainstage East: METALLICA / Judas Priest / Sabaton / Avatar Mainstage West: ROYAL BLOOD / Wolf Alice / Puscifer / Ghostemane clash between two mainstages
  10. rock am ring spread the bands across two main stages apart from each other, it's not like they have the 1975 and behemoth on the same stage
  11. Machine Head could be headlining metal-oriented festivals like Hellfest and Graspop, and have 2nd stage headliner spots at festivals like Download and Rock Am Ring and most of all they could be playing in arenas right now with a bunch of good support bands
  12. Machine Head's decision to do "an evening" forever is very egocentric for me. not even huge bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden did it. don't see why they refuse to even have an opening act, it's okay for me to no play at a festival/gig if they are not the headliner anymore, but don't see why to not play with other bands at all
  13. METALLICA / Ghost / Trivium Sabaton ___ RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE / Architects / Run The Jewels Slash ___ SLIPKNOT / Gojira / Bullet For My Valentine Frank Carter
  14. i still think of sonisphere lineups way more diverse than download, at least the last 5 years download
  15. Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Judas Priest, Bring Me The Horizon, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, The Offspring, Ministry, Opeth, Bad Religion just to name a few.
  16. i disagree. in sonisphere we had bands as NIN, Weezer, The Mars Volta, Gary Numan that never played download, bands like Sum41 that haven't played in download by the time they played at soni and Biffy that headlined there first than download the problem with Sonisphere was the dependency of Metallica and Iron Maiden as headliners
  17. spiritbox should be bumped to mainstage. they are getting bigger and bigger
  18. this line-up keeps getting weaker every year. could Mudvayne be the missing spot on friday? they were on the first leaked hellfest lineup
  19. KISS / Five Finger Death Punch / While She Sleeps Megadeth / The Distillers _____ IRON MAIDEN / Deftones / Mastodon Killswitch Engage / Opeth ____ BIFFY CLYRO / Korn / Volbeat Steel Panther / The Darkness
  20. i reckon Frank Carter and Gojira won't be there. Frank posted something about playing R&L and already played the pilot. Gojira isn't playing any festival from 2020-21 anymore
  21. with recent examples of Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo i say that one of the 2023 headliners is maybe playing in a club right now anyway: The Killers / Queens Of The Stone Age Billie Eilish / Twenty One Pilots My Chemical Romance / YUNGBLUD
  22. i'm thinking more about a Sonisphere lineup (bands like Biffy and Weezer mixed with Slipknot and Motörhead) than a festival who mixs dark fruits indie + soundcloud rappers with heavy bands. think about something like Rock Am Ring that in 2019 had bands like Cage The Elephant and Foals with Behemoth and Arch Enemy on the same day
  23. american festivals are kinda weak for me but i always loved Riot lineups
  24. Don't know where to post it but after 2021 R&L fests and everyone saying that these festivals are not for rock bands anymore, and considering the huge amount of acts that are touring Europe next year and not playing Download, maybe isn't time to a major UK Rock festival to return? Not necessarily a Sonisphere return but something to co-exist with Download. Maybe with acts that normally would be considered "too soft" for DL and that no longer fit Reading/Leeds audience like Queens Of The Stone Age and Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with huge metal acts
