If the Polish guy is right, then we'll might have something like Kings of Leon - Calvin Harris - Shawn Mendes - Eminem - Tiesto - Katy Perry - Bon Iver.

I'd go for Eminem alone. The point It is not that I'd rather not watch the other names, but that I would straight avoid the rest of them.

Really poor bookings and weak headliners. The big popstar image already failed in 2015, just get over it and get some barely-critical acclaimed, that's not the Super Bowl half-time; Bon Iver Is kinda poor as a festival headliner and that came from almost anybody who went to see them last time, and KoL are a huge meh everytime they are called at a festival... Can't really see anybody excited about them since ages.

Which leaves Tiesto who I know absolutely nothing about. I assume he'll just be another Garrix-type act?

Sadly yes... Back in the day he was a Trance-music legend and in that era he would have been a cool booking. Now he just turned to the Classic EDM big room thing and from time to time plays some trance mix, but just for a few minutes in an entire set.

I never told you she would be announced today, she's headlining on 11 July.

Guess they have to wait until they get closer to her new album's release date.

If you care about having some credibility now on in this forum, I'd drop some concrete info, because right now you are as good as So Sad Simon and this looks like just buying time to perpetrate a straight-up trolling.

I have all the interest in believing you but, I'm sorry to say that right now all the odds are against you, from unusual headliners (I mean, not unusual as Selena Gomez at least) to this Dua Lipa thing.

    It isn’t Rammstein.

    Dua Lipa - Balaton Sound

Female headliner is a bit older than Lizzo.

Nevermind, Dua Lipa is not at Balaton - you are not legit.

Anyway, no DJ Snake, just announced at Balaton (EDIT: also, thanks God)

Foals are not headlining, only Eminem and Shawn Mendes are.

Meaning that from the list below all the names but the two you mentioned are wrong?

Shawn mendez - Armin van Buuren - Lana Del Rey - Foals/???? - DJ Snake - Eminem - The Chemical Brothers

    You think they would headline?

They are playing at mad cool festival on a 3rd day and they are not really that up on the poster 🤷‍♂️

No, she definetely would not, probably not even Main Stage.

    48 minutes ago, FestivalJamie said:

god that would be a terrible booking

Not so terrible actually... being a one-hit wonder, she is actually pretty decent live compared to others

That's a perfect example of what I said : YES, Eminem is more likely days after days.

"Clues" just given ( M&ms, the zorro emoji which is Eminem's "without me" clothes, ..) are just 'confirmation' that he is talking about him. Wouah, big surprise... I don't call this a "leak". Sorry dude I don't say that to be mean, just realistic and very "careful" with people who say " I know leaks ! I know leaks ! but I won't tell ! " ... 🥱

But he is literally the only sure leaker we have ffs

  7. 4 minutes ago, eyebrain said:

If the leaker is telling the truth, Chemical Brothers could easily be the second EDM headliner. Would happily take them and the festival does have history with Chems.

If the leaker is true, first I'm gonna hug him with the warmest hug ever, than I'm gonna slap him for saying that Chems are EDM.

Anyway, can we read anything in this Lowland's announcement?

This forum is heating up rn 😂

Haven't been so hungry in a while!

    To recap:

    Eminem - Shawn Mendes - EDM Name - EDM Name - Female Headliner - x - x

Female Headliner is not Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Shakira or Lady Gaga and she is older than Lizzo, that rules out Taylor Swift, too.

We have Foals and Foster the People, we do not have Liam G and Royal Blood.

    Did I get it right?

I mean, if Foals and Eminem are playing closely in days that is an easy 3-days ticket for me

  11. Might be a little of a pain in the butt buuuuuut: anybody willing to make a mega-recap of what are the talked names (headliners and non-headliners), now that we have a bigger (yet blurry) picture of the august scene?

I usually opt to do this myself, but this time I am really busy and can't do...

    Thanks ❤️

I think RW can do without them. I'll surely do

They can, but the fact that the every venue that starts selling tickets for their show is going instant sold out should send a loud and clear message.

Not come from anywhere, it's just me speculating on a few things.

Sziget gave Dua Lipa her first major headline slot so I'm guessing the festival holds a special place in her heart.

She's active at the moment - she has a new song out today and her second album comes out at the beginning of April.

She's touring Europe throughout May and June - playing twelve countries but not Hungary.

Just thought, if Sziget were struggling for headliners, that she might be a quick and easy win for them. Whereas the Monkeys (as much as I would prefer them over Dua Lipa) don't appear to be active in touring or releasing new material at all.

All speculation in light of no January announcement, probably completely wrong.

Speculation is linearly correct, but I have to say that having Dua Lipa and LG headlining gives me that bitter taste of Kasabian - Major Lazer promoted to headliners in 2017 while sub-headlining 2015's edition. And we all remember how 2017 turnt out to be.

In case this turns to be a weak edition, this would break the unspoken rule that says that Sziget receives better lineups in even years.

Its a balance though - RHCP would definitely sell the most tickets but they would also cost a lot more than The Strokes and a fair bit more than the Killers. I reckon the Killers are all round the best pick for value - just maybe not this year with their UK tour dates.

Not really sure about this, instead I believe that among the three, The Strokes are the more expensive.

    What about Massive Attack 😎

LMAO After 2018 debacle I still have PTSD thinking about that night. I'm up to say I'd love to see them anywhere but at MC.

Something like All Points East where every other stage stops for the headliner probably suits them (Massive Attack) better.

Sad but true. That or putting them on the last slot of the main stage one night, but I don't think it would work out decently anyway

I know, but last year they announced on april cause a headliner droppped and they filled with PoR. Yep, you are right, but just expect 5 or 6 acts more on wednesday... idk, this just doesnt smell good. I hope everything ends well

It depends on how many stages they have this year: if 7 like 2018, there will be many more names, if 6 like 2019 I think we are missing no more than 5-8 relevant names - included the headliners.

Fact is that if they are using 6 stages, the situation turns odd, as they would put some not-so-irrilevant band in the last stages with 40 minutes slots, which would be kind of unusual.

It's definitely not the same as Europe! I'd say that I prefer smaller European festivals (Bilbao, Best Kept Secret etc.) to the bigger ones here.

But I had fun last year there... I was a volunteer so I didn't pay a cent yetmanaged to see my favorite bands ;)

That's because you are a good guy! Still looking forward to see you irl bro, have fun over there!

If there is indeed an announcement today, then it might be logical to have it a bit late IF and only if Eminem and/or RHCP are in the mix and they might want to attract more Americans on the Island of Freedom. 5 PM Hungarian time (CET) is 11 AM in New York and 8 AM in California.

No way they gonna make such big announcement without teasing, especially with Eminem with no european dates.

The bigger headliners are always teased (Robbie Williams, Rihanna, Arctic Monkeys, Ed Sheeran... even bloody Kasabian in 2017). Don't keep your hopes high, toady nothing will happen.

Guns n Roses announcing a date for Glasgow Green later on today (info from work). Could they possibly be the final headliner? They're signed up with Live Nation, would pull a huge crowd, we know Mad Cool have the money for them and it seems they're open to playing festivals (Pinkpop). They don't have a Madrid date on their tour and we know they're in Europe till end of June at least (Dublin 27th June). Can anyone give some argument against them?

If they actually wasted both The Strokes and My Chemical Romance cards, I guess they could go for them as a solo headliner (like PJ in 18). I mean, why not?

I guess it depends on them deciding to have a heritage act or something more mainstream. So far we can't really say, as the day is between Faith No More and Billie Eilish, so you can lean towards both the options without breaking the "storytelling" of the day - not that Mad Cool really cares about this element

    14 minutes ago, Dales said:

I could see them playing a late night slot but I doubt they would be picked as headliners. At the same time they are a little big to be second line. I would be happy to see them added but I can not really see them as a headliner for MC. Plus, I am seeing them at APE.  With the 3D show, I would imagine that every performance is a carbon copy and there would be little or no difference from one show to another.

What about the closing electro-spot on the main stages (i.e Chemical Bros; Major Lazer; Bloody Beetroots...)?

Post has been deleted. Makes it more interesting or less interesting? 😋

None? I could create a fake account and push names at random and you all would be questioning if that is some Dan Panaitescu's ghost or what releasing confidential info about the fest.

We all have an idea about what the pool from which they get the smaller names will be, take an handful of these and put with some big names, more or less hyped in Sziget's circuit, and you will get a prediction...

I mean, Tom Walker, Foals, Khalid and OMaM are already highy favored to be in the lineup; to these you add the name that has been hyped the most in the last 4-5 years and two random names and there you have a new Sziget-version of the Oracle of Omaha... Am I the only one that starts to notice that this collective hysteria due to them not releasing the lineup is possibly leading to a troll bait?
