Tbf Rob Harvey also writes for Joel Corry!
Though there are also some co-written songs with members from Hurts, Courteeners and DMA'S on the album, 'Silver Tongues' in particular sounds just like something that Courteeners would release.Who from Courteeners and DMAs have writing credits? I saw Theo Hutchcraft from Hurts helped write some

Interesting. I actually think that given Louis Tomlinson has spoken of a love of Oasis and booked festivals in Spain featuring acts like The Vaccines and Carl Barat, I would've thought his sonic reference points weren't a million miles away from a section of R&L's crowd.
I think he also set up some sort of organisation to support grassroots bands. I don't remember the exact details of it, but I'm sure it's out there.
His new album also has songs on it written alongside Rob Harvey from The Music/The Streets/Kasabian

I used to be on the download festival board in about 03-04. Dunno if it’s still up and running
I doubt it. To be honest, I don't think there are a great deal of forums in general now compared to say 10 years ago, now that Reddit has managed to shake it's reputation of being just for internet nerds. Everything is just on there.

I'm a casual user of this forum. I come on every few days and catch up, then post every so often. I really like it here. I have been on here for maybe 10 years, and this is the second account I've used. I was very active on my old account when I was younger and liked posting a lot more (and was way more opinionated.) I ended up asking for my old account to be shut down, after becoming victim to some trolls. I was sent death threats to my personal social media accounts, and somebody tried to hit me and my mum at a concert, so I completely sympathise with Neil when it comes to wanting rid of the trolls.
However, this seems to have had a wide effect on a number of seemingly innocent people.
Neil, I don't know whether you care about my opinion, but I think the forum would benefit from a team of mods. There's plenty of people on this forum that have proven themselves to be good members of the community that I'm sure would be more than happy to help. From my perspective, it's something to almost be proud of when you need a team of mods. It shows that your forum has grown incredibly. Bill Gates couldn't run Microsoft on his own. It's a testament to how successful your project has grown when you need extra minds to help out.
I hope your health is okay, and it would be a massive shame if this forum did end up disappearing.

Confidence Man just ripped the (newly added and delightfully furnished) roof off KOKO. If you are catching them on this UK jaunt then you are in for a treat.
I was there too! Got soaked by Sugar's champagne 🤣

Showing my age here but who is/are Central Cee? Do they have a hit?

They'd fit decently as the 6th name with the current 5 as well i think
They'd be a great headliner, but they're not down for 2023 as far as I know.
I know "trust me bro" is an annoying source on the internet, but that's all I can offer but I've been told by a reliable source it's not them. No idea who it is, just been specifically told "not Kasabian" 🤣

What do we think re Kasabian. Its only a matter of time really and they did all the medium sized fests this year - would much prefer them to Royal Blood
Not happening in 2023

The Who apparently have a tour coming next year. Chances?

Yeah that’s quite a jump from your limit . Hopefully a lottery win comes your way or you manage to find an alternative that’s not so pricey … or maybe try the work option … although I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea
We might think about work. Luckily for me, my actual work pays me to go to other festivals so hopefully I can weasel our way into Glasto... We know a few bands as well, so maybe we can get in for a day through a band 🤞

How much are you priced out by ? Is it just you or other members of a group ?
£300 was the limit for me and my girlfriend. There's 8 in our usual group. 4 old-timers, and 4 that came for the first time in 2022. The 4 of us that have been going for years have said we're out, whereas the newbies aren't bothered by the price at all.
-
After a few hours and the news sinking in, I'm actually fucking distraught at this price increase. Glastonbury is the centrepiece of my year (as I expect is the case for most people on here) and I've finally been priced out of going... It also seems as though the only way is up for the price tag as well, so I'm not entirely convinced I'll ever get the chance to go again. That's even more disappointing when paired with the fact that due to a bunch of reasons, I didn't have a nice festival at all this year.
End of an era for me. I really don't know what to do with myself!
-
The newbies in our group (this year was their first) don't give a fuck about the price and are saying they're going anyway.
The rest of us old farts have decided to call it a day.

Website says £55 for parking, saved you a tenner lad
Haha, cheers mate 🤣
What's put the price into perspective for me is that it's over 50% more expensive than my first one in 2014. The festival will have their reasons for this price, and they're probably the same reasons I'll be at home that weekend.
-
That's unfortunately pricing me out now. I had a feeling that 2022 would be my last one, but this price is just way too much for me to justify.
£340 for a ticket, plus what I'm expecting to be £65 for car parking, fuel on top of that, food, etc... We're probably talking £500-600 a head for the weekend.
Good luck to you all on ticket day, but I'll be one less person trying to make it easier for you all.

Amended it a bit, (arguably) cheaper undercard maybe compensates for the price of Kendrick etc.
However they did manage to afford AM, Dave and RATM in the same year - tho I appreciate Kendrick is probs a different level.
Friday
Kendrick Lamar / Loyle Carner / Rina Sawayama
Doja Cat / Becky Hill / Nothing But Thieves
Saturday
Dua Lipa / Playboy Carti / Self Esteem
Kasabian / The Vaccines / IDLES
Sunday
Blink-182 / Yungblud / Wet Leg
Royal Blood / Architects / Sea Girls
Kasabian aren't booked

setup alerts to their twitter, its faster than the notifications in app / email
Is there a way to do it for a specific artist/show rather than just have all of their notifications going mental?

I'm looking for 2x Kasabian tickets for Ally Pally. Anyone know of spares? Every time some go on Twickets, I'm beaten to them.

I'm expecting to see something like that. While I had my issues trying to score a second hand ticket to their date at Reading earlier this year, I saw a lot of second handers going around during The Killers' run when they did a stadium tour of similar scale this year.
Yeah I reckon if you wait until the day of the gigs, you'll get then for £20 each
-
Well, I only attend the festival because of work so to be honest only having one headliner I care about is actually decent. Just hope Billie is on the Saturday 🤞
-
If you missed out, I'd hold on. Thry'll be going for peanuts on the day of each gig. Liam G's Knebworth shows had people just giving their tickets away

It's kinda like joining a queue and there's a big sign that says "use both lanes" and then when you reach the point where the queue splits in two, there's a guy there with his hand outstretched to the left and everyone is just going down the left queue. In those circumstances, nothing stops you going down the right queue, you'd just be ignoring the signal, having already been explicitly told that either queue is fine to use.
Off-topic, but this reminded me of something that happened to us at the festival this year. My girlfriend and I were queueing for the showers at Kidz Field. We were chatting with the two women behind us, having a good time whilst a group of 4 scouse girls in front of us stood there giving us filthy looks for the hour we were in the queue. When it got to the part where it splits into two queues, it seemed pretty clear to us that they had joined the queue for the right hand queue, so we walked past them and joined the left-hand one. These girls started kicking off at us, saying we pushed in front of them and they were queueing for both. We explained to them that it was clear there were two queues, and they had to choose one. They could go in front of us if they wanted to choose to do so, which they did. The two women behind us took the right hand queue.
Obviously, the two women had managed to go in the shower and come back out again before the scouse girls had even gone in. They called over to us and waved, whilst my girlfriend and I laughed at how the girls' plan had backfired. We weren't even mad that we were still queuing at that point.

Ah that was a glorious ticket day for me. My first attempt and I got tickets for about 20 people 🤣
