  1. I'm leaning towards putting mine back in the pot right now. I go to Glastonbury for the music above everything else. In previous years, it has been the premier location to see artists. Whether it is a megastar like McCartney, or just something a bit of a "Wow I didn't expect that" such as Miley Cyrus. I love the festival, but the first thing I need is to at least have 4 or 5 must-sees on my list. The poster gave me two (It would have been 4, but Idles, Dua and Fontaines all clash), so I'm already settling for folling mates around and just watching whatever they want to watch. Normally, I wouldn't mind that, provided I have a few locks for my weekend. I also do not drink or partake in anything else, and I feel like a lot of the festival is enhanced by a bit of intoxication. Completely sober, I usually see everything the site has to offer across Wednesday and Thursday, before enjoying all the music on the last few days. I personally don't see the value in spending probably around £1500 between myself and my partner to go away and just take in some new music, when that money could go towards a great holiday or a bunch of gigs/smaller festivals where the music is more suited for us. I get one big trip a year, which is usually Glastonbury, but I think my money may be better off elsewhere this year, and I think somebody else would be better off taking my place. That's not easy to say (I nearly cried when the lineup came out) as I love being at the festival, but this year's festival just isn't catered towards me.
  2. I came back to somebody (don't know if it was definitely you) and disagreed massively about IDLES on Other... But then I heard TANGK and saw them in Brixton. Best libe band at the moment and deserve this new wave of success.
  3. I think it's very telling that this place isn't buzzing. I don't think anybody would deny that there's a large population of people on this forum that are kind of music snobs. Near enough everyone on here will say some variation of the "It's not all about the..." line at some point. But the vibe on here this morning appears to be largely negative - It doesn't feel too far different from the vibe I was getting when 2020 was officially cancelled. I haven't dared to look at social media yet.
  4. Considering the general discourse around festival lineups over the past decade or so, there's actually a very small number of white guys with guitars. No lads in bucket hats this year.
  5. I just turned 30, and not a single person I know personally has said anything genuinely positive about it. The best I got was a "It's not all about the lineup" which was a very different tone to how that would usually be said 😂 Hope your daughters have a great time though
  6. This is an all-time worst lineup for me. At £350 a ticket, I'll be putting mine back in the pot.
  7. Second last on Other could be Confidence Man, which matches with a previous post
  8. *content removed by site admin* If this is fake, it's the best I've seen so far. Strange why most of the names would be blurred. I can't make out a great deal there but definitely The National and Jamie XX on there
  9. Imagine after all of this, Dua isn't even on the lineup tomorrow and it's Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks and Madonna
  10. Nothing. It was supposed to be moved to June but I've not heard a thing.
  11. My friend that works in the industry has just told me. Announced tomorrow
  12. 30 Seconds To Mars are posponing their tour

    Poster Drop day

Thanks! Honestly, no idea really! I'm mainly just hoping Coldplay aren't headlining 😂
  14. My girlfriend met him at the pop pop pop up shop, and asked him if they were playing Glasto. He told her they weren't, and said they have other shows that weekend. When I posted it on here, somebody replied to say he'd said to them that they were not playing as they were not offered a good enough slot

    Poster Drop day

It's officially poster drop day. Today is my 30th so I'm guessing Emily has a gift for me
  16. Let's go Monday for my birthday
  17. Where the hell has the Green Day chat come from?

    Brixton Crush

Fair enough. I'm honestly not sure what I expect going forward. If I had to guess, maybe all the shows this year will be TM events and maybe they'll expand when they are more comfortable and settled in to the security procedures

As I said, it is down to the promoters and the contracts agreed. It's possible that the contracts for these shows have been for TM to be the only ticket agents. I would not be surprised if this is part of the safety procedures. When other agents are involved on a show night, it can confuse the accuracy of the recorded attendance figures. I would say it is entirely possible that they are TM only shows to eliminate this risk and have a more accurate tally of numbers in the building.

Some events are. Honestly, it depends on which promoter is running the show that night. Some use DICE, See, G+T, etc... But every show will have most of the tickets being sold through TM

It may well stay that way. All AMG venues are Ticketmaster venues
  22. Yeah, I think most people would have had them locked in for a headline slot on Woodsies or maybe even Other at a push. I reckon they were offered the same slot as last time - About 3rd or 4th down on Other so they just turned it down. TANGK has done really well for them so far - Another number 1 album, and sell-out shows at many UK venues, including Ally Pally. They've a right to be offended at a lower slot.
  23. Obviously not headline, but elsewhere. My girlfriend met Joe at the Pop Pop Pop Up Shop a couple of weeks ago and he told her they aren't playing. Somebody in the self-confirms thread then backed this up after meeting Joe at the same thing. They said he'd told them that Idles were offered a slot but turned it down because it was below their expectations. I'd imagine most people would have at least had them down as headlining Woodsies this year so you have to wonder what they were offered and what they were expecting.
  24. It's not even necessarily just the price point, it's the fact that I usually look at Glasto as somewhere to see some big things that I'd like to see but don't want to drop £75+ on a ticket. I'd be made up with the likes of Gaga or Billy Joel, for example. I even am semi-pleased with Dua, but I feel like her booking looks weak when put alongside Coldplay (I think on their 5th headline slot) and SZA (Who it is debateable whether she is headline calibre) I then like a scattering of things that I'd usually go to see for £20-50 in the undercard... But after the talk that Idles supposedly turned down a slot because what they were offered wasn't good enough, makes me wonder who else out of those sort of acts won't be there. I was hoping to see Charli XCX and Confidence Man, for example... Is Charli getting an offer as good as she did in 2021? I'm just getting concerned that the festival are struggling to pull in a bunch decent names for whatever reason. It's not just the Pyramid headliners that aren't doing it for me, but the current rumoured headliners of any stage. Besides, people can say "It's not all about the Pyramid" but I just can't sit there and say I wouldn't be disappointed if I wasn't spending at least one good night there.
