With Jamie Lenman stepping in on vocal duties whilst Will recovers.

Seriously worried about them now, like they said that them pulling out of all their gigs this year has taken their toll on them financially massively, if they split, especially under these circumstances I’ll be gutted

Why does everyone have to co-headline all of a sudden?

Tame Impala were 3rd on NME last time they played six years ago, and they didn't get booked at all after they released Currents which is apparently their best album, why would they suddenly be in the top two?

If they did play during the currents cycle they’d have subbed. And they still would sub if they played

i think they still can headline Download with a strong undercard like Architects or Bullet For My Valentine but no way they can headline reading anymore

Yep I agree that they’ll headline Download still. I get that their APE gig sold like shit,  but no other potential new DL headliners would have done any better

Highlights on Sky Arts this weekend. A show on Sat/Sun but not sure if the latter is just a repeat. I know Def Leppard and Slipknot are definitely being covered but no mention of Tool anywhere, unsurprisingly.

It’s not a repeat, they always have 2 highlight episodes

So how did BMTH fuck it then? They were definitely on track to hit headline spots. Is it because their recent output just hasn’t been good at all?

I’d also blame it on Amo even though I like it

Edit: being more specific I think that it alienated their old fans without successfully bringing in pop fans, unsurprisingly

Fair enough. The last act I can remember making such a huge leap on the line up in one year was The Strokes. Just thought he'd be everywhere if he suddenly that got massive.

He is ridiculo massive. I was way too young to know how ubiquitous The Strokes were back then, but I’d imagine it’s neck on neck, or that Posty is bigger now.

Perhaps.. but this is a festival who booked G'NR, had The Libertines comeback, outbid Download for the Rage reunion etc. Who these days on the line up would fetch similar kinds of money?

You don't really see reformed bands playing R/L that much either, when it would be the festival they used to be nailed on for.

    Eminem, Foo Fighters and Kendrick?

Then which recently reformed bands would you suggest play?

Billie not coming across great on TV.

I thought she seemed p good. Crowd looked fairly flat to me for her apart from Bad Guy and You Should See Me In a Crown tho

Vampire Weekend looks like good times

Not bad at all, I was worried her music wouldn't work in the Sun with such a big crowd but she seems to be managing well.

    What do you think Steve?

Hard to follow Miley but still pretty fuckin banging

    rate her doing a JUMPTHEFUCKUP

Showing solidarity with immigrants isn't the same as having some utopian idea that there will be no problems in the country with mass immigration. Owen Jones has criticised the Birmingham Muslim LGBT protesters, I think people are a bit unfair to him (but he doesn't help himself sometimes.)

    bang on

A snidey comment like that without a serious counter argument is helping his point lads
