Fair enough but that year didn't even sell out. Kasabian aren't expensive also, definitely a cheaper act when compared to many others. Drake would sell a lot more tickets than Eminem - Eminem is very popular and was massive but now he isn't releasing even close to as much music as Drake and not as big songs either. Reading audience would certainly be more tempted by Drake I think its safe to say.

How do you know the booking cost of Kasabian

if they get drake they won't cough up for the strokes and slipknot, we'll be getting like foals and catfish as the other two headliners

What about when they got Eminem and coughed up for Muse and Kasabian?

Hi everyone. Thank you for sharing this with us, I find it really interesting! The information is important, thank you for sharing it. However, a question tricks me a little, I would like to expose it if it is possible. Thank you for your return.  Good luck to all.

    Very welcome!

What happened with all that stuff about Maynard then? Was it bollocks?

Apparently that same person made another twitter account with a similar rumour about Reznor on the same day, and deleted that one after 10 mins, so it’s fairly safe to assume that neither are true

Do we think slipknot could play SOMEWHERE though? new album, just announced an arena tour? Never played before (I assume?) they’d definitely pull a decent crowd where ever they’d be! I’d be up for it

I'm not really predicting it, but I reckon Corey would be well up for the idea of doing Glasto, even if it means taking a lower slot then usual. They're supporting Metallica in Aus so they aren't insistent on headlining everything

Trees is 10,000 capacity. That’s Deftones level.

Well they played Wembley which is 13k and that’s without playing what’s p much universally considered their best album in full. I know Shikari and Frank Turner have done those sized venues but I’d say it’s different considering that they’re both British, Frank has a history with the fest and Shikari are constantly touring.

Plus, they don’t strike me as the type to do the nostalgia circuit anyway, let alone at a small fest that they’ve never played and prob wouldn’t be able to afford them. I’d see that as a Download headliner sized deal

They should do a Dia De los Deftones here, that lineup bangs

very realistic apart from BMTH headlining. i think maybe it's time for Alter Bridge or A Day To Remember to get that push. i would put Korn and Five Finger Death Punch somewhere in this bill too, maybe as subs. but apart of that, excelent lineup

Why would BMTH be an unrealistic headliner, but not Death Punch or Alter Bridge?

As in it was obviously very successful, but I don't think it's an instant classic on the same level as other pop albums that give acts their big break (e.g. Fame Monster, Red, Teenage Dream, Views, Good Girl Gone Bad etc.) and not enough to give an immediate bump up to headliner. Especially because of the lack of big singles (other than Bad Guy and Bury A Friend). Again, everyone here says Anti was an unsuccessful album, and the performance of both those albums on the charts and on spotify is pretty similar (again, not saying that for a debut album it wasn't very successful, but if people don't reckon Rihanna could headline off a similar performing album and extensive backcatalogue of hits then I don't see why Billie should be getting the nod instead).

Have you seen the crowd reaction to album tracks at Reading? It’s insane. I seriously don’t know what else you expect the album to do.

And Rihanna is already an established artist so it’s hardly a fair comparison. The last couple of Eminem albums prob charted higher then BBAB and astroworld for eg, it’s just how the world works

EDIT- also what about you should see me in a crown and wish you were gay?

EDIT EDIT- Also I’d say she appeals to somewhat of a more alternative audience than say a Perry or Rihanna so she’s less likely to churn out HUGE songs. Just looked at the track list for Teenage Dream though, fuck me

and her first album, while performing well, wasn't exactly the largest success (in terms of cementing it as a GOAT album. It really only spawned 2 hits.

    Eh?

Heard that Parkway Drive had the biggest crowd ever of Bloodstock, so we can expect some new and nontraditional metal bands headlining. I can see Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium (again) or even Slipknot doing this

Really can’t see any of them doing it, bar Trivium

Yeah, on that day, IDLES didn’t sell more than ‘4k’ tickets (Where is this confirmed btw? A random poster on here?) either, they can’t shift anything can they?

Beez said they sold 2k full priced ones

I don’t get the Disturbed are too stupid argument. This is a festival that has just had a band headline who have tanks on stage and sing about the war and a band who dress up as evil scarecrows pull a massive crowd. Bloodstock is home of the stupid  Disturbed would go down just fine, I’m absolutely certain.

The power metal types seem to be huge at Bloodstock though, and one of the only places in the UK where people give a fuck. There’s a world of difference between them and a mainstream, meatheaded, monster-chugging nu metal band. I actually reckon loads of Sabaton fans would turn their nose up at them.
