  1. Note: the 'daily' paper is free (on thursdays and sundays) but the custom prints are not - they will have a selection for sale in the tent, you'll have to visit to see what, I doubt they are printed yet 🙂

  2. Lashed down at Gate C at about 8pm ish, cleared up by 8:30, so I cycled over to the Hill - loads of people just watching the queue form. The site looks busy already, ten - ish hours to go 🙂

  3. Last year it was on the tuesday, so I got up at 4AM (!) drove a few miles to the headland near me, then walked a mile to get some pics:

then I went back home, had a few more hours kip, then up again at about 10am, then left for the festival 😄

I didn't know either until they mentioned it yesterday on Worthy FM but he died recently: either March or May I think.  I hadn't realised he'd been involved for 30 years either, so he was even more of a legend than I already thought.  I used to love those occasions when the kit f**ked up and he couldn't get a track to play so he'd just sack it off and sing a Bob Marley tune start to finish.

ah man, i had a quick look online last night and didn't see that, but looking this morning, theres a short article on the worthyfm facebook posted only a few weeks ago: https://www.facebook.com/worthyfm

    a great shame 😕

  5. Their twitter doesn't seem to be updated that often, but maybe ask there?

also, I can't see Teacha on this years lineup? literally only know him from worthyfm, been listening years 🙂 got a shout out last year too, hopefully he's on at some point

  6. Same here, I'm going to use the weekend to pack properly, do a shop, recheck I know where my ticket it (still hung on the wall 🙂 ) and generally worry about something going wrong in some way 😄

So I'll probably do some more short walks to wear in my old boots (put in some new comfy insoles) but no more big cycle rides - coming off and hurting myself this close to the festival would be rubbish!

It's also a good 'pause' in my aim of moving at least 10km a day this year - yesterdays big ride took me ober 3650km for the year to date, so I have technically met my goal and can veg out for the rest of the year 😄

But while the weight isn't falling off as fast as I'd hoped, I do feel so much better than six months ago, so I'm going to keep at it after the festival too (and possibly during, I'll have my little 'shopper' bike to get me around the site if the ground conditions stay amiable)

Biggest thing is to try and prevent blisters, I never seem to be able to avoid them, by saturday i'm limping 😕

I mean every other festival does it and copes.

Leeds, reading, download are similar order of scale.

Boomtown has similar connection problems (it's in a national park with poor signal)

Why would Glastonbury not be able to handle it?

Glastonbury Festivals could easilly handle it - the question is 'do they have to?'

Would a new system save money vs what is in place right now ?

Yeah, Worthy Farm and Glastonbury festival. They already do it. Just not out to the gates. You think the Pyramid sounddesk isn't wired up to the Pyramid PA?

The stalls all get power from somewhere too.

    lol

and do these magic ethernet cables also handle the thousands of database queries a second as well? or would there need to be a metric sh*t ton of extra backend server infrastructure to run all this as well? (spoiler: yes)

It's perfectly feasable, but incredibly unlikly to be a benefit based on cost and time to build.
