Heard a few horror stories of cars being stripped of doors, interiors this year. Car theft gangs targeting the festival going to be an increasing problem? I was in Pink 54 this year over the road which I consider off site and unsafe now 😕

Unless you have proof this is just stupid scaremongering.

apology edit: proof below v blimey!

What was up with the Pilton Palais? Seemed to be shut for a lot of the weekend.

LDR had it all booked out for her hair appointment.

This year for us it would have been 3900 for two tickets with van pitch. Other people may know someone who gets cheaper but I have used the same guy for my last 9 Glasto’s. It’s a hospitality ticket and they run a mini bus to the circus field from Windenlake every 15 mins from 10am - 4am. I like the quieter camp site, gives me time to get the old bones ready for another dance.

Well, I guess it's still going to be F5-ing for me then 🙂

I know what you mean, but I am 48 now and can’t camp in the chaos for 5 nights. We always bring our van and stay at Windenlake (still massively expensive as you say) but I say never again after every year and book tickets the Monday we get home 😂

whats the approx cost for a campervan pitch and ticket(s)  - I'm already paranoid about not getting a ticket for next year 😄

  5. In no order as I can't decide

    # Lottery Winners at Strummerville - I've only ever heard their stuff on the radio, they were amazing live, it was bordering on a comedy show at points, I laughed and laughed, the crowd interaction was on point, I planned on seeing them at Greenpeace etc, but it didn't pan out. An amazing gig

    # Foo Fighters - a blinder of a set, so much energy!

    # Phil Hartnoll djing at Tow and Hitch - some amazing tunes, but on my list as I struck up the courage to go to the little window in the 'booth' and shake his hand 🙂 A memory to cherish 🙂

  6. been going to the festival for nearly 30 years, and I reckon this years was the best one so far for me. A lot of the stuff in this thread (chairs, flags, temps/shade, beers, prams, pinch points) have been 'issues' for years and are never going to change, they are ingrained in the festival now, the festival has been very popular for years now, so people that started going in the 90s will have kids/prams/chairs/need shade/have flags etc - I'm not a fan of flags, but it's just how it is.

I genuinly don't have anything I'd change, apart from fantasy land stuff like 'cheaper beer', I put up with flags, and people with kids are as welcome as anyone else.

And 'busy on Thursday' has no fix, other than to fully open the stages, which we know Mendip Council will probably never agree to, so its always going to be crowded at the small amount of venues open, because 90% of people are already on site by then.

anyway, I loved every second, and very much hope I get a ticket for next year.

  7. I met up with some friends i haven't seen in a few years and we got chatting and time ran away, I cycled past later, but couldn't see anyone I recognised from last time, so didn't stop. Hopefully next year 🙂

It all turned out to be a good mix in the end, didn't it?

The only really tough point was Thurs afternoon and morning/early afternoon on Saturday.

Luckily some of the acts I wanted to see during the hottest spells were in tents Thurs.

Still don't believe people when they say they can walk/dance 25k+ steps in 30 odd degrees and do everything how they normally would tho, and then also party all night. Like, Saturday was really tough to move around and it was only 26-27.

Even pro athletes wouldn't think that's a good idea.

My phone logged 136km from Tuesday lunchtime to about 3am Monday morning. I like walking when it's hot 🙂

    Lol! Seriously fake news then!!

There was another article where they interviewed a guy from Portugal (I think) who had got to the front at 4AM to get a spot, had a full costume and food/drinks for the day 🙂

  10. deals, favours and excellent friends got me this set for this year, saw the sun come up at Broke Britain dancing to jungle, shook hands with Phil Hartnoll in T&H but mildly dissapointed (but can understand why) that the T&C rules changed this year so that guests were not allowed in until after 12pm, which meant I missed the cut off for the fry up in the catering tent 😕

  11. I met up with friends who only got there on sunday evening and were 'making the most if it' so ended up crashing out at about 2:30am (I left them to it at Lonely Hearts) so I didn't get packed up to leave E17 Camper (I was right at the back) until 11AM, at which point I moved about three car lengths, then didn't move again until 3pm, inched out the fields for another 2 hours, and by the time I got to the road, the nearest camper fields were empty, so quite possibly it was a free for all to get out. Home by 6PM - I got home earlier than that in the last muddy year when we all got towed out 🙂

Still, enjoyed the lie in 🙂

I’ve found The Open Arms in Silver Hayes to be better than Maceos this year

Any ides on what other crew bands can get in there? abuddy of mine is working there but is terrible at replying to mesages, othersie i'd just ask 😄

  13. This is my 21st Glastonbury, and based on last years crowds and previous pinch points over the years, I'd say it's a normal year so far.

It was busy at the bandstand for the two guys who do dance covers on guitars, and I was at strummervile for Lottery winers, whcih was rammed, but not dangerous, but it's thursday and there isn't trhe amunt of things going on to spread the crowd.

There’s only1 bloke there. Or at least there was when I went back in earlier. Just walk to ice creams and carry on straight down the hill - the one way queue is ridiculous

security at the top of the hill were getting very shouty at people doing that 🙂

  15. I have a quest(ion) though - is there anywhere on site (probably green fields) that sells mead?

'discovered' it earlier this year, and it's simply amazing!

Gutted. T&C bar has been a favourite destination for years for its combination of better beers, shelter and the occasional walk-about act.

still got the ale selection thought:

The Green Room was always very strictly T&C crew, performers and exclusively invited guests, but who knows if that will change this year.

Very strict this year, I have a T&C band but that is only allowing acces from mid-day to 3AM - so i can't get in early for a fried breakfast 😕

I don't think they are allowiing any other wristbands in.

Interestingly Maceos is also mega strict, so far anyway, I have a plethora of other bands, but not a Block9 and not allowid in last night or tuesday night.
