Tbf they've already got their 2024 UK stadium tour out there and feel like they are at the very least a possibility for Glastonbury. So can guess they're not gonna do trips for both, at least, not this time.
Yeah next year was always out of the question with the stadium tour, I’d bank on 2025 personally

Mates bumped into Melvin Benn at Leeds yesterday, they didn’t ask about how this year’s gone but requested Foos in future. “Not next year” was his reply

BBC are putting out a documentary about Reading and Leeds by the looks of it.
I wonder if they will acknowledge the festival's history prior to 2018.Group of actors next to us outside MSE done a film shoot for that new Dragon Soop type drink, doesn’t feel right this year at all

I mean there could be a legit excuse his DJs were here playing tunes but he wasn’t. Something could’ve happened but it looks poor turning his phone off

Shocker, Lil TJay hasn’t turned up at Leeds

Secret set on the BBC introducing stage at about 8pm at Leeds btw, no idea who yet but stewards say it’ll be on the app in due course

This happens all the time. Stop booking these kinds of artists.
Even red and blue are quiet, loads of space. Behind the fun fair in purple is literally half empty

Mates that have just got to Leeds saying that even brown and green camps look completely full. In general it won’t be as bad as we expect but the arena will be shocking through the day, especially if the weather doesn’t hold

Red is always one of the first to fill up.
Someone ask around with the stewards and staff etc to see if you can get a rough number out of them on how many attendees they have coming?
I’ll report back tomorrow when I get there if I remember, don’t think it’ll be as bad as we think but I’m intrigued

The setlist I'd seen most recently had Human first and Brightside last.
That now infamous Georgia gig had it first and quite a few on their summer US gigs did as well. Don’t see how that could possibly work

The Killers crowds on that tour were mostly 30+, leaning towards 40+. Not Reading kind of audience.
Scary thing is at their recent headline gigs The Killers have been playing Mr Brightside first, imagine the exodus after that at R&L

I mean, they did sell out a large-scale UK stadium tour last year (I should know given I was at the Coventry date). But the general thing is just a mess.
Do we expect to see a big change for 2024 or is the buzz that they're just gonna keep on plodding along with this format?
We’ve nothing really to go off yet, not even Glasto headliners from this year. Looking back, 2019 was the perfect mix of pop and alt, even decent sized bands drawing decent sized crowds in the FR and pit stages, people stood outside for Bowling for Soup (clashed with The 1975) as they couldn’t get in. What a year

And there’s a gate us normal punters can go through there is there? Seems to be only guest etc
Yeah definitely, all public transport goes in through yellow gate. I went by bus last year and got in through yellow

Anyone know what gate the first bus drops off at? Think it’s yellow? Can general admission go through that gate as would be handy as will be camping in eco camp 🤣
In Leeds it’s yellow, not sure about reading

Has anyone had an issue with their ticket in the app where you click through to the barcode but it won’t work?

Leeds isn't getting scrapped don't be silly, one poor year won't make them cut half of the defining youth event of the year
Even after the infamous riots back in the day they didn’t scrap it. It won’t go unless it’s loss making

They do need a creche to be fair
Central Cee and the 1975 will be doing the baby sitting, this actually has the potential to be a proper crowd

Presumably the Soft Play set is in the FR slot? Assumed that would be the Bombay Bicycle Club one

If I came in a converted camper van into the normal car park and sleep in this on the night would this be allowed for one night on a day ticket?
Vehicles don’t get stopped going into the car parks so you should be fine

It will be interesting to see if you notice any differences this year
It’s been the other way round at Reading since the format change. It has felt half empty at most times the last couple of years (bar the MSE headliners)
Only times when I’ve thought it’s been dead have been anytime I’ve been in the FR tent and by the introducing stage, other than that it’s been normal from what I’ve seen. I did think there was loads of space in the front pit at BMTH last year though, they didn’t close that at any point

I’m sure that’s the word they’re putting out and he didn’t clarify what we thought. It could still be a long way from sold out
The fact that camping capacity has been reduced, it’s still not sold out and it’s the fact they’re having to put out the word “it’s not that bad” suggests it’s very much worse than they at least hoped.
It will be interesting to get reports on the ground from Friday as to how busy the arena seems compared to normal
At Leeds the map is the same as it was in 2019 and 2021. I believe it was smaller in 2018 and bigger in 2022. Still felt busy in the arena every time, especially since they introduced MSW

Weird weird set that at Leeds, DJ played about 10 minutes of the set before Central Cee and an entourage of about 20 blokes came on. Am I old?
