To be fair, I've been to two BMTH shows on this run and the central pits have been as you'd expect but outside of it the crowds are fairly dead. You can see it in videos from the seats from almost every show.

The band themselves have been excellent however.

From memory the pits at the 2021 Sheff arena gig were bigger than they were last night - Happy Song was pretty much wall to wall. It was the first gig post-lockdown for a lot of people mind

A post on reddit states that they work within event production and an artist has 1Xtra Stage down as an upcoming booking behind the scenes. If they were combining stages to create the bigger tent, I dont know why 1Xtra would stay.

I can only imagine they’d rebrand the dance tent, it’s the only one remotely big enough to remodel as a multi-genre big tent

I know it’s only an isolated occurrence but this lineup has attracted back some older heads already. My mate is wanting to do it for his stag do and there’s about 12 of us who are up for it. He hasn’t been to Leeds himself since 2014 and most of the lads haven’t been in the last 5 years.

It’s a steady set of headliners if you’re into guitars which is what a lot of people our age will say has been missing lately. Think the rest of the lineup will be as weak as last year but generally it’s a decent start.

People will moan at Gerry and Catfish they’re good Festival acts. I’d have them over Imagine Dragons and Lewis Capaldi any day.

Are you predicting they're going to cut the mains stages by yet another act this year Chaddy?

Will only be 2 more years until they're back to the initial single main stage number at that point

Shrinkflation in action, soon you’ll be able to watch 26.7% fewer acts while supping a 330ml can of warm lager

That's kinda crazy, although I suppose Leeds already has late night options that Reading doesn't. You'd think that given Leeds doesn't have the same restrictions that Reading has they'd have it later on there.

It’s an odd one, it surely can’t even be a nighttime thing at Reading with the curfew so what’s the point if the Dance tent is remaining

Do we think changes could be putting something on Thursday night for weekend ticket holders like quite a few festivals are doing? Different band at each reading and Leeds? Might back up the prodigy rumor even if they are only playing reading.

Feel like they’re missing a trick not doing this but licensing is an issue

Would have thought so too. Who knows what Melv was talking about, he has a precedent for talking out his arse to NME so whether anything will materialise of it who knows

New post out saying no headliner clashes as always, vague once again.

They might be waiting to get more acts announced before saying if they scrap MSW, it’d only take away from an otherwise successful launch at the moment.

I would have thought they would have said who’s headlining east and west at this point, unless there isn’t east and west?

It’s weird, only clues so far are they’ve said there’s six headliners but in one tweet they said main stage rather than MSE/MSW

MSE: Blink-182 / The Prodigy (very special guests) / A Day To Remember

MSW: Gerry Cinnamon / Vampire Weekend / Lil Yachty

MSE: Fred again.. / Raye / The Wombats

MSW: Lana Del Rey / Ice Spice / Digga D

MSE: Liam Gallagher / Two Door Cinema Club / IDLES

MSW: Catfish and The Bottlemen / Skrillex / The Vaccines

Looks all over the place to me.

If they added ADTR, Idles, TDCC and the wombats to what they already have it would be outrageously good by recent standards for me

No way the arena selling Prodigy play anything lower than headlining one of the Main Stages. They’re not going to sub. There’s no space for them.

Would love to be proved wrong.

A sub but a very strong sub I’d say. Special guests maybe? When AJ Tracey did that slot last year he was arguably more relevant to the audience in question

Quite likely, my thinking is we will get some more names and a first poster in the early part of next week before the general sale.

It’s obviously much harder to promote the lineup with 10 individual posters than one combined lineup one, so I’d expect something else soon

  12. 14 minutes ago, nathanh said:

For anyone wondering when to expect new names. The last time we got so few names in the first drop was the 2021 lineup and even then we had more names than yesterday and the next announcement followed the following week. Could see that being a possibility just before tickets go on sale.

It is strange that there’s almost a week till tickets go on general sale. Why not today, why not Monday? I know they’ve got presale to squeeze in but it’s an odd one if they’ve not got more names to announce next week

Liam subbed pyramid in 2019, Fred subbed Other this year (at his request). Glasto is a different fest.

Not saying I'm right, just interested to see how this shakes out, because in my mind they've got 4 headliners. Bit like the AM/BMTH situation, one of these days is gonna sell out much quicker than the others

Yeah there’s definitely some that are much easier to place than others. It is kinda 4 and 2 with LG, Blink, Fred Again, LDR // Catfish, Gerry

    Wouldn't be so sure...

They've fixed the Leeds site now, Fred back up at the top to match Reading, you don't edit it unless it's a mistake!

Can’t be LDR doing MSE when LG did it in 2021, especially when Lana did the second stage at Glasto last year
