Posting this here as assuming I might snare someone in/near Cardiff and who likes Katy J Pearson (as a Green Man regular performer-ish) Got two tickets available for free to her show at Clwb Ifor Bach tonight if anyone wants them (it's sold out) - will send via email. First come first served! Unfortunately having to miss it due to flu taking us down!

This sounds like a good idea, all got a bit condensed at the back of walled garden at times. Plus, everyone needs a bit of room after their 4th pint of 7% cider

Saw her supporting Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff. Did most the gig in the crowd wearing just underwear before running out the room down the stairs. Only to reappear about 5 mins later. 7/10 would recommend. (Also apparently with a 'full band' at the moment, don't know what that means in the context of the musical style and performance art style)

Where are we on the Welly rating considering current ground conditions and forecast rain on a rating from 1 (don't even both packing) through 5 (leave in the car) to 10 (trench foot guaranteed)

Fully expect them to be pulled (and rightly so) - there was a gig at Rough Trade somewhere that's been canned so sure they will be canned in turn from Green Man shortly.

Does anyone know if we actually*have* to print the tickets or can show them on a phone screen?

I think at the moment we can say it's nailed on the build up will be relatively dry and therefore the ground will be dry come opening day. So even if it rained, won't be too muddy, plus judging on my vast experience of 1 year at the festival, where it rained fairly heavy for one night and into the morning last year, the site handles it very well.

Yep it was terrible. A couple of inches deep on the Sunday. Wasn't great up by Babbling Tongues either, but not quite as bad. As you say, hopefully a one off which was due to lack of set up time.

Also, are the men's urinals usually as bad as last year or was that a rushed set up thing too? Thinking of packing wellies even if it is 24c and dry all weekend just incase I need to traverse ankle deep piss and mud again.

As last year was my first, and it was a rush to put together, wondering what might be there this year that wasn't last year? Obviously things like hot tubs but anything else like interesting food stalls or even venues? Im convinced that round the twist wasn't there last year but maybe we just missed it up in the corner...

Seems a load of discontent on Twitter that no one seems to know what's going on with volunteers despite the festival being so close. Good to hear that some info is coming through!

Fair enough. Who initiated the purchase though? Different bits I read suggest the government just pulled the trigger and the festival distanced itself from it which seems rather counter intuitive and plus there is near radio silence from GM / Fiona Stewart which doesn't scream joined up thinking. It's all really strange. The bit about keeping it as a working farm but also hosting multiple events also very confused from an outside view, then all the environmental stuff layered on top as well doesn't seem thought about.

Just seen a reply from the GM Twitter account that Natalie Bergman has had to pull out due to issues getting a flight over or something.

Well as long as you can hold yourself together for long enough in the day that you don't accidentally boot a toddler (I kinda did in the courtyard last year but the parents saw the funny side) then you will have plenty to keep you going over night.

Oh and if you wanted to know how the place is kind of set up in terms of music/vibe then this is what I grabbed from the Green Man thread. The Creative Director of the whole place seems to play a part in running the Park area of Glasto...(the owner of Green Man, Fiona Stewart has long history with Glastonbury too back to the 80s/90s so it is very much in the same vein) *Given last year was my first Green Man I definitely got the 'mini Glastonbury' vibe and even said to my partner it felt like being in the Park area.... Didn't realise Green Man shares the booker! Explains a lot...*

I feel it's a bit misrepresented here in some respects. I would describe it very much as a two speed festival - the day is very family orientated and music wise quite chilled. However, the Far Out area, Chai Wallahs and to some extent Walled Garden that go on to 2/3/4am are definitely little oasis's of hedonism. I was somewhat surprised by the atmosphere in the far out tent late at night (in a good way) given how contrasted it was to the Mountain Stage at 1pm listening to floaty folk music with gangs of toddlers running around. If you choose the right time and area to get off your nut, it's got that aspect.

Thanks for your efforts on the clashfinder and will definitely be ripping off your playlist, I've been trying to build my own but keep getting waylaid. Oh on clashfinder, your edits have introduced some (slight) clashes (Kae Tempest / Dry Cleaning!?!?) so if we could ignore reality for that - would be much better!

Does this change the calculation of some more names to be announced? Assuming the Mountain Stage opens late afternoon, there is maybe 3 slots there...?
