Have you seen them before? I'd like to know more about them

I really don’t understand their strategy this year. Can’t see many tickets being shifted on account of recent announcements.
I feel it's just a countdown until a kick ass announcement next week with Mad Cool

Tash Sultana, RY X, Xavier Rudd, RCBF - why so many Australian artists? Seems disproportionate

I'd say Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Robyn and The Chems are "entertainers". Above all else, IDLES are probably the most entertaining live act around right now.
Oh I forgot that Idles were on the lineup!

It's good to have rock bands but what's missing in my opinion is entertainers. For the moment the best entertainers must be Cut Copy and Ornatos Violetas (I don't know other Portuguese acts though). Need a Gang of Youths, or a Frank Turner, or Foals, The Hives... Many will be touring in Europe in July.

RBCF leaked yesterday alongside Honne (not announced yet) in a tweet by Absolute Radio

Would Foals be to your liking? Granted that they do have one or two poppy songs
I loved their show at Rock Werchter 2016, so definitely! Gang of Youths is my wish n°1! But I need new bands at both Mad Cool and NOS Alive!
-
Gimme an entertaining rock band now please!
-
Ry X + Sagres Stage is a good thing. More than 6 months to go until NOS Alive, they know what they're doing... Wait for the big things
-
I'd love Tame Impala and Gang Of Youths!

For anyone who's been to Nos Alive before what's it like getting into the festival? Are the queue times very long? Also if I use the transport to/from Cais do Sodre will this be crazy busy with people crowding on? thanks!
Go to the campsite, take a bungalow if you need comfort; shuttle buses are really nice. And the queue is amazing with musicians playing at the entrance. And not long at all.
It's not as fast as a small festival, but better than many major European festivals.
Now when you are inside the festival, there are maximum 5min queues for drinks at most crowded hours. And you can pee easily. I recommend to eat at 7pm, when there is no one in the queue. Various queues for food depending on when you want to eat.

My ideal set of headliners would be Foo Fighters, LDR+party act or rap act, The Strokes and Robbie Williams

Imagine if we end with...
On 11th at Mad Cool
On 12th at Rangers Lodge
On 13th at NOS Alive
On 14th at Hyde Park
... Robbie Williams ?

At the moment it just feels so tacked on with portuguese artists that you can catch easily at other times throughout the year
True for the Portuguese, but don't forget that we are many to come from abroad, and good Portuguese artists that we can only see here have a special flavour for us! Blasted Mechanism last year was one of our highlights

What are you on mate? Kendrick is a well established production and headliner nowadays and gambino is doing his last tour ever. Far more exciting than who or florence
Yes for Kendrick, Gambino mostly in the US, and he says he's doing his last tour but he is 35... Kendrick is going to headline all major festivals in the incoming years... Florence has not a lot to envy to Kendrick... On the contrary, Gambino has to envy to both. He wouldn't even coheadline Rock Werchter. And The Who, just like Roger Waters or Bruce solo, are in a different category.
-
I'd prefer The Who to any unexperienced headliner like Childish Gambino. And they are not eternal... Same for Bruce... The Killers will probably play without their current guitarist if they do. Florence has headlined many huge festivals and she is at her best currently. Let Donald Glover and Kendrick Lamar time to grow. At this point I'd love The Who, Florence + The Machine and The Prodigy
-
I'd love the two of them because each time I saw them they were very good, and the atmosphere matches with NOS Alive. But... The Who... ?

Yeah as much as i want it to, i don't think its happening. Based on that poll i'm pretty sure were going to end up with Mumford and Sons unfortunately.
I think that if they play Benicassim, they're going to have a really nice crowd and it's going to be huge. Party acts are deeply anchored in the Spanish festival culture, like that wonderful band playing at FIB 2019 called La Maravillosa Orquesta Del Alcohol (la MODA), they are a bit like local old Mumford, and they raise big crowds like other Spanish party acts (Bongo Botrako, La Pegatina, Txarango etc). Mumford and Sons have something in their music which fits in that kind of acts. And they were not broadcasted all day long on the radio like in England.

+ They play at InMusic Croatia, several festival dates coming soon for sure...

The Strokes aren't headlining anything in Europe unless it's a small fest in the UK and they aren't coming for anything less than that.
They are headlining Bilbao BBK and Doctor Music Festival in 2019. (it's official) At least. They'll be probably announced at Super Bock Super Rock as well...
NOS Alive 2019
