  1. This will probably have been suggested before but would it not work better if you were able to enter your payment details before ticket day then on ticket day you just had to enter your reg and postcode? None of the pressure or fluster of typos/fat fingers etc. tripping you up at the final hurdle... just a thought.

Aren't they also using that useless Chinese vaccine?

    Yeah... according to the thread:

Exacerbating this is that most of Hong Kong’s elderly vaccinees had China’s non-mRNA Sinovac shot, which is less effective than Pfizer etc at blocking infection. Sinovac does fare better against severe disease, but overall this is likely to have contributed to the poor outcomes.

or she's just following advice as there is a rise in cases in Scotland (as there is in England but let's not mention that).

Covid isn't over...look at Hong Kong...will never be over, we have a new infectious disease that will kill a percentage of the population every year...

I read an interesting thread on Hong Kong which demonstrates just how effective the vaccines are.  I do wonder whether the low uptake is to do with Hong Kongs distrust of China though rather than misgivings about vaccines in general

(I've slapped my own wrist for discussing Covid in the Politics thread).

Poland going to supply fighter jets to Ukraine it seems.  Lots of talk of Russia seeing this as an escalation with Poland becoming a target potentially and Wallace pretty much agreeing that is likely and we will stand by Poland if that happens.

Lots of talk of NATO choosing if it engages Russia sooner or later - rather than not at all.  Lots of dangerous talk at the moment.

Shits getting worse by the day.

Is it true that you voted lib dem in 2019?

I've wondered this since it was first mentioned on here and through the sheer boredom of watching the Paw Patrol movie for the 45th time this year I've had a look at Ozannes twitter history and it does seem Frays got his wires crossed on this. Apologise Ozanne... I thought you were being a bit hypocritical with your views if you had voted lib dem in 2019 but it does seem not.

in terms of what? You mean the coventry council dispute? or in general by shifting labour to the centre? It does feel like the start of something. Labour is pretty cash strapped at moment, if it's going to lose money from union affiliation as well as reduced membership where is it going to get it's money from, rich donors like the tories?

I get why starmer might want to appeal to centre ground voters and those that voted tory last time, but they're in danger of losing large numbers of voters on the left...there will many who just won't vote or will vote green or someone. You can see on social media (and on here) how much loathing there is for Starmer on the left...I know twitter isn't everyone, but it is someone.

And an election campaign in a year or two with labour infighting plus a lack of funds is not going to help either.

It was the Unite vs Cov Council dispute I was on about but it does seem Starmers decided he doesn't need the unions or their money. Bad move in my eyes but as a lefty lefty I suppose I'm not the demographic he's aiming for. As you say he will need to find equivalent funding from another source at some point though.

If I remember rightly, the mum of the boy in the picture started using the forum and noticed her boy in the photo. I can’t really remember and I haven’t got time to go down the rabbit hole of that thread now, but it was all very lovely and seemed to confirm he was a very weirdly angled photobomber

Vaguely remember this coming up last year and themuel explained it. Also came up on twitter at a similar time.

  8. On a Sunday night I use a primitive form of shuffle where I get my 3 year old to pick a random record of mine that I listen to while I cook tea. Tonight she chose Presidents of the USA and I'd forgotten how much I loved their first album... I know it's just a bit of nostalgia kicking in but I'd love to see them play avalon, mid afternoon with realistically about 4 other people. Dream big folks!

Is he still Prince Andrew but can't use HRH? Same as Harry?

Yeah I think you're right... reading about it I think it was the honorary military roles that alot of people had issues with but it makes sense to lose the HRH as well. Still like the initial pun though.
