Completely new experience for me this year, after 8 years on Big Ground and the last 4 in CV East, due to failure to obtain a regular ticket I’m a guest of one of my friends in the Medical Team, so in their field just outside Gate B, top end of Muddy Lane.

Destined to have my very first shower in 14 Glastonbury’s amongst other luxuries. Trouble is it makes you soft...

Being able to use the showers everyday at Greenman last year was a god send, so much so I’ll try and get at least one in at Glasto. Thinking early afternoon on the Friday and then wait for Boy Azooga on Greenpace stage

  2. Pylon, leaving to others where to pick as not arriving till early evening. We've camped in pretty much the same spot the past 3 years, kind of stressing me out I won't be there to decide exactly where to pitch up

Boy Azooga are becoming a must see for me, preferably in WG as it's an early set (midday on Sunday). Really wish I'd found their album sooner.

Also on Greenpeace stage on Friday at 3:30. Could see him playing crows nest too

  4. Friday - Tame Impala. They were my standout name when the first poster dropped. Was hopefully for a new album by now, the two singles they’ve released are ok but can’t say I’m overly excited seeing pretty much the same set for a 4th time.

Saturday - Killers. It’s 50/50 between them and Chems but I’ll go Killers simply for the Pyramid

Sunday - Streets. Not too fussed about them but nothing else on the main stages for me and I’ve never seen a John Peel headliner.

  5. If Foals do play a secret set I really hope they don’t end up headlining next year. Think it’s pretty shit that the Killers are doing it this year, can maybe excuse it because of the fallow year. Reckon if it wasn’t for the 50th then Foals probably would do it next year but if they’ve got bigger acts lined up they’d obviously take them over Foals.

Never heard of Rex Orange County so checked the Wikipedia page.

    a) didn't expect it to be just one guy

    b) I know charts don't count for much these days but he's never had an album or song break into the main charts? That seems unusual for someone headlining the big five stages. Is he actually huge and I'm just being ignorant?

I think Emily is a big fan. Only reason i know of him was because she posted about him last year

  7. Usually go for 30 cans of cider and a bottle of JD, thinking Rum this year instead! Like others I need to sample some Mallets before the festival. Gutted to see Thatchers go, how many years were they the main cider on site? Im sure it was Gaymers my first year (2013). You could still get Pear Gaymers at a bar in the park last year

Does anyone have any recommendations on a little day-pack? I got this for 2017, and it saw me through Boomtown and Shambala, but is 100% NOT waterproof (and I lost one phone into the festival phone-abyss during a Boomtown storm because of it)

    Any suggestions welcome :)

I've also been wondering if a bum-bag would prevent me from losing my phone. Is this a good idea? Not sure it would really go with any of my planned outfits, but maybe that doesn't matter.....

Maybe get one of these if you've got a rucksack thats isn't waterproof. I got a similar one a couple years back and its done the job!

  9. 5,000 does seem low but i was surprised by how few from my group are trying considering a lot of them didn’t get tickets in October! Always like to think the resales reward the diehards! Good luck to those trying tomorrow

It's usually the O2 car park in North Greenwich, so no reason to think it's elsewhere. I guess the times left depend on what's available still, or does it not work like that?

Yeah it’ll be what’s left. In the main sale what were the times? I’ve got 4am - 3pm in my head for some reason

  11. Text shortcuts didn’t work for me in October so best having everything wrote down as well. I’m trying for mates tonight but good luck to everyone on here.

Cant be bothered looking back through all the pages, where is the see tickets pick up in London and what times do the run from and to?

Tantalising - wonder what they mean by "a" Glastonbury line up - maybe just themselves, or Block 9, or something even bigger??

No idea. They’re part of the Common area I think? So maybe there. Not an area I’m really into, I only follow cause they post Glasto pics that help build my excitement ?

I would have thought with us getting less names in the initial poster, that we’d get some more names from the 5 main stages before the full line up end of May. Not sure how that wold fit in with all the smaller area’s announcing

  13. Happy with this news, it would make sense to go near gate A for all those on the coach who can only bring what they can carry. I don't think it will affect the bars too much, maybe if the cans were cold but if not it'll just reduce the amount people bring with them from their cars and that will be depending on how much more expensive they'll be

I can see the reasoning for booking The Killers again. It was a secret set last time and it was rammed, loads of people missed out.

Wonder how many people seen the Killers last time? How many does the new John Peel tent hold, plus all those stood outside?

  15. We've always camped in Pylon, we get the coach and there's usually a  big group of us so its ideal really. Would love to do Big ground one year, maybe when the group gets smaller and we can pick our arrival time. Big ground is one of the first to fill up?

yep of course they will ... stupid moment ... but im sure they will charge the same price for 330ml cans as 500ml bottles

Yeah they’ll probably keep the same price which is already ridiculous, £1.50 or £2 for fizzy bottles, if i’m remembering correctly?

Said something after the Foals interview, Yannis didn't give anything away but I get the idea that they are playing.. more Glastonbury news soon they said within the next 30 minutes or so...

The guy interviewing mentioned them headlining the second stage, think a lot people on here had them down for Pyramid sub again or even a secret set.
