The dates make him look likely, but information from other corners of the internet point elsewhere.

I'm just here for the endless pointless arguing over whether Rod Stewart should do it or not.

That was 13 years ago. I agree with you, but that's not what the slot has become in recent years

Yes but I'll take the booking of a Ray Davies style legend over a pound-shop pop act all day long is what I'm saying. Even if that flies in the face of what's come before - being a legend should still be the prerequisite mandate.

I've said before, I feel like they've painted themselves into a corner with this teatime slot, setting some precedents, particularly over the past few years with more colourful, anthemic, upbeat pop acts. There's maybe an expectation now that the slot will be filled with acts that encourage flash mobs and fancy dress. From what I've heard, we won't be getting that this year. And that will disappoint those who have become accustomed to this slot being a fun beginning to the closing out of the weekend

Agreed, but at the same time a Ray Davies style set in the sun is a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon. Would rather that than shoehorning some crap like S Club 7 into the slot because it has to be some flash mob worthy act.

That being said, am sure the time will come for Spice Girls and the like to make their mark again.

Bit of a left field suggestion but Pete Tong is doing his Ibiza classics tour with orchestra in June and July and has the Glasto weekend free.

Certainly a possibility for a slot similar to Hacienda Classical in 2017.

Yeah get that on as Pyramid opener

Madona, Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, AC/DC, reformed Daft Punk....

If booking Kendrick when nobody else had him (bar his Thursday rehearsal gig) is only a Gold booking then The Weeknd cannot be a platinum booking. Not having it.

The Discord is great these days. We've got a very nice little community going and a number of genuine ITKers.

    Come check it out.

More of a lurker on there these days as the chat passes by so quickly, but the added forum layout is much improved and obviously plenty of genuine inside info being touted about and good convo alongside it.

Isn't the Discord server largely just Gucci Piggy / Somto Raphael Unigwe and the lads making flags of dentalplan and mounting forum raids and suchlike larks? Do they actually know anything?

They've got their own section for that sort of whacky behaviour. Still a sizeable chunk of good festival chat going on and old posters from here bringing solid info, such as BSR.

Don't. Based on recent posts (and massive pinches of salt, obviously) I now have a Sunday night fear of Elton vs Iggy Pop vs Jamiroquai.  All three of those would be great headliners for me!

Hope you don't like Prodigy who will no doubt be on Other

Jamiroquai is free Friday (unlikely) and Sunday. WH headline Sunday would work (maybe too big/ mainstream for WH?)

JayKay turning up to headline Sunday to an empty West Holts field cos everyone else is at Elton and throwing a massive hissy fit would be #topbantz

Still vaguely wonder when The Libertines will disintegrate. They just appear to be sustaining on pure vibes, which isn't too different to their whole existence in the first place.

Tbh wouldn't mind some new material from them. Anthems For Doomed Youth was actually pretty good all things considered. Though they seem pretty happy doing what they're doing at the moment.

Erm, no idea if it's any good, but picked up a can of Salt Ikat earlier, it was just calling me... From Tesco!!! Haven't looked at their beer range for ages, and was genuinely shocked by how much better it looks to be now, so many beers I haven't tried. No doubt their range is never gonna please any of you real craft aficionados, but it's a hell of a lot more interesting than it was.

I don't drink at home so pretty much all my craft beer comes from drinking in my craft beer place. It's a fairly good sign I think supermarkets are carrying big brand craft beer that the market is there, but not sure how good it is for the smaller craft beer companies in the long run?

A while ago when I did a dry spell I sampled loads of AF beers including all those mentioned above. My personal fave was Adnams Ghost Ship AF. I’m not actually huge IPA fan normally, but I found the AF IPA type beers better than the lagers, because they still had a taste to them.

Something about the lagers, including lucky Saint, meant I just necked them like I would a soft drink, rather than drink them more slowly like a normal alcoholic beer.

Completely agree on needing AF beers to be IPAs, only had a couple of lagers that I drunk at the same speed as a normal beer. Rest are too watery, flavourless and just get necked in 10 mins.

Its crazy Clapton has never played.

It's not though really, is it?

The bloke literally inspired an anti-racist movement in Rock Against Racism. Why would the festival want to go near him

To be honest - though it is far from a death knell - the news they are topping Parklife is probably the nail in the coffin for Pyramid Stage. That's painful.

Stormzy headlined Snowbombing the same year he headlined Glastonbury.
