Yep, and yes there was the queuing for Woodland but the acts were definitely bigger this year, people who would have headlined previously were subs. With the addition of a new big top next year,  I'm confident the issue will go away.

Couldn't believe how small the Woodland stage was given the acts that were on the bill there

There's plenty  of acts could sell that number quicker

Plenty of acts who couldn't but still headline Glastonbury.

I probably wouldn't see them on the farm, and I don't think it's a forwards looking booking, but that's not to say they're not big enough to do it. I'm 33yo and everyone roughly my age would know 10+ GnR songs but would barely recognise anything beyond 1-2 Cure songs.

Several years to not sell them out is slow sales.

But selling them out at 85% is still shifting 100,000+ tickets. Regardless of your opinion of the band, that's a gargantuan amount of sales.

There does seem to be an awful lot of pearl clutching going on in the Bearded Chat Facebook group (I know, I know) but nothing the new organisers have said or done so far has me concerned.

This year was my first Bearded and the atmosphere and spirit of the festival was (to me anyway) exactly as people described on here previously.

I’ve been hit with the ban hammer!  @Neilsaid on twitter that he has had to ban a few IPs because of trouble makers. One of the ones he banned must be the one my EE phone uses. I’m having to use a vpn to use the forums. Why does this happen when I have a deadly quiet shift at work?

Any chance of lifting the ban on the IPs that mobiles use?  It’s my weekend on and the thought of it without Efests is grim

I'm in the same boat mate, don't worry. @incidentmentioned earlier that some IP bans affect multiple users. I'm able to access the site on WiFi and VPN so clearly its something to do with the IP banning Neil has done today.

There's thousands of people trying for tickets, vast majority won't know what sort of performance that Axl and the lads are putting in recently. They'll just hear Guns N Roses and immediately be down for it cos they're still a huge name.

    Expand

a huge naame with slow ticket sales over several summers.

Nearly selling out multiple stadium dates isn't slow ticket sales though, really, especially with all the post-lockdown competition. Blur struggled to sell out a single Hyde Park date last time out. NGHFB outsold The Magic Whip, doesn't mean Noel is gonna headline over Blur.

GnR are objectively a heritage act with a hugely popular back catalogue and still a massive ticket shifter. They're prime Pyramid headliner material.

It's not that I don't like them, it's that they're the exact opposite of what most people would think of as a suitable headliner for 2023.

Same could be said for The Cure in 2019, at least GnR are a new headliner.

They'll go down very well with the Glasto Chat crowd who'd rather Glastonbury book the Chillis as opposed to Kendrick

Seriously not watching that rubbish. People will be handing their tickets back in the thousands.

They're the exact sort of band that a lot of people ask for instead of what rapper or pop singer gets announced.

Hardest slot to pull off but they've all got the chops for it. Can still see Lizzo being 3rd down mind. Could also see QOTSA subbing Arctics as opposed to headlining Other, Homme and Turner are best buds so they're definitely an act I can see them agreeing to play under.

Also wouldn't surprise me if Pulp was a surprise afternoon set on the period like Aerosmith was lined up to be.

  12. Rihanna rumours just seems typical tabloid stuff. It's obvious Taylor isn't about next year, and Rhianna's just made her comeback and is getting that hype so it's an easy, topically relevant rumour to come up with.

it means the ip address you're using is banned. some ip address ranges have been banned today, it might have been targeted at you, it might not have been.

Why would you try and ban my IP address? I have one account and only ever use my 4G or WiFi. Utterly bizarre. I get there's a load of troll accounts causing you grief but handing bans out to genuine posters is ridiculous.

am i trying to ban your account? your psychic skills aren't working properly.

I'm a twat for having a different opinion? Clearly something is up if I keep getting this when not using a VPN

just to put the names out there my predictions

    pulp

    blur

    dua lipa

You think Pulp are gonna headline, despite them being already announced for IOW, Latitude and Neighbourhood? But the thought of GnR doing it is ridiculous? Wowsers.

Would be interesting to know if it was only Natwest or if anyone had issues with other banks?

Everyone I've seen mention it seems to bank with Natwest, so thought I'd ask the question in the thread if it's just them where people have had issues.

  17. So seems myself and a few others got through to purchase tickets, however after we approved the purchase on our banking app, the payment didn't process. Who else had this problem? Seems like the majority have been on NatWest.

Did those who got tickets last night do so having approved on their banking app? Who do you bank with?

Seems ridiculous if there's a problem with mandatory two-factor authentication or with a specific bank. Means swathes of people simply wouldn't be able to buy a ticket.

I had to approve payment in my banking app… they held the tickets for 5 mins I think? I made sure the phone my banking app is on was free and not being used for tickets

Not sure they're actually held for those 5 mins as me and others did the same as you but got kicked out/payment not gone through.

Exactly the same here. Was in 6:04, details entered, coach selected, tickets held, card accepted, authorised payment straight away on bank app, then sat and looked at the "processing payment " message as the 5 minute counter went down to 0.

This is exactly what happened to my mate. Was on the phone to her. Just ticked down to 0 whilst processing payment and they disappeared.
