How many are you planning on taking?
Not sure yet. The shop I just bought these from said they might be able to arrange a case of one that I particularly like. I reckon 15-18 tops. I really don't drink that much and will be topping up with a few cold pints on site.

Started getting my ales together. Hope they make it as far as the festival....

How early do you need to get there to get a decent spot?
Honestly, I'd say just turn up when you're ready, but don't be put off if you hit a crowd, people just stop when they get near and make it seem busy when there's plenty of space if you move around
-
That was hard work. Once you made it into the inner circle it was great though.
Really? We were in front of one of the speakers at the back of the filed and had acres of space to dance around in. Had the time of our lives! I love it up there in it's new home. 2013 was dreadful.
Gonna have to do some research, I know nothing about any of the names on there.
Enjoying this at the moment though:

Hurray! Probably the worst thing at the festival.
No, it won't make a difference this year, although I found 2014 better than 2013 for it, so maybe it is dying off. Maybe I'm being foolishly optimistic.

I've always thought if they were marketed a bit differently and didn't rise so quickly with so much hype attached, they'd be a lot less hated. After all, they're not exactly miles away from stuff like The xx and Wild Beasts and Four Tet. Then again I'm not a fan of alt-J and I am a fan of those three listed so kinda makes me a hypocrite.
Couldn't agree more (whilst I love WB and like most XX and alt-j stuff, I just can't get into Four Tet for the lid of me). I fully believe their meteoric rise is what drives the hate, which is what I meant by my mainstream music comment.
-
I don't get the hate. It's like people on here would rather mainstream music not evolve. Sure, the second album was hugely disappointing, but the debut was a breath of fresh air. They did something that wasn't really happening at the time. It was full of depth and texture.
The first couple of times I saw them live (as Alt-J and not under they're previous monikers) they were great - but that was at Liverpool academy and a church, fairly intimate venues. The larger stages just don't work so I can see why people would be put off. But to write them off after watching part of a set on a big stage is just daft.

Nice spot. JESuS on the Thursday is going to be rammed.
Yeah, my first thought was 'well that's Thursday night sorted', then I realised it'll be like Williams Green when Alt-J played - packed to the rafters.

I took this one on the Wednesday Evening from the viewing area. One of my favourite things is a hazy sunset with hills disappearing off into the distance. As I sat there, taking it all in, a hot air balloon suddenly drifted into the scene.

I don't think it's fair to call bringing negative vibes to the weather thread 'trolling'. This isn't NFC NFR over here.
It's a reality that rain and storms have a good chance of attending the festival with us. I, for one, am expecting them.

I believe it was the Sunday of '07 and whilst our group had agreed to head down to the tent in the old dance village, only two of us got up in time. My companion emptied the week's Magic powder that he'd been collecting in his herb grinder and into huge cigarette and set off, getting a spot on the damp hay in front of the stage.
Everyone was lying around all chilled, many hadn't been to bed yet. He was due on at 10am but as far as I remember, he was late. He told a tale about licking a toad in South America, going into great detail about the circumstances and the trip he got from the hallucinogenic properties of the toad's skin. He was pretty incoherent for the whole thing, his projector stopped working, the remote wouldn't respond at key moments and at one point he walked off for five minutes in frustration. As we smoked our breakfast though, we cared less and less about these issues and were drawn in by his charisma and the comedy of the scene.
When he did finish, we noticed many more people had gathered around the tent and were standing at the back. An hour had flown by and everyone seemed ready to start the day. Unfortunately, our breakfast was so nutritious, we couldn't stand up. We'd failed to notice all the feeling drain from the lower half of our bodies so we just had to lay there for I don't know how long until our friends came to find us and managed to get us moving.
And that's all I really remember about that.

God I hope it's not horrendous weather, going with my mates and it'll all be their first times. I fear they may never return!
2007 was my first and whilst I didn't do immediately, I never considered not going back.

Ohhhhhhhh.
Yeah, not familiar enough with that to make the connection. It's a good one though.

Slamboree will be f-ing brilliant in there too

Cool. We now have SFA, Howard Marks and the guy from Sparks.
Please explain...

Surely the whole thing will be out by next Monday? If it starts getting into June it's getting a bit stupid
Why? Even if it's out on 8th, there's still over two weeks before gates open. We were told to expect a full line-up in June
What have you done to get ready for Glastonbury 2015?

Got the tent out in the garden and gave it a good clean, airing and then packed it well enough for a speedy erection upon arrival. Got me very excited.
