Cheers Rob - are they really that bad? One of the only negatives for the last few years has been the trek to and from the car back breakingly laid down with the kit!

If they still the same ones I found them really awkward and kept tipping over. We have bought one of the 4 wheel garden trolley jobs. Makes it so much easier.

Only 4 days to go! Question- we've resurrected an old tent - it's good to go but it is a heavy so and so - I've seen those fabric barrows piled up in lock ups at Kendal but nobody ever seems to use them! Anyone hired these? How much? Any good?

We used one in our 1st year. If they're still the same they are a pain the arse. Buy a trolley instead

Pm me your address mate and will send you 1

Cheers boss, a lass on FB has already said she'll post me one so I think I'm sorted. Will give you a shout if falls through for whatever reason if you don't mind. Such a shitty shitshit rule though!

Sorry can't help mate as only have one and I'll need it.

I take it your doing a 2 car operation ?

Is the position then that in future you should make 2 separate bookings ?

This would probably mean increased postage costs so doesn't seem fair. I would contact the festival office and explain the situation. Doubt the ticket agent will entertain you. They'll say one booking for 2 adults therefore one car voucher.

Alternatively get a decent colour photocopy on card and cut out the wee hanger shape. As you say, parking is free In emperors and if you get stopped you've obviously got your paper emperors ticket you can show them.

    Good luck getting sorted.

Cheers chief, annoying thing is they made an 'IT error' on the website so it looked like we had two car park tickets so I never was concerned. Of course although they note the error they don't apologise. Next year not a problem as have to get 4* adult tickets after this year!

    Wondering about arrival time.

Last year I arrived on the Thursday about 1pm and had no problem , no queues to get in. We were in Deer Lodge.

This year Im in the live in vehicles and was thinking of arriving about 12pm, but with more bands and an earlier start on Thursday this year, and I'm assuming more Thursday tickets have been sold as they are still on sale now, is it wise to get there earlier or will lunchtime arrival be fine.

I'm wondering if Thursday is going to be alot busier this year than last year.

I know we'll get in no matter what but want to get set up with van and awning and start relaxing (beer drinking!) as soon as possible :)

less Thursday tickets have I think been sold this year hence why they've added the Mondays. Thursday tickets still on sale!

Defo not a county thing I like mr grump and he's from Yorkshire!

The Hotpots are just shit nothing else to say just shit !

nothing to do with County, I'm from Lancashire and coincidentally also love Hotpot (so not a food thing either) but that 'band' are turd. The noise they produce isn't even music....

& yes I've got a major cobb-on as I've spent the last day arguing with ticketline about a free parking ticket they haven't sent me (see other thread!!!)

  7. Hi Ali, a bit stuck if anyone can help?

We're after a spare Emperors car parking ticket (the free ones included with emperors). They only sent us 1 pass with our 6 tickets this year as we're only 2 adults, last year they sent 2 out automatically!

Does anyone by any chance have one they don't need?

Going in Emperor's Field for the first time this year, but I note there are three camping areas (Early Risers, Family Fun and Late Night Owls).  We are definitely not early risers and whilst we have 15 year girls in our party I am wondering whether Family Fun is aimed the younger families attending.  We can't make the mind up between that and Late Night Owls, but worry that the latter will be a little too rowdy :-),

Any advice from others that have stayed in Emperor's appreciated.

We star in Emperors also (2 Adults, 2 15 year old girls and 2 12 year old boys). we stay in the late night owls section. the main noise you get late at night is from the glow tent, if your girls are anything like ours they'll be in there! Although it states late night owls it is not like the wolf woods section whatsoever!

No need for bellies. Most waterproof jackets have a great invention called a hood. Use em folks.

Yeah you tell'em, use your hoods and lose some weight fatties!

Yep...... should start from front in rows of small people, in height order to the back for all the giants.

I'd probably be in the middle.

    with a half decent view.

excellent, I'd be front row or possibly even on stage!

Admittedly i'm a little obsessed with checking the weather forecast at the minute, mainly due to the fact 2014 was my last kendal calling and the rain definately put a dampener on the weekend for me (mainly due to festival inexperience and not packing the right stuff). However, according to accuweather the whole weekend is due to be dry (as it stands) but a week of rain beforehand. Reckon i'm right in thinking this may make for a bit of mud but nothing too bad which will be a result!

I'm never confident until the Sunday/Monday before (&even then!) but must confess this ain't looking woeful (despite the Sunday SUB-headliner). Already made the 'no Wellie' decision though!

Hi all, first time to KC and we are coming up on the Thursday, not sure what time we can get there yet - do they open all the campsites on Thursday so it will be easy enough to get a spot no matter what time we arrive? Cheers.

yes camp opens at 9 (proviso you have Thursday entry tickets). Obviously the earlier you get there the more choice you will have with where you want to pitch but you'll defo get a good spit whenever you arrive. They haven't sold out Thursday tickets (hence the Mondays addition) so there'll be ample space. Arena opens at 5 although someone said it'll be at 3 this year so I'd try to factor in being in, set and ready to go by then.

There won't be anyone major on stage until around 5pm unless you're interested in the lower down line up

I actually misread your earlier messages and thought that the Mondays were on at 3! I only be mildly pissed by then!

Theyre using the happy mondays as main support to franz. Looks like theyre opening the stage at 3pm this year

Really? 3pm? They best have the gates/ traffic working smooth then otherwise there will be a lot of people not even set up camp by then

Slightly annoyed as it's too late for me to get the Thursday off work, seen them 7 or 8 times before and always been brilliantly shambolic.  People there will have a blast

To be honest your voice sounds v creaky. Are you sure you're not coming down with something? Will only get worse in the next 14 days or so!

hotpots moved to thursday would be very special !

    i bloody hope not.

I'm happy enough with them opening the main stage on the Sunday, means I will be anywhere but the main stage at opening time on the Sunday. I'd possibly even consider the Urine Swamp stage if that was to return from 2014!

  17. supposed to be a big announcement at 7 tonight regards thursday addition?

thought it might just be a By The Rivers Chai Wallahs replacement but this seems like more than that?

if it is a big one I'd guess that Thursday tickets will fly so if you're thinking I'd purchase before then

what time does it kick off on thrusday?
Id booked a hotel the Thursday thinking we'd be arriving very late after work on the Thursday night, now were leaving lunch time Im wondering if a Thursday ticket would be money better spent (can cancel hotel)

5ish, Thursdays are really quite chilled, few indie bands on, couple of beers and the bonus of being up all set up campwise by the time the carnage happens around you on the Friday!
