liking the fact we got days splits so early, plenty I like on all days, plenty of clashes throughout the weekend though to decide

Im surprised by the negativity towards the main stage on the Sunday, I know its not the indie nostalgia fest that we expect at Kendal calling but never get a full weekend of that

Nothing but thieves> Slaves > Seasick Steve > Frank Turner > TInie Tempah isn't a bad run of acts in my opinion

Pleased White have got a main stage slot too

I think it is the divisiveness of the last two acts, if Tinie was swapped for the Manics there wouldn't be anything like as many complaints in my view. There was also a lot of people on FB who thought Frank Turner should be above Tinie.

For me there is only Nothing but thieves that I am half interested in seeing. I'd watch Seasick again if the weather is nice supping a beer on the hill and Mrs BR wants to see Tinie.

    Completely agree with you there.

Heaving? It will be absolutely rammed, a bit like the secret Killers set at Glastonbury! They'll be stood 10 deep outside to avoid the rain-monger!

They haven't given the splits for Jaegar tent but as Frank Typhoon is headlining there also then guessing it'll be after his mainstage set. Do they realise what they've booked? Can you drink Jaegar in a cardigan? Do you have to put the tambourine down first?

Good spot Mick, can't remember them releasing daily splits this early before.

Never seen them do this before either but pretty handy... Frank Turner on same time as Coral??? Calling out will be heaving

Anyone know what the phone charging lockers are like, do they have plug sockets in to charge other things aswell?

The one in emperor's is just a stall where you hand over your phone and charger and can pick it up stupid hours later. Imagine the main camping one will be the same

Shame it wasn't Sunday unless they're playing late

They've just messaged me (v early for dj's?!?) that think they're on after the main stage bands finish

Me too, they're playing house party tent but no words on their web which day. They do do sets with Tim Burgess though so wouldn't be surprised for them to play a set at his coffee shack. I'll ask them what day on FB and let know if they respond.

Well that was a quick response! They're not sure on time but playing Friday night.

That sounds my sort of thing as well, I'll keep an eye out for them playing

  8. Agree, started even seeing people cordoning off their own private spaces with beach windbreakers. For security first advice you're given is get to know your neighbours, not sure how you can when the first message you get is 'this is our space, you're not welcome'.

    Ahh never thought of that.

Clashes on Friday and Saturday are madness when you look at Sunday's lineup.

Sunday looking like a pub crawl to include real ale, kracken and strongbow tree followed by collapsing in front of seasick steve !

Let's just hope the monsoon doesn't start until after Steve strums his last note! I showed Mrs BR the Sunday lineup and was pretty happy as we'll get to spend more time in Chai Wallahs! She's v fond of the Tea in there and gets too pissed when the main stage lineup is back2back strong. If that Saturday lineup is right she'll be nursing a nasty hangover on Sunday!

I didn't go Kendal last year but is the car park next to the Emperors field or is there a short trek now??

It is the field next to it so maybe worse parking to where you decide to pitch 300yards or so?

KC confirmed he is playing Main stage on Sunday, but not if he is headlining or not. I'd say he is a bigger act that Tiny Tempah. He has had a couple of big singles, but Frank has an impressive back catalog.

think it was Thurlow who said Tinie was closing. I would guess that his music would be more suited to the end of festival fire works also? (not that I know either act at all really)

    Morning all.

Firstly, hello. First trip to KC for us this year. Travelling with friends and 4 x assorted youngsters & teenagers. We're getting there early on the Thursday to set both tents up. Thanks to ramragon for setting this thread up. It's been a good read and answered questions I didn't even know I had. :o)

I've just noticed on the KC twitter feed that there are Emperor Fields tickets available on re-sale this Friday. A few questions:

I can't remember how much they were originally. Any idea how much they will be? Is it "per person"?

Other than it being quieter, what other advantages are there over Family Camping (which we've already booked)?

    And a few non-EF questions:

I'm getting the impression that it's a bit tight for space generally there? Am I right? It's only because we have a 4.5 year old and I'm wondering how he'll handle his first festival if it's absolutely heaving (well, more wondering whether we'll handle it rather than him).

Do they do rental of those tug-along carts so he can chill out under a sleeping bag later in the evening to save us (both) having to go back to camp too early. Or should we just get one and use it to get all our shite to and from the car as well.:D

    Thanks for any help.

Emperors isn't quieter, its closer to the arena so you hear the music until close (3am+ish), I think they were about £60ish per person and half that for kids but I pay by monthly dd so often get this confused!.

If you're in main camping the family camping areas are to the left as you go down the hill from the main entrance, further left you go the more space you'll get. (Hint if you're putting up two tents put them virtually opposite each other (not too far though!) and put up a camp table/ some chairs between them and that'll give you the space you need!)

no they don't hire out the tug-alongs, however at the back of the main stage crowd is a hill, loads of families just put a picnic blanket down and you see kids crashed out under a blanket so mums& dads can stay and watch the headliners etc

The field might be too busy. I'll go with the majority:-)

The traditional real ale tent would be my choice.

The Mustard Meet could be a separate event. If it's happening I will of course invite Colonel John Thomas Mustard and the djancer as well as the rest of the yellow movement.

Are not the Colonel Mootard Teletubbies opening the Saturday (is this confirmed and is it Main Stage or Tiny Tim Peaks?)? If so the bar won't be open before hand.

Saturday good for us though, 'Old' Real Ale Tent straight after the Mootards set finished perhaps? frankly I'll there whenever/ wherever the call is made!
