Come back Sailor Jerry bus !

Dont mind kracken either so drinks wise I'm sorted but the bus has great tunes and fun going on all the time

Completely agree, jug of sailors and ginger with the djs pumping out Aretha Franklin on a sunny afternoon followed by a dadnap on the mainstage hill makes one happy bottonrob!

  2. We got the hump with last year's theme and went as Vikings instead. It was hot so we changed back into civies later on. Lent our costumes to the large hairy men in the tent next door who ended up gangbanging a proper ropey looking Belinda Carlisle, it looked more like a cross between Jasper Carrot and Susan Boyle to be honest.

Nice one. Saturday is looking good. Is he subbing main do we know?

You're guess is as good as mine, even if not subbing he'd be no earlier than the 6ish slot.

Its not fair leaving it this late!! I need to know..

I have now had to buy a thursday ticket as all my faves are on bloody thursday which means I will have to leave on sunday afternoon now ( childcare). If i find out when I get there that Brian Wilson is on Sunday I am going to be seriously PISSED OFF

Brian is playing Saturday according to his own website (is at Bestival on the Sunday!)

I admit this song isn't their finest hour.

Heres the deal, you get yourself down the main stage early on Saturday, in your Belinda Carlisle jammies if need be, and if you or any of your crew don't have a good time then it's my round.

You'll love it. Trust me :-)

Deal, is this acting as the official efest meet up then? Can't wait to some more of their stuff, do they do any Teletubbies covers?

Colonel John Thomas Mustard and the Dijon 5 opening the main stage on Saturday. I`ve just bought a sweatshirt for the occasion. They will need every penny after clearly blowing all the dough on this video for their new single.

Never actually listened to any of these before but thought with all the harping on you've done over the last 3+ years I should really have a look....

Wtf is this shit, are they playing the CBeebies tent? They'll been subbing to the Teletubbies next year and the weird Justin Feckwits chap. Christ.

Strongbow tree thing was good last year. Decent tunes and could normally find a seat. Wouldn`t have been up to much without the good weather though. Was the lake thing something to do with virgin rail`s birthday and a one off *

    * I could be talking shite but I remember going down a wee visit. Was muddy and the bar was a fortune but proper toilets was good.

Oh could've been but imagine if people didn't decide to take a dip they might've considered putting a stage there year on year. Is a fab spot!

Aye, we have this problem every year. It's a shame for the reasons you give.

im not on Facebook so always appreciate the efforts folk on here go to to find and share who's playing when.

Its daft nowadays anyway as the first person to get a lanyard photographs it and posts it on twitter.

( I'm not on that either so if someone could maybe post the lanyard pictures on here I'd be most grateful :-) and buy you a pint of course. )

If someone could please chisel a copy of the lanyard for CNumb please and ideally send it north by pigeon that would be greatly appreciated. He'd be very happy to reward with 4 gills of ale.

  9. Jaegaarhaas is still listed but Strongbow stage area isn't so could be swap for that (although they're still listed as a sponsor!) Saying that I don't recall them it being listed last year so could just be a newbie stage, not sure where though can't imagine they'd dare put by the lake again after the feckwits ruined it 2 year back!

So I have never been to a festival where there are families and children etc, are the also groups of young adults and also are there fair ground rides e.g waltzers etc. And can you go back to your car to make extra trips rather than hauling everything in at once ? Thanks

Yes there are lots and lots of 15-20 age group (8-10,000 at a guess?), they all tend to camp near the main entrance/ glow tent. There's a couple of rides but no waltzers, there's also a large area for younger -8? age with bouncy slides etc. You're allowed to venture back and forth but security have been know to get a tad pissed off if you're doing this when the entrance Q's are at the busiest. Hint make friends/ have banter with the security teams, they're generally the same chaps all weekend and will remember you good or bad!

  11. Further up between the two entrances to woodlands etc. It's the only other bar that sells a range of real ales, has about a dozen picnic style tables in the tent and maybe 8 or 9 out front

Never tried Ghandis. Never fancy curry and festival loos but might give it a go this year.

You should do, it's not just curries though and if you get in early or are just lucky you can get the large bed coach at the back with all the cushions and comfort eat a hangover!

Got on this - thought it was a great idea, and first time at Kendal Calling for me!

Is Emperors Field worth it? How much were tickets for EF last year?

Think they're about £60 (happy to be corrected). For me definitely worth as my joints are knackered and the closer walk to car and arena is a blessing. I would say though that the benefits of EF have been eroded in the last few years due to the main camping improvements, the over selling (& lack of tentspace moderation!!!) of EF and the removal of certain EF benefits (free mobile charging and no longer being able to buy a double espresso). They tried to fix last year by creating an EF family camping zone but didn't direct families with young kids to that area so you still have the group's cordoning off large areas which results in other campers being crammed in. I do miss my morning double espresso!

The killers would be good Saturn5. Their first album was ace. They played at Leeds a fair few years ago when I was there.

Killers would be a perfect KC headline. I am really looking forward to both manics and Stereophonics this year, all with a great string of 'singy' hits that KC headlines (to me) should be all about. Singing along with Noel last year was one of my 'just yes' moments, don't like to set myself up for a fall but big hopes for a handbags 2017 memory.

thanks, go they allow gazebos at Kendal? may go for a smaller tent and chuck one of those above!

officially no, I've seen loads up in the past and only heard of 1 or 2 occasions where security staff have demanded they be taken down. It probably depends where you intend on camping, ie the less of a busier area you go for the more likely you'll get away with it.

is this the radio 6 one?

So is the theme primarily for saturday...I wondered how this worked

yep just the Saturday, if the same as other years will be around maybe 30-40% dress up, they did a world record attempt one year, most supermans in a field or something which upped the dress up numbers a bit but don't think there has been anything like that since.

the theme has been shit for the last 2 years.. really need a good one this year?

maybe the lost artists of 2016..

they have announced the theme being 'the wild', so wild animal dress up basically. Haven't worked out what we're doing yet but will be doing something (merely to embarrass the teenage girl of nothing else!)

Does that include Thursday sir ?

Any rumours on Belinda C that have led you to get your cash down early ?

4 adults & 2 teens Thurs and tickets comes through at £912 but £60 a month is a lot more palatable!  Will sort the emporers when they come on. Haven't sent the lovely Belinda a facebook message for a while actually or hid in her garden tree that has that great view into her bedroom window.
