Oh forgot to add, as usual no 'regulars' allowed!

Hi all, with the news that the line-up is 'Coming-Soon' probs time to roll out the line up Prediction game again. 20 choices, as many changes as you like with your final guesses to be in prior to 1st announcement. With @thurlow84 now reborn as a cockney wideboy, the game is anybodies!

we camp in emperors maybe 50 yards from the arena entrance, both distance to car and distance to arena is under 5mins walking time max

Nope.

Is this fine do when staying in general camping? Do you have to go back through security etc, how long would a trip take roughly?
Thanks
15 maybe 20 minute leasurely stroll depending on how far away you get parked and how close you camp.

Brilliant thank you ☺️
The last festival I was at was the Wickerman where security etc was before you entered the car park. You then went straight to pitching your tent and there was a tent in the campsite to get your wristbands. We are in deer lodge At KC, can anyone advise if after we park up are we best to take just some of our belongings and then go back for the rest once we have our wristbands and found our tipee? As I am guessing there will be a large queue with security being there also and don’t want to have to stand for a while with all our stuff. Is it easy enough to get back and forth to your car? Thank you in advance.
Yep is is easy enough, not sure if this will change with deer park moving this year but we generally (in Emporers) just grab the tents, get our bands, pitch then go back and forth for the other stuff

If it happens it happens, we had 1 year when my daughter was desperate to see Ella Eyre who cancelled at last minute (was announced on the day she was due to perform!) Rheannon was distraught so we walked around talking loudly with each other about Ella cancelling as she had the shits. We actually overheard a group of girls talking about it later!

To be honest I leave about half my beers in the car and get them on Saturday morning.

Hopefully if it rains it's only brief.
Agreed 2-3 hours Fri eve, annoyingly though looks scheduled for White Lies and James. At least Dub Pistols will be in the sunshine by the looks of things

A scheduling clash? Seems really odd that no one realised until now

Do you drive all the way round the site to get to the Emperor's car park or through the campsite?
no you diverted off about 3/4 of the way around and come up from the bottom of the pick

Afternoon - not long now :-)
A few first time questions -
We are in Emperors. When we arrive (on Thursday), we park up, grab our tent and do we pick anywhere in the field, or do you follow on from the tents already there (like when you go to park up in a carpark and you are directed to the next space?. Just trying to see where from the map we would like to be.
Yes Pick anywhere in the field it is up to you. Personally we like to go about 50 yards from the arena entrance but the closer you are to there the more hemmed in you are.
On the map it doesn't show where the toilets are in Emperors or if there's any food traders for that area (I thought there was but could be wrong), is this just due to the limited space on the map?
I have tried to finish the map (poorly!) below
Is the carpark for Emporers likely to be just below the area marked on the map (but not on show due to space?)
Do i need to decant my gin from the glass bottle purchased in, into a plastic bottle?
Yes definitely no glass
Can you hire a wheelbarrow to shift your stuff (approx price if so?).
Never seem them in Emperors but we are the next field??
Thank you all, can't wait to get in the fields :-)
See you in the fields!!!

Anyone got an advice for the size of tents we should bring. We have one (about 2.5m by 4.5m one) which our mates say should be fine but we don't want to be those twats with the massive tent. Equally, I don't want a tiny 2 man pop up one cos I'm too old for naps in the day in something that small when its hot
be those twats with the massive tent

Thoughts on maybe Miles Kane showing up on the Thursday as the so far unannounced artist? Got a gap in his schedule, new album due out and someone said it's just going to be a solo artist?
Apparently KC said the one more artist comment was an error

Yes... and round near the real ale tent at Emporers entrance. Hmmm, real ale tent has moved too! @bottonrob is this still the meeting place on saturday? It has moved hasn’t it?
The people said main real ale tent so that is where we shall be! No word from the likes of @ramragonor @thurlow84 yet though

So clear favourite is for Saturday at noon in main real ale bar. I will try to get in a bit earlier so we can an outside table in the scorchio weather!
Really getting giddy now!

Hi, first time at KC this year, just wondering
1.how does it work if you get dropped off there rather than having a car for the weekend, me and my pals are just getting a lift from parents since we all want to drink all weekend, will we be able to get parked anywhere and go back and forth with bags or will we have to just get dropped at the entrance and walk up with all our stuff in one go?
2.Some of us are still 17, will we still be okay taking drink in that’s reasonably well hidden?
3. Any general tips on saving money, keeping your stuff safe etc?
Thanks ?
You will get dropped at the drop-off point where you will need to take all your stuff, the gate is about 100yard walk from there. If you are struggling you may want to chip in for a sherpa at this point.

Shimmer band Definitely started just after 3ish last year but like Lochland said lot less set up involved in solo stuff.

The info pack says arena opens at 5pm on Thursday. That seems very late, surely won’t get all the bands on. Didn’t it open earlier last/ previous years?
5 has been pretty standard since they started putting acts on Thursdays. Last year was 3ish but bands didn't start to maybe 4:30

Considering not going now. This is the last straw.
Wonder if we all put a complaint in about something banal we could get it banned next week. Unpasteurised cheese for example.

I love the ban on selfie sticks
