    It would be.

But lets be honest here, how many of the current attendees were around last time McCartney played - let alone The Cure? It's a total guess but I'd be surprised if the numbers were above 10% and 5% respectively.

Oh yeah I don’t mean that we’ve all already seen them - I’ve only seen one and won’t be making the mistake again.

I just mean a first-time Glasto headline slot is special for the artist and special for the fans to see. Watching a set that will be immediately contrast against previous sets closer to the artists’ prime obviously isn’t.

Perhaps because certain sections of society feel that it's not really somewhere where they'd feel welcome and the festival wants to remedy that?

Changing the lineup won’t mean nowt if it’s £250+ to get in and £60+ to get there.

  3. Is this the first time it’s been three repeats? That’s what I like least about this prospective trio tbh. Adding Madonna or Fleetwood Mac isn’t gonna flip the clientele,  neither is Stormzy or The 1975. If Kylie plays Sunday then that’s gonna be a bigger thing than some of these headliners so that’s something at least.

Don’t really think that will be the three headliners personally. Almost every time we have felt like we had the picture this early on, it’s been somewhat different.

I know Fridays are the day where everything tends to be released now, how come that isn't the case for singles?

I noticed that Yhandi is supposed to come out Saturday (29th Sep). Not like Kanye to stick to conventions I guess.

They normally debut singles on Thursdays now. Only reason I can think is that if it’s released at 00:00 in the Eastern Hemisphere, it’ll be morning in the US so they might as well push the single out in one go or else it’ll get ripped and uploaded elsewhere during the day, missing out on valuable streams.

I suppose doing that for albums would be kinda dumb to count sales from mid-afternoon Thursday.

Weird, I was in America last year for a long period of time. Gambino was a musical staple there. I'm pretty shocked to here that, I'd see him as massively more popular than all three of those artists. I'd of loved to have heard what else he can do.

    This isn’t America.

Frank ocean wont headline other lol, would suspect he is way more expensive then kendrick as well and therefor more expensive than any of the 3 suggested headliner.

Wot? He played Parklife and Lovebox last year. If they could get Arctic Monkeys and Kendrick Lamar cheaper respectively then why the hell haven’t they?

    2 minutes ago, Radi0Head said:

How come you think Gambino is done? He's had three albums, two of which were hugely successful. Donald Glover is an incredibly talented entertainer, I can only see him progressing further.

That said given he's coming to the UK soon, I doubt he will be at Glastonbury. And an Other headliner would be insulting for him.

He had said he’s retiring (as Childidh Gambino) a number of times. And he played below Florence and the Machine and alt-J at BBK Live this year so I dunno how insulted he could be at headlining second stage at Glastonbury. I agree he won’t be on tour though.

  7. Seen a leaked (maybe fake so cba posting it here) Metallica tour with a massive Glasto shaped hole mid-tour. Not that I'm speculating about them returning to play but it's fantastic to see that Lars is still so totally in love with the place that he's taking time out of entertaining tens of thousands of fans to do what we do; trudge around fields, eating baguettes and stuff.

deffo legit, i took that screenshot off a video some dude posted on the barca rocks festival. He was in a car that drove past that bus

I did believe it, just covering myself in case someone came along and debunked it. :D

Dunno if this one is legit but it looks to be the same design as the bus. Would maybe swing Ghost back into being out.

I think if they moved from Worthy Farm I’d reconsider going. The Farm is the heart and soul of the place.

But the people are the heart and soul though, really, aren't they?

Like if the festival was forced to move up to the Midlands but they arranged it with all the same care and attention as the festival now, and it shared the ethos and stuff - and then Live Nation bought the current grounds and piggybacked off that with a crap knock-off.  The real festival would be the former, surely?

I've seen it's all 3 supporting but I personally think it'll be those 3 as main support split across the dates but we shall see.

Yeah I don't see it being those three at all. In fact, if that bus bumper up the page is legit, then they have Ghost and Bokassa supporting in Barcelona then I think three blockbuster supports in the UK is ruled out. Looking into who Bokassa are (had to make sure it wasn't just a bus route) I guess they'll be the opening support act in the UK as well.

Pretty huge trio that. Even makes the undoubtedly £100+ price tag seem worth it if it's true.

I thought he was saying they're all rumoured for the same 'main support' spot?

Volbeat makes the most sense considering they're too big in Europe to support. And vice versa with A7X here, except the places where they do headline festivals I guess is where Ghost come in.

Looking at the current predictions we desperately need Stormzy or The 1975 headlining to save the trio. I think y'all know who my pick is.

How about someone not British, Mr. Pub Landlord?

Are y'all really still debating Everything Now? I thought we'd all accepted that it was actually good a while ago.

Still good value in 2017 memes, apparently. People I know who hated it have come around to it.

I guess Bestival haven't made a statement because they haven't put tickets on sale, whereas Camp Bestival have and have payment plans running.

I was wondering about this when I read it. I checked the Bestival site for ticket info the other day cos I was a bit sceptical about its future and couldn't find any onsale news. Didn't check Camp Bestival site so that makes sense.

It freaks me out to learn about the guy behind Amigo Loans being a big-time backer for this. Had no clue.

As others have said they're still phenomenal live, the Castlefield gig last year was the best I've seen them, but the albums are coming in to increasingly diminishing returns.

Same with all major bands after they reach a certain point.

Might make Ghost less likely for Download if they’re supporting ‘tallica across all dates. If that’s the case and they miss 2019, I think Ghost will be a headliner next time they play.

Last time they played was subbing the 3rd stage. They quite clearly have to return before headlining, especially considering how far off they are.
