Taking too much. You never need as much stuff as you think you do. Finally learnt it but it took a few festivals when I first started going to realise just how little you actually need to take

Imagine unscrewing that entire bed in that photo that was doing the rounds on the Monday morning.

I genuinely thought this was about drugs until I read your reply

  2. No mistakes from me, stand out was the katsu curry I had somewhere left of the park exit, maybe top of pennards. Probably nothing to write home about during the day, but middle of the night I declared it one the best things I've ever eaten

  3. Re: parliament/funkedelic we sacked it off after about half hour and had the best night I've ever had in the se corner. Think it was the last year of the alleyways

Biggest mistake this year was trying to chase the high on Sunday night. Just ended up a bit monged out and done a ridiculous loop from San remo to se corner then back to lime kiln for bed. Hit the absolute sweet spot Thursday, Friday, Saturday (never take anything on Wednesday)

I should have learnt by now

  4. Incredible set. I can see why he wanted the sunset slot, it's not a night time bangers and lazers show. The whole thing was so much more emotional than I was expecting.

Would liked to have seen him in the Temple, but absolutely no regrets seeing Fatboy.

  5. was in blue 12, it wasn't really clear how to even get out, no clear route to the exit so everyone just kind of drove towards the road exiting to join it, but this meant there was about 50 seperate lines of cars all trying to join a single lane.

One steward walked the official lane of cars telling every driver to not let anyone push in and keep as near to the car in front as possible. I'll be surprised if there wasn't dozens of collisions with everyone trying to keep right up the arse of the car in front, saw loads of close calls.

I said to her how are we supposed to know we are pushing in, no one has any idea how to officially access the exit lane

I seem to remember it was a lot more organised in orange last year, at least there was a bit of roping off and signage here and there so you knew where to go

In blue 12 I didn't see a single sign, and none of it was roped off so how are we expected to know where to go.

  6. pretty normal, camping seemed to fill quicker than ever, but didn't seem any more overcrowded than usual.

Got involved in a couple of pinch points (leaving Fatboy at The Park and leaving The Pyramid after Elton) but everyone just shuffled along calmly without any pushing so just had to be patient.

The forum has no IPs banned currently. The site was down very briefly in the past 30-40 minutes so that could be related. Could you let me know what he saw when he tried to access the site please? Thanks!

was 9.52 when he messaged me

Volunteering with Oxfam from tomorrow and I’m really disappointed by their communications. Given me little instruction on where to go, despite the camping being in a specific spot in the festival site. They have one bus from Bristol which is booked up, and when I asked for more advice on how to get there, they basically just said “it’s difficult” via email and “I don’t know” via the telephone. So, if anyone has any useful info on getting from Castle Cary to Oxfam’s camping, that would be much appreciated.

Son's just texted me to say he's on a crew bus taking him to gate A, there's a couple of other oxfammers on there as well. He said there was an oxfam bus there as well but was full up, so you may end up lucky and get on that

The cab driver I got had done Glastonbury week many times and knew exactly where to go, I think for water aid and oxfam it was winding lake farm? It should say in the welcome email…  It wasn’t a long walk from drop off to the oxfam office.

There wasn't anything in there about a drop off, only advice was to get the coach from Bristol which as @chemica said was already sold out by the time they got their place.

There’s usually lots of volunteers arriving into castle cary atm and it’s easy to share a cab..

That's promising, thanks. Where would they get the cab to? I'm thinking they would need to go to purple gate on the A37 and walk from there. That's the entrance I used when I drove

I was literally about to post the same thing, my son is on his way to Castle Carey now and has no idea how to get to the festival from there.

  12. 2010 I thought was okay, the Saturday in 2019 I struggled with. If that's how fuzzy feels when it's the early twenties I can understand him wanting it cooler. You can't change how your body reacts to something

  13. All this talk about wanting to know the weather before packing baffles me. If it's wet I'll put a pack a mack on, maybe a poncho. Both will be coming with me regardless of the forecast.

If it's cold I'll put my hoody on earlier in the day than usual

Yeah I saw them when they played The Other stage.  Debbie's voice wasn't the strongest then and the performance felt a bit flat.

Though back then the sound on that stage was poor so could have had an effect but I can't see Debbie's voice getting better in the last decade

To be fair, early doors on the other is a tough gig to pull off. Nearest anyone has come is the hives.

Maybe the Sunday afternoon party crowd will help them nail it
