  1. This really can't just be reduced to a male/female thing though. The Macca/Bruce overruns happened many many years ago. I think Emily would be much more reluctant to allow an act to overrun nowadays, although obviously there's no way for me to prove that. More importantly, both of those overruns happened on the Pyramid stage. As we've learned on this thread, the Other stage must finish before the Pyramid to avoid dangerous crowd issues. An overrun on the Other is a safety risk, but an overrun on the Pyramid is not. If her and her entourage's attitudes were as bad as described in the account of the situation posted earlier in this thread I'm sure it didn't help (and it wouldn't help any prospects of a headline slot in future either), but even if that was a load of bollocks and they were nice as pie I don't think any overrun would have been allowed because of the crowd safety aspect.
  2. The Green Kids field is also absolutely brilliant. It never really gets much attention compared to the "proper" kids field, but despite being a tiny area there's always loads going on with the pirate ship, music workshops, table tennis, circus skills, magic shows, games, the genuinely amazing camera obscura, the pirate show man, sock wrestling, etc. etc. And as an added bonus there's some lovely shade under the massive old oak tree at the top end. It's one of our favourite places.
  3. And LDR failed to give you that, simply because she and her entourage were being complete bellends.

Why do they just make sh*t up? I remember doing a short interview with a journo from a local paper a few years ago, and the "quotes" they put in the article were literally completely invented. Might as well not have done the interview at all. I'd expect better from the BBC though.

Nice! That banner at the bottom is a bit of a bastard for OLED TV's though, and it completely obscures the interesting part of the image on some of the views.

It appeared on the webcam at 10:35 this morning.

Seems to be a totally different tent to previous years.

The biggest crowd is usually above the Park. This is from the Wednesday in 2017: Edit: massive crowd up there last year:

Yeah, it looks a little wider, much deeper, and a bit taller to me.

Nah, it's this side of the Mandela bar. Looks like a mixing desk, but in a weird spot. This is it fully dressed last year:

What's this thing that appeared yesterday? EDIT: it was there last year too, so not new. Still not sure what it is though. In fact it's been there since at least 2016, changing slightly over the years.

Significantly bigger - a four-poster instead of two. I like the new colours too.

It would depend what time they did it - the webcam stops shortly after sunset and starts up again shortly before sunrise. Also, in 2011 there were extra towers either side of the Pyramid Stage housing the projectors: Although those might no longer be necessary nowadays with the advances in short-throw projectors.

I was wondering about projections too, like Coldplay in 2011.

    Intriguing... https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2023/bbc-music-glastonbury-2023
  20. 2016 was pretty bad, but there have definitely been much worse years - 1997, 2005 and 2007 were all significantly worse. And I'm saying that as someone who did 2016 with two small kids in tow. That said, I did have one of my worst ever Glastonbury experiences in 2016. At about 6pm on the Wednesday my mate and I went back to do a second run from the car with our trollies. A quick dash was planned so we could get back in time for dinner, beer, and fireworks. However, the paths to and from the car parks were absolutely destroyed, with super sticky mud nearly a foot deep for most of the way. We were literally having to stop every few metres for a rest, trolley wheels totally clogged so that we had to drag them, and we had no food or drink except for a massive bag of Maoam strips. My mate, a grown man with 10+ Glastonburys under his belt, was nearly in tears at several points. It took us about four hours to get back to the gate, at which point we were completely done in, to the point that we could barely walk. Then my mate discovered that he had somehow lost his ticket, so we had to make our way to the office and queue for an hour and a half to get him sorted out. By the time we finally got back to the tent it was nearly midnight, and that was our first day done. I've not been able to enjoy Maoam strips ever since 😞
