I'm good thanks hope you're well.

That is indeed good to hear.

I dunno about tens of thousands but definitely an impressive number of them.

I 'got' that info from within my own head, so heavily suspect that it 'may' not reflect reality. Maybe I was thinking 3,000. I was definitely thinking '3' and also thinking thousand.

Now. that's a blast from the past. Am I right in thinking that there are tens of thousands of them? About 3 tens of thousands of them?

As an aside, I hope that you are happy and well.

I think I'm correct in saying this is NHS End of Life Funding she is getting. Which I suspect may be a completely different kettle of fish to NHS Continuing Healthcare funding. Can see in three months time wherever she ends up going, "oh. she's not dying, our bad, now sell the house to pay for this".

I'm personally not convinced she is actually on her way out. I've seen her play possum like this too often during the last four years. Mentioned this to The Doc but they were insistent that they've, "...seen this lots of times before". Maybe I should thrust their judgement and am in denial a bit?

If the doctors say they have seen it before lots of times, I'd tend to believe them. They have nothing to gain either way. They will be telling you the truth, as far as they see it. However, you might want to ask the same doctor(s) f they have ever got it wrong, and if so, how significantly wrong. There may be scope for a longer life. I'd just accept their stance as long as it is paying the way. Only question if it suits your needs to do so.

Yeah I'm livid about the whole thing. Furious that the Judicial Revue into this was refused. Not surprising as it would expose a bigger financial fraud than the PPI mis-selling scandal.

Anyways just had a call that funding has been approved. Only for three months mind. Then they'll review it again.

Excellent news, on the last bit. You have got your foot in the door, so to speak. There may be online details of how you get to get your other foot through the door. Worth checking. I found out a shed load of information on how to help that young lad out with the PIP claims. The man is as mad as a box of frogs, and would be a complete nightmare in terms of other people's H & S - therefore not employable etc. Anyway, if you get into the right mind frame, looking into this stuff can be interesting. However, yes there is the downside that the 'system' will attempt to crush you in the process.

Hardest thing for me is breaking links. Cigarette with coffee, after a meal, arriving in new place or situation, when I want a break etc

But maybe the hardest is the link between cannabis and tobacco.

Oh it's far from a done deal. They have merely, "put an application in". Still layers of bureaucracy to get through I fear.

I'll echo what @Skip997said about reading up on it. The devil is in the detail. Obviously you need to tick as many boxes as is possible. The overall trick is to back them into a corner, and then show them the way out. If they reject the claim then ask them why, and also put in an appeal after - hopefully detailing why their previous conclusions were inaccurate. It's like everything, in that you have to fight like a bastard.*

    * I once acted as an advocate for a young lad who sufferers from severe mental health issues in his appeal against PIP and Advanced PIP (two separate tribunal hearings). He was awarded both benefits on appeal. While researching the whole area I discovered that 75% of all appeals are successful. Do you know another branch of Government which is allowed to fail that much in their original conclusions? I don't. And what about those who don't appeal because they have noone to support them? Makes my blood boil.

    Thanks both of you.

I'm relieved to say that the right noises are being made regarding NHS CHC. I could've hugged the Dr when they told me they were going to recommend it.

Then they told me the funding's under NHS End of Life Pathway. They think, "she's just given up".

Double whammy of relief and grief in one.

That's good that they'll fund the care aspect.

As to the other aspect, it's a tough one. I'm going through it myself. My mom has dementia and is getting very frail. There's only one way its going now. I don't know how it'll hit me when she goes.

I knew Pete Murphy. He was a friend of the family's. I don't think (and I am 58 years old) I've ever met a more genuine, lovely person, and nicer soul. There were tragedies in his life and he battled against them valiantly. He was, without doubt, a beacon of light.

Was a bit out of it when I posted this. It's Paul, not Pete. I have no idea where the Pete came from.

Transporting and inhaling in one package. Ingenious.

Well, to be honest, my 'modification' negated the pressure within the chamber. In fact, I actually carefully hacksawed through the metal cartridge (just below the product sticker that was on it). Little did I know that when the last saw of the hacksaw pierced the pressurised chamber, that the whole thing would shoot and bounce off the walls of the little office that I was in like a tracer bullet. Then I fed the powder into the cut groove, slowly but surely. Then I placed a strip off a plain white sticky one sided address label over the cut hole in the chamber, so that it married up with the official sticker ie no visible seam. And that was it.

We're treating this as a once in a lifetime final visit to the festival, so have pushed the boat out big style and its costing more than I care to think about (and will never share on here for sure), but for us its worth it and we are going to enjoy every second of all of the luxury and travelling lite from the time we leave NZ to the time we get back - sometimes you just have to go for it and enjoy what you want, whilst you still can.

Now, that's what I call dedication.

Wishing you a lovely last Fandango at the festival.

    spells out worthy view

I had actually thought it might be as such, but just couldn't 'see' it. And then my mind started to wander and think maybe it's spelling out something else. Not in a barmy way,- like I personally was being sent a 'message'! Just in an I don't know if it's even spelling out anything kind of a way. It's why i asked. I 'needed' to know! So, thanks Crazy.

Most have a view of the tent in front!

A couple of things - (1) I had no idea that the place looked like that. It's more regimented than a regimented thing. That 'may' be useful at night though when staggering back ie if you have counted the row and column that you are camped at. However, it's no way near the 'razzmatazz' of general camping.

    (2) At the bottom part of the photo of the tents, is that the letters 'Y', 'E', and 'W' within the overall body of the tents? Does that make any sense?

A pretty depressing thread all round, but the positive I'm taking from it is that at least @clarketeshowed some balls.  It's surprising how few will do the right thing in the face of a sniggering clique, desperate to impress internet strangers by joining in the newbie abuse.

I guess it's possible (at a stretch, in my opinion) to consider a very small percentage of the posts to be 'abusive' However, the much greater percentage go off on a tangent away from the content of the original post. or are serious questions.on the content of the post. I don't see a ' sniggering clique, desperate to impress internet strangers by joining in the newbie abuse'
