  1. Bearded Theory got Jane's Addiction as a headliner so I guess that rules them out of Download? Shame as that's a band I haven't seen since their tour with NIN in 2009. I missed the Download they played as was away travelling.
  2. Bloodstock and 2000 Trees announcements tomorrow. Obvs will rule bands out of Download.
  3. Would be rather damning for Download if that's the case. Copping needs to drop his opposition to bands doing their own shows as well as Download. Could also have Foo Fighters if he did.
  4. Machine Head are one of my favourite bands. But FFDP I find ok at best, don't really get the hype. Pantera I stopped listening too after the white power stuff, and tbh looking back the use of the Confederate flag was not cool. So no I wouldn't but I doubt Download would clash them anyway. Everyone expects no or minimum clash and if they publicly announced they were gonna clash headline again it would feel like they were admitting their main stage headliners were weak and I don't see them doing that.
  5. They sell out lots of dates when they do arena tours in the UK. I'm sure if they brought the likes of Korn or Deftones, plus alot of good support bands like Behemoth and Jinjer, that they'd sell a Knotfest UK really well. It's what they do at other Knotfest dates. It's all speculation anyway until we see some announcements.
  6. Aye I know I wasn't the only one waiting to see the line up before I got a ticket. I take it you're not a fan?
  7. I mean ArcTanGent and Knotfest clashing, as they were due to be on the same weekend in 2020. Knotfest would be late July or August if it's on. It would be Livenation same as Download hence why I mentioned it, cuz they'd want to sell both obviously.
  8. Would make total sense. If it really is AX7 / FOB / QOTSA I won't be going, so hopefully ArcTanGent or a Knotfest UK offer a good alternative. Also hopefully those 2 don't clash like they would of in 2020! Nah they headlined a tent this year so won't be back next year.
  9. Slipknot played Download 2019 then had a Knotfest booked in for 2020 that was cancelled cuz of COVID. This year was Downloads 20th anniversary and it was a huge deal, of course Slipknot wanted to play it. Now that's done I would expect at least talks of a Knotfest UK to have happened, given that they do it in other European countries (as well as around the world).
  10. Haha very tactful answer. I'm skeptical because they haven't been included in the Hellfest or Sweden rock announcements, which you'd think they'd do if they were doing a festival tour, just Copenhell so far. Which makes me think they are doing something else alongside the odd festival date.
  11. Can see it being: AX7 / FFDP / While She Sleeps / Spiritbox QOTSA / Royal Blood / Frank Carter / Bad Omens FOB / The Offspring/ Avril Lavigne / Weezer With Sum 41, Enter Shikari and Sleep Token headlining second. Meanwhile a Knotfest UK does a 2 dayer at MK Bowl with Slipknot, Korn, Judaa Priest, Rob Zombie, Machine Head and Sabaton.
  12. If Download are booking FOB and QOTSA to headline then they are aiming for a more mainstream crowd this year, so wouldn't surprise me if she was booked. Especially if they go for Royal Blood too. That would feel like a deliberate move away from metal though. But maybe Knotfest UK is gonna try again (was planned for 2020 before Covid cancelled it) and that's why they are pursuing this strategy? It would all be under Live Nation I presume. Sorry I'm probably just talking nonsense but Slipknot playing Sick New World shows they are active and actually they did the first half of the European festival season last year, so coming back to the second half this year (Wacken plus some Knotfest dates) would fit with what they've done before.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong but the AX7 UK arena tour in 2013 was only 3 dates? Plus had FFDP as support when they were first getting big.
  14. Because A7X were bumped to headliner before doing the kind of tours and headline shows you say Korn need to do. Korn are much bigger than any of the Bloodstock headliners this year, last year or next year. Though they did have Judas Priest before that tbf.
  15. They certainly were very good. Hence the frustration. The fact they would go down very well should give them the nod. Why are they being held to a higher standard than Avenged Sevenfold? And they do headline festivals in Europe already. There isn't a suitable size festival in the UK (as I was bemoaning earlier in this thread). Anyway I have a feeling they will do a co-headline tour with someone like Rob Zombie soon. I hope so anyway.
  16. They are one of the biggest bands in metal and have a huge amount of 'hits'. And actually their last big full UK tour was an arena tour with Limp Bizkit in 2016 of similar size to AX7's last UK tour in 2017 which was with Disturbed and In Flames. Previous tour before that was a huge arena run as special guests to Slipknot in 2015 which I think did a lot of good in reminding people Korn can put on a great show. Certainly they got a great reception and the one I went to (Cardiff date). They are a rarity in the UK these days but 2022 showed they still have huge appeal as they supposedly got a bigger crowd than Biffy did. See above 🙂
  17. Obligatory post to say the frustration with Biffy headlining isn't that they can, it's that Copping insists Korn can't. Both can.
  18. Do you already have a ticket? Personally I'm thinking ArcTanGent if I like the headlines there. Smaller fest with a much nicer atmosphere.
  19. If the headliners really are AX7, FOB and QOTSA I have a feeling Machine Head might do their own dates instead. They've put together quite the package in the USA and I'm sure they could here too. They could probably do a sizable academy tour.
  20. Ah yeah the pre sale thing deffo indicates they not doing Download.
  21. It's a 2 way route. I'm a metalhead in my 30s and probably a bit more 'open minded' than a fair few other metal fans my age (I like a lot of grunge, punk, goth, industrial, trip hop and assorted other stuff). I don't mind some QOTSA stuff and actually think a couple of their earlier albums are pretty good. But I see them and FOB as very mainstream and attracting a more R+L type crowd. And that deffo puts me off. So when you are talking crossover appeal well ok it might bring in a non-typical Download crowd but it also puts off people like myself.
  22. Not anywhere near as big as BMTH. Saying that as someone who isn't a fan of BMTH.
  23. There are obviously big bands being held back, because Hellfest only announced one of their 4 headliners.
