  1. Theory - Enter Shikari are 4th on main, hence no logo.
  2. Nah, they said 'Europe and UK tour'. Last time they did 2 dates at O2 arena and then 1 each in Brum and Manchester. I think they do similar again.
  3. Starting to look like Download missed out on Tool as well. They've announced there is gonna be a European and UK tour. Heavily rumoured for Graspop and Copenhell.
  4. I mean I hope Shikari play 2024 cuz I'm not gonna go, and means one more logo spot free in 2025 😉 No disrespect to them, just not for me.
  5. They've never done that before though have they? Using a logo on a poster for a band that then isn't a 'logo act' in one of the spaces we know logos usually are.
  6. The poster is odd because it has the full number of logo bands yet they have left 2 big gaps. Maybe they've increased the logos I dunno. But anyway I don't think either of those bands have any Euro fest dates announced yet? From the way Copping spoke in that interview I posted I think alot of big bands are gonna be doing their own thing(s) next year and until we start seeing more announcements it's hard to tell what. Edit: maybe they finally listened and gone dual main stage hence the increase haha but I doubt it.
  7. I do wonder how many didn't happen because of Downloads insistence that bands don't do their own shows as well as headline.
  8. So Andy Copping interview with Planet Rock is quite revealing! Says they approached 21 Bands to headline overall which is obvs a crazy amount. https://planetradio.co.uk/planet-rock/news/rock-news/andy-copping-download-2024/
  9. Scowl are brilliant. Hardcore punk/Riot grrrl. Karnivool are in my view one of the best live bands there is. Progressive metal. Pest Control I've only listened to a few times before this announcement but growing on me. UK thrash metal. Urne I got into recently. UK Metal with a lot of doom and sludge influence. Heriot fantastic live. UK extreme metal.
  10. Prodigy pulled out of Boomtown this year (medical reasons) so I would have thought they'd be going back there. No idea for certain but you'd think it so.
  11. Plus Glastonbury have like 60+ stages. Download has 4 in arena plus a couple tents in the village. And gone 9pm they only have main stage in arena.
  12. If true its bonkers that Rammstein were cancelled after Till's issues but Pantera and Slaughter To Prevail are both there. Especially as Till was obviously cleared by police whereas all Phil Anselmo has done is made a lame ass half apology and Slaughter To Prevail have just doubled down on their hate of trans people. And not the same level but Royal Blood have had their own controversy too insulting crowd members. Ridiculous price. Absolute joke.
  13. Was a bit mean 😉 There is an increasing generational divide at Download though but not in the way I think a lot of people make it out. What I see is a move from Download, even this year (2023 fest) towards appealing to the modern metalcore fans (this encompasses Screamo and Post-hardcore). I Prevail, Architects, BMTH, Parkway Drive, Alexisonfire etc. And whilst there's nothing wrong with those bands being in the mix, they are a certain type of sound that is far more polished than alot of other metal and rock bands. And when they are taking up a lot of the bigger slots, it does feel like that other types of music are starting to be pushed aside a bit. I get it, because it happened with nu-metal in the late 90s of course. So it's not a complaint, more a caution that Download needs to better promote bands from different styles into higher slots if they wanna maintain the wide base they have atm. This isn't a Download exclusive problem of course. Metal club nights have been doing it up and down the country and it's petty divisive, draws in a newer crowd but pushes out the older one.
  14. Aye. Download should have booked Green Day and Foo Fighters and let them do their own shows too. I mean we don't know what happens behind the scenes but it should of at least been proposed to those bands.
  15. They won't clash them with main headliners and based off this year it's like a 70 min set max. Can go see bands at their own shows do at least 90 mins (or co-headline with 70 mins each). So yeah I'm out. Hopefully Machine Head do their own shows. The Offspring I'm not really a big enough fan to travel for so hopefully they come back in a couple years. Though if they co-headlined with another band I like I'd consider it. Other than that Karnivool shame to miss out but we're incredible earlier this year on their own tour and other bands like Pest Control and Urne playing regularly in UK atm so I'll see them at some point.
  16. If the headliners are true then they are chasing a more mainstream crowd this year. A few heavy acts thrown in won't change that (especially when one of them is as controversial as Pantera)*. Personally speaking it's a shame as I'd love to see Machine Head, Offspring and Karnivool but not paying the ticket prices plus everything else if I don't wanna see any headlines. *Modern over produced metalcore doesn't count.
  17. Could always be doing their own tour.
  18. Just remembered (and checked on Google) that there was talk of Slipknot doing a world tour in 2024. I think maybe they do a Knotfest UK with either Judas Priest or Korn as sub, plus a number of the bands doing the festival circuit that are apparantly missing from Download and not at Bloodstock. Kreator, Behemoth, Mudvayne and Satyricon for example. I obvs mentioned before I suspected it and when you see bands doing the circuit missing from both Download and Bloodstock it seems feasible. Also surprised In Flames and Lamb Of God not announced for any fests yet. If multiple Knotfests happen I think they'd be ideal to play. I don't think Coal Chamber announced anything in Europe yet either? Slipknot, Judas Priest, Lamb Of God, In Flames, Kreator, Coal Chamber, Mudvayne and Behemoth all in one day would pack out MK Bowl.
  19. Aye that's the two things I spotted.
  20. Chinstrap looks to hav confirmed it on official forums (given his credibility from leaking last year). If so it's not for me. Hope Machine Head do their own dates too. ArcTanGent announcement was disappointing too so maybe a festival free year.
  21. Are you sure? I count 21 which is same as 2022 and normal years.
  22. If it's correct it's every single logo band right? That's very unusual. Though given how weak the headliners are maybe they feel they have to.
  23. And as I said if it's legit it's lazy.
