I'm pretty suspicious and don't trust them much on this, even though can understand their motivations as they're fighting for their survival.

There is no transparency on what 'no longer available' really means and it's a classic sales technique to use FOMO by limiting supply. If ever challenged, and they won't be, they could always say that they had put on fewer tickets for sale because of Covid and expectations about capacity at the time.

Pretty sure more tickets will mysteriously become available in future.

Surely this is exactly that, they have been told by the local authorities that X amount of tickets can be sold, and further down the line that may change.  I can see the capacity being reduced next year (which I'm sure wouldn't be their choice).

It would at least explain the 'no longer available' rather than a defintive 'sold out'.

  2. In response to someone on Facebook asking about refunds they have already posted this 'We will soon give alternatives for those who cannot make it to the new date, we will share this information as soon as possible'

not to sound like money saving supermarket or anything but I think the sensible thing with flights might be to just let the June ones get cancelled, then you get a refund, and can then (maybe) book the August ones.

at least, that’s what I’m doing as changing them isn’t possible.

Exactly this.  By booking new dates you create a new problem & insurance policies probably won't cover stuff booked now like previously mentioned on here.

  4. I'm just thankful that they didn't postpone a few weeks back like Coachella have.  Can we 100% say that Coachella will be going ahead in October?  Nope.

I think at this point 2020 can't happen, the LA edition will also be cancelled & they will set their sights on 2021.

  5. Getting to the point where UK visitors literally won't be able to get to Barcelona, let alone Primavera...

UK advises 'against all but essential travel' to parts of Spain

The UK Foreign Office has updated its advice for people planning trips to parts of Spain.

It says it is "advising against all but essential travel" to five areas:the regions of Madrid, La Rioja, and the municipalities of La Bastida, Vitoria and Miranda de Ebro.

"Airlines are continuing to run flights as normal to and from these areas,” the new advice adds.

It comes after Spain reported 36 deaths in the past 24 hours – and the number of cases is rising fast, especially in Madrid, with almost 2,000 people infected.

Meanwhile, four towns have been quarantined in the Catalonia region of north-eastern Spain under government order in an attempt to halt the spread of coronavirus.

  6. 6music also rolling out their Camden line up for March & interesting how much (& inevitable) crossover there is with this & last year.

Still surprised & disappointed that Primavera is going another year without The Orielles.  Hoping for a Heineken hidden stage slot.

I agree that Saturday is probably the weakest day but the undercard is stacked. Black Country New Road, Jenny Hval, Jamila Woods, Squarepusher, Jawbox, Weyes Blood, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Maria Del Mar Bonet, Les Amazones D'Afrique and The Caretaker is one hell of a day for me, and that's ignoring the top few lines!

A Primavera weak day is still a good day :)

Best new discovery so far is Helado Negro, can't wait to see what he has to offer live.

  8. Bill Callahan not getting much love, bit of a dream booking for Primavera i think, has he played before?  Saw him last year & if he plays the Auditori that's a must see.

Also loving Squid, can imagine they will be a party live.  Big Freedia too, bringing some New Orleans Bounce to the festival, could satisfy the Lizzo / Missy Elliott gap.  Brittany Howard as mentioned elsewhere should also be great.

Also thanks to people on here highlighting Arthur Verocai, feels like such a rare booking, and could be magic live.

Someone on the o/s has had a go at suggesting names for the auditori. Probably will end up being about right, though I'm not convinced by Weyes Blood there.

    THURSDAY
    Floating Points Falaise Ensemble
    Lingua Ignota
    AEAEA
    Weyes Blood

    FRIDAY
    Richard Dawson
    Arthur Verocai
    Iosonouncane
    Jessica Pratt

    SATURDAY
    Maria del Mar Bonet (confirmed)
    Jenny Hval (confirmed)
    The Caretaker
    Mavis Staples

Would love to see Jessica Pratt in the Auditori but really hoping for an outdoor Sunset slot for Mavis Staples - Rayban Stage - that would be awesome.

  10. It's a good line up, and it will become great as the months roll on cause there is a shed load here to discover.  It's lacking the shock of last year (in a good way), I feel like I knew this line up 2 months ago.  Just hope Massive Attack bring along Elizabeth Fraser!
