  1. I'm finding it hard to think of anyone worse than Mumford & Sons playing Primavera.  What a waste of a headline slot.

Neil Young on the other hand!  Stevie Wonder also a wishlist one.  Kraftwerk would be awesome, would fit nicely with Giorgio Moroder who I'm guessing is in.

Massive Attack have announced a tour doing Mezzanine in full with no Spanish dates, I wonder if they could be a contender for Primavera? Definitely won't be at Mad Cool anyway but here or BBK would make sense.

Liz Fraser on board too!  This would be awesome

  3. I can see Janelle Monae & Sharon Van Etten being there.  Thom Yorke would be cool, Primavera loving their Soundtrack composers recently.  Anderson.Paak & Childish Gambino possibly??  Smaller acts - would love Khruangbin, Orielles, King Krule, Jessica Pratt.

Do y'all think Primavera Radio might be giving clues about next year's lineup? I've noticed Sharon van Etten, Boards of Canada or Janelle Monáe playing several times.

If Boards of Canada play Primavera I'll buy everyone a drink :)

  5. Missed the last 2 years but purchased tickets for the 2019 edition today.  Had previously been going consecutively between 2010 to 2016, so very excited to get back!

Nice to see such a buzz on this forum too, was never this popular back in the day, you would need to translate all the Spanish conversations on the official forums!

Anyway, very early I know, BUT some wish list acts are Stevie Wonder (please!!), Anderson.Paak, Ween, The Drones, FKA Twigs, The Orielles, Anna Meredith...

Hi all. First timer this year. How cold does it get in the evenings/ at night usually please? Not been to Barcelona before either. Cheers

This year is slightly later than the normal end of May dates, & last year the weather was pretty much gorgeous throughout the weekend, so it was shorts & t-shirt all the way into the small hours.  I would say bring something warmer just in case, i think 2013 was the year when it was cold & people were buying extra layers, but it's normally ok, especially when you add alcohol etc into the mix :)

In fairness, Radiohead are touring for the first time in 4 years and are almost certainly about to drop a new album and are pretty much the best band on the planet (in my humble opinion, of course).

It's a huge draw for Primavera (and it shows in ticket sales).

Does anyone know the capacity of the site? Has it gone up since previous years?

Around 50,000 to 60,000 i think.  I know 2011 saw a big increase in numbers & the organisers got a lot of complaints which saw them decrease it again in 2012 (less prolific line-up also helped), but i think this year will feel the increase (very much so on the Friday of course).

Shame they won't be in the park this year, I've booked a hotel even closer to it than I was last year :(

News on the park shows coming soon according to a post by Primavera on Facebook.  I think we'll get them again this year, they aren't normally announced until a couple of months after the line up

so is it an orchestral show which he conducts? or electronic?

These are his first ever live shows, he has never performed live before but he had an album out last year which is worth checking out (this also soundtracks the line up video).  I think this is a very special booking :) but no idea what the set up live will be

  10. I was wondering where everyone had gone on the official Primavera forum!  Hardly any buzz on the english forum over there so nice to see & read all the anticipation on here :)

I would love to see Brian Wilson at Primavera this year, Pet Sounds in the auditorium!  Iggy Pop & Elvis Costello too.  Flying Lotus is due an appearance surely?  I don't think they have any excuse for a lacklustre line up this year, so much great music out there at the moment...  Protomartyr, Floating Points, Sauna Youth, Jessica Pratt, Cate Le Bon, Max Richter, Badbadnotgood, Kamasi Washington, FKA Twigs, Ezra Furman are all acts i would love to see & quite a few that i do believe have never played the festival.

  11. I don't think so. The date of the final was known a long time ago, and it is really no surprise that barcelona is in the final... I think primavera is all about the music... at other rock festivals, people prefer football to music, but with primavera it is another thing. people from all over europe are there because of the music.
