  1. Playlist updated - Croissant Neuf added, 1-3 songs each, some great stuff on there as always; also the acts playing Latino; self-confirmed Porridge Radio; and new tracks from recent setlists/tracklists for Macca, Bonobo, Foals, girl in red, Confidence Man, Metronomy, HAAi, Black Midi, and Easy Life.

Went to Olympia on the Saturday and then Brixton last night. Have been going to see Foals since Antidotes and I'm a bit sick of the crowd theses days. I love a mosh pit as much as the next person and have nothing against circle pits but not every song requires 6 circle pits and shoving everyone else out of the way. They have ruined 2 Step, it's not a circle pit song. There was also an older guy who tried to pull the girl in front of me's trousers down when we were getting down for Spanish Sahara. I saw him, it was intentional. I caught him and told him it was absolutely fucking out of order and he feigned it was accidental. Absolute worst c**t. I only hope it didn't ruin the rest of her evening.

Wow what a loser! We were positioned not far in front of the sound desk at Brixton and thought the crowd around us were great. Maybe you have outgrown the pit??

Great show, they've really stepped up the videos/lights this time around. Are they big enough to headline...?

Stage has been confirmed as not coming back for 2022... (Boooo).

The chaps that organised the tent are also (unsurprisingly) beging Worm Disco Club and their on Sunday night.

They've asked any fans of the Wormhole to mention it was taken from us too soon should you bump into any of the festival organisers!

Shame, but as expected. Worm Disco Club are in Shangri La, can we find out where? I'll be keen for that.

That's a coincidence, I've spent ages today trying to find an old picture on Google photos of an ale I love. It's Vocation Life & Death. Sublime. Asda are doing 8 for £9 so going to grab 16 tonight to add to my GF stash

Great beer, and one of the best that ever comes into those supermarket deals. But with hoppy stuff like that, you really want to drink it as fresh as possible rather than putting it away for almost 2 months.

  5. Finished adding the (updated) Shangri La lineup to the playlist - up to 4 tracks per act depending on stage/popularity, based on recent setlists/tracklists as far as possible.

Some great stuff on there, I think it's the best lineup Shangers has ever had. Pigsx7, Folamour, Partiboi69, Beans, Brass Against, Bob Vylan, K.O.G. all firmly on my radar. Even after the disappointing loss of Columbia's Systema Solar from the lineup, who look a whole lot of fun.

I've made a start on Croissant Neuf, and then on to the Common...

Thought I'd share some playlists I've made as others might find them useful (or be inspired to create more).

I like making 'setlist' playlists for artists. Based on recent a mix of recent setlists/average setlists on setlist.fm.

I imagine some folks will hate the concept but I find for artists I've been meaning to check out before the festival, with little time it's better than a greatest hits to get you get more of a flavour of what they're playing out on tour at the mo. Whether they'rean act that basically just does the new stuff or keeps a mix of older stuff etc.

Nice work. I select tracks for the big playlist based on their recent setlists (tracklists for DJs) for precisely the same reason, although only include a handful for each act (it's long enough as it is!)

The second season of The Terror started on BBC Two last night. Was intense!

Thanks for the heads up. First series was tremendous. Although this seems to be an entirely separate story in an entirely different scenario, written by different writers - so odd for it to be ‘series 2’.

  7. Daytimers takeover, Fizzy Gillespie, Ghetto Kumbe, Pony Montana, Stephen Lewis & The Big Band of Fun, Summer Dean. Literally juust as I thought I'd finished adding them to the playlist!!

Systema Solar from Columbia have disappeared, which is a real shame, they sounded great.

Kae Tempest is now spoken word.

Wargasm still on there I note.

    Anyone spot anything else?

Is the stage with the actual waterfall gonna be there? I don’t remember seeing it in 2019

It was there in 2019. It’s being replaced by the new Totem stage. I hope they keep the water theme though that seems unlikely.

Listening to a combination of your Spotify list and Youtube and I liked Caroline Paluchek and Chairlift.  Only just realised she is/was the lead singer of Chairlift!  But I realise that Chairlift aren't on your Spotify list so I assume she doesn't sing Chairlift songs now?  Is that right?

Correct - setlist.fm records her as having covered quite a few songs over the years, but never once any from her old band. She’s opted for a clean break!

Would be weird to introduce the Wormhole, have it be so popular there are consistently massive queues, then get rid of it the next year.

Agreed. Worm Disco Club, who run it, are on the Shangri La poster, so could be moving there? Or could just be them doing a slot somewhere. Moving a popular venue from the Park to the already packed Shangers would seem a bit nuts.

Shout out to the tireless efforts of @Brave Sir Robin who alerting me to the announcements by adding loads of new acts to his playlist this morning before I checked my socials.

I appreciate your appreciation! Do you mean you get alerts, or that you just noticed new acts coming up on shuffle or whatever?

Or, on the right of the thread where it says who the last poster was, underneath their name you can click the link that says when the last post was made. Takes you straight there! 😀

This is what I've always done, had no idea about the circle/star thing.

  13. Sunlight is really important for circadian rhythms, and obviously festival time is when days are at their longest. Try to avoid sunlight early in the day (or at least wear shades), and get as much of it as you can later on.

Exercising later in the day also helps shift your bodyclock to be alert later.

For an immediate fix, in the absence of illegal substances, caffeine is pretty damn effective.

The spy track is the wrong artist it should be s.p.y.

Corrected, cheers. I blame Arcadia for leaving the dots out on the poster! Added to the playlist are the various recent small self-confirmations, and the ETC winner Lewis McLaughlin, who sounds great.
