Swanage Blues & Roots festival 2012

The sixth Swanage Blues & Roots festival will be held from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th October 2012.

This festival features over 50 different gigs with 100+ performers at 20 indoor venues around the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, on the South West coast.

Line-up

Assorted Buskers, Back Porch, Bare Bones Boogie Band, Blind Lemon Gliders, Blue Touch, Blues Machine, Bob Pearce Gospel and Blues Band, C Sharp Blues, Chris Collins & Blues Etc, David Raphael Band, Elevators, Fabulous Fezheads, Hugh Budden, Jam Sessions with Robin Bibi Band, Jason Manners & 3 Buck Shirt, Jawbreakers, Jay Tamkin, Johnny Sharp, Motel 6, Mustangs, Open Mic Sessions, Paint It Blue, Pete Harris & Hugh Budden, Riotous Brothers, Riverside Blues Band, Robin Bibi Band, Sonny Black, Stan's Blues Jamboree, Steamer, Steve Darrington, Tim Harrison, Tin Cats, Tommy Allen & Johnny Hewitt, Will Killeen.

There will also be Buskers, Blues Jam Sessions (Saturday and Sunday), Open Mic (every day), Gospel Service, and Blues Steam Train Rides.

Admission

To cover costs the organiser Steve Darrington has had to see in the introduction of £10 weekend wristbands. "£10 isn't a lot for 40 gigs by 30 acts in 15 indoor venues. It would cost £10 just to see some of the bands elsewhere and anyway, Swanage is a fantastic place for a festival - so much charm and choice of where to eat, drink and sleep and all at reasonable prices."

Steve is also appealing for help from businesses that are willing to sell the £10 wristbands or to be sponsors for a festival or two."Being in a wheelchair I just can't do it all on my own, and it would be such a shame - and a financial disaster locally - if everything had to end," he said. For information on how to sell wristbands and programmes or to be a sponsor, contact Steve Darrington on 01929 422338, mobile 07445 261037 or email [email protected]. Accommodation

The festival offers a full programme every afternoon and evening and will play host to 40 gigs in 15 indoor venues. Swanage offers plenty of places to stay and is on the Jurassic coast.
