Swanage Blues festival 2010


This FREE festival features several different gigs with acclaimed national and international blues musicians playing at a variety of venues around the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, on the South West coast of England. The event takes place from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th March 2010.

All sorts of styles are represented such as acoustic, electric, rural and urban blues.

Line-up

The full line- up includes Back Porch Band, Blue Touch, Buddy's Blues Band, C Sharp Blues, Chicago 9, Coalhouse Walker Blues Band, Dave Raphael Band, Fabulous Fezheads, Hugh Budden, Jack Blackman, JC & Angelina Grimshaw, John Crampton, Jon Walsh Blues Band, Kevin Brown Band, Motel 6, Pete Harris Band, Robin Bibi Band, Saiichi Sugiyama Band, Steve Darrington, The Jawbreakers, The Jives, The Mustangs, The Rhythm 'n' Blues Brothers 8-piece band, The Riotous Brothers, The Riverside Blues Band, and Will Killeen .

Plus Robin Bibi's Jam Sessions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, open mic sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and assorted street buskers on Swanage Railway Station all weekend.

Expect around 40 gigs in 15 indoor venues, all with free admission. There are open mic sessions every afternoon and usually a Blues Steam Train ride plus dancers, street musicians, jam sessions (Saturday and Sunday), buskers, Gospel Service, and workshops.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available from £18 per person per night in the town itself.
