The second Swanage Blues & Roots festival will be held from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October 2008.

This free festival features over 40 different gigs with blues and roots musicians at at fifteen venues around the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, on the South West coast.

The acts confirmed so far are:
Friday:
AFTERNOON: Open Mic with Jim Tigwell & Martin Froud, featuring Mike Healey and Andrew Bazeley.
EVENING: Jon Walsh Blues Band, John Crampton, Motel 6, Chris Scott's Bluesdevil, C Sharp Blues, The Jives, Sonny Black, Will Killeen, Coast, Jim Tigwell & Martin Froud, Pete Smith, Ernie's Rhythm Section.
Saturday:
AFTERNOON: Jam Session with Robin Bibi Band, Ernie's Rhythm Section, Slim Lightfoot Band, The Jives, Open Mic with Jim Tigwell & Martin Froud, featuring Confused Blues and Bob Long & Keith Miller, Open Mic with Andrew Bazeley, Ian Hunt, Pete Smith, The Fabulous Fezheads.
EVENING: The Mustangs, John Crampton, Robin Bibi Band, Coalhouse Walker Blues Band, Slim Lightfoot Band, The Fabulous Fezheads, Sonny Black, Will Killeen, Pete Smith, Ernie's Rhythm Section, Keith Thompson's Strange Brew.
Sunday:
AFTERNOON: Jam Session with Robin Bibi Band, Jim Reynolds, Open Mic with Jim Tigwell & Martin Froud, Sonny Black, Ernie's Rhythm Section.
EVENING: Chris Collins & Blues Etc with Hugh Budden and Steve Darrington.

The festival offers a full programme every afternoon and evening and will play host to 40 gigs in 15 indoor venues a jam session with Robin Bibi Band. Swanage offers plenty of places to stay and is on the Jurassic coast.

The venues participating include White Horse, Purbeck Hotel, Ship Inn, White Swan (The Square), Anchor, Red Lion, Moonlight Bistr, Black Swan, Royal Oak, The Barking Frog, Grand Hotel, and The Crow's Nest which is a mile from the town centre and a taxi costs around £3.50 total for four people from town centre. The Bankes Arms is in the village of Corfe Castle, just under five miles from Swanage and about the same distance from Wareham. There is accommodation available from £14 per person per night.
