Swanage Blues festival 2012


This FREE festival features several different gigs with acclaimed national and international blues musicians playing at a variety of venues around the picturesque seaside town of Swanage, on the South West coast of England. The event takes place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March 2012.

All sorts of styles are represented such as acoustic, electric, rural and urban blues.

Line-up

Latest additions are Gypsy Elise & The Royal Blues (from New Orleans), Clare Free, Howling At The Moon, Jason Manners & 3 Buck Shirt, Jay Tamkin Band, Milton-Farrow Skiffle & Blues Band (with Alan Glen) and The Tin Cats.

Confirmed acts include Blind Lemon Gliders, Bob Pearce Blues & Gospel Band, C Sharp Blues, Clare Free, Coalhouse Walker, David Raphael Band, The Fabulous Fezheads, The Guv’nors, Jay Tamkin Band, Kris Dollimore, Motel 6, The Mustangs, Pearl Handled Revolver, Pete Harris Blues Band with Hugh Budden, Riverside Blues Band, Robert Hokum Band, Robin Bibi Band, Tim Harrison, Will Killeen, plus Jam Sessions with Robin Bibi Band and Open Mic Sessions with Johnny Sharp and Martin Froud.

There will be 100+ acts playing 50+ gigs in 20 indoor venues, all with free admission.

There are open mic sessions every afternoon and usually a Blues Steam Train ride plus dancers, street musicians, jam sessions (Saturday and Sunday), buskers, Gospel Service, and workshops.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available from around £20 per person per night in the town itself.
