Bures Music Festival 2012


The 15th Bures Music Festival, incorporating Jazz by The Stour, is an annual music event held in a marquee in the picturesque village of Bures on the Essex & Suffolk Borders taking place on Wednesday 4th until Sunday 8th July 2012. The original Sunday event 'Jazz by the Stour' is now supported & proceeded by four nights of top musical performances spanning the genres from Soul, Blues, Swing, Rock 'n Roll & Choral as well as our very own young musicians showcase.

Young Musicians of the Year competition with its contemporary moniker 'B Fest' is held in the marquee on the Recreation Ground on Thursday.

Line-up

Wednesday:
Choral Evening: Four Voices in St. Mary's church.

Thursday:
Jazz by the Stour: Pete Jezard & The Blackwater Band in St. Mary's church.
B Fest: Young Musicians TBA in the marquee.

Friday:
Blues Night: Big Boy Bloater & The Limits, and Blues Situation.

Saturday:
Rhapsody... Is This The Real Queen, and The Chocolate Fireguard Experience.

Sunday:
Hokie Joint, This Boy Wonders, Robbie Gladwell Band, Two Steps Twice, Winner Of B-Fest.

Tickets

An all encompassing weekend ticket is priced at £35. The Choral Evening on Wednesday is priced at £5. B Fest on Thursday is priced at £5 (£1 for under 16's), with Thursday's Jazz by the Stour the same price. Blues Night on Friday is priced at £15. Rhapsody on Saturday is priced at £15. Sunday's Music by the Stour is priced at £10 (£5 for children 10-16, with under 10's free). To buy tickets click here.

Camping

Free camping is available if booked in advance.

The festival raises money for charitable organisations such as St. Helena's Hospice and The Ferriers Barn Handicapped Centre, as well as for local organisations.
