Jazz By The Stour 7 2003


Jazz by the Stour is an annual charity event held in the picturesque village of Bures which is located on the Essex/Suffolk border.

10th July features a Choral Night at St Mary's Church, Bures, starting at 7.30pm.
On 11th July from 7.45pm to 11.30pm there'll be a Blues Night with a bar and barbecue, in the marquee on Bures recreation ground. This will be introduced by BBC Radio Suffolk's, Stephen Foster, and features The Motel Kings, and Dana Gillespie and her Band.
12th July features a very popular Swing Night, again in the marquee, with a bar, barbecue and doughnut stall. Free dance lessons will be available between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Blue Harlem will be providing the live music and there'll also be a 'Sentimental Journey' record show.
On Sunday 13th July, Bures recreation ground is open from 1pm-10pm, featuring music from The Tom Collins Jazz Band, Neil Stacey's Kimbara Brothers, Derek Nash and Mark Crooks with the Bob Broomhead Trio, and ending with Julian Marc Stringle and the Dream Band.

On Sunday, there'll also be a tombola stall, hog roast & barbecue, fully licensed bar and teas. Free parking is available every day and there is free camping on Sunday when the gates open at noon.
