Bures Music Festival is a fundraising event held annually in Bures, on the Essex/Suffolk border, raising money for charitable organisations such as St. Helena's Hospice and The Ferriers Barn Handicapped Centre, as well as for local organisations.
The festival has a varied line-up of choral, blues, swing and jazz, with many entertainments and refreshments on site. This year's programme is as follows:
Wednesday, 11th July, St Mary's Church, at 7.30pm: Choral evening featuring The Kelvedon Singers.
Thursday, 12th July, in the Festival Marquee from 5pm - 10pm: Young Musician of the Year competition.
Friday, 13th July, in the Festival Marquee from 7.30pm - 11.30pm: Blues Night presented by Stephen Foster featuring The Back Porch Band and The Hamsters.
Saturday, 14th July, in the Festival Marquee from 7.30pm - 11.30pm: Soul Night featuring Soul Town Chic plus Big Ian.
Sunday, 15th July, in the Festival Marquee from 12 noon - 8.30pm: Jazz By The Stour featuring The Martyn Brothers, The Jim Mullen Organ Trio with special guest, Stan Sulzman, The Sarah Moule Quintet, The National Youth Jazz Orchestra, with Kit Holmes appearing between acts.
