Bures Music Festival 2010


The 14th Bures Music Festival, incorporating Jazz by The Stour, is an annual music event held in a marquee in the picturesque village of Bures on the Essex & Suffolk Borders taking place on Wednesday 7th until Sunday 11th July 2010. The original Sunday event 'Jazz by the Stour' is now supported & proceeded by four nights of top musical performances spanning the genres from Soul, Blues, Swing, Rock 'n Roll & Choral as well as our very own young musicians showcase.

Young Musicians of the Year competition with its contemporary moniker 'B Fest' is held in the marquee on the Recreation Ground on Thursday.

Line-up

Choral Evening: Cantabile Youth Choir.
B Fest: Young Musicians TBA.
Blues Night: Dr Feelgood, and The Swamp Cats.
Swing Night: The Red Stripe Band.
Jazz by the Stour: The Dan Stern Quartet, The Geoff Eales International Quintet, Monica Vasconcelos & Vintage Brazil, and compere Liz Mullen.

Tickets

An all encompassing weekend ticket is priced at £45. The Choral Evening on Wednesday is priced at £6. B Fest on Thursday is priced at £4 (£1 for under 16's). Blues Night on Friday is priced at £15. Soul Night on Saturday is priced at £15. Sunday is priced at £17.50 (£15 concessions). Accompanied children under 16 are eligable for free entry on Sunday only (1 child per paying adult). Camping

Free camping is available if booked in advance.

The festival raises money for charitable organisations such as St. Helena's Hospice and The Ferriers Barn Handicapped Centre, as well as for local organisations.
