The wording of Emily's tweet was awesome. What a rollercoaster this has been.

That was the worst tweet preview I've ever had. The way twitter notifications pop up on my phone I thought this is it RIP.

  2. This is absolute madness now. I've seen they are looking at stopping schools or they have done at least in Ireland. Where is the sense? Because you really think those kids are going to stay at home for 14 days? Yeah right. And why schools. What logic is behind closing schools? How are parents who are expected to go to work meant to cope? I'm glad I haven't got that concern.

Sorry to anyone that disagrees but the way the media has handled this is pretty atrocious. If anything they've caused the panic buying loons to loot my local Tesco and Asda.

  3. If tickets carried over to next year I wouldn’t be nearly half as worried as I am right now. I know it’s very unlikely. It just wouldn’t be viable but if anything was to come out of them cancelling, letting ticket holders retain their tickets would be the very small silver lining.

    i don’t think I can go through October’s stress again 😩

  4. Was the festival on during the Foot and Mouth crisis? Or was it a fallow year?

Dunno why you're stressing about it. You have no control over the decision if the worst happens. So just wait and see. As I said bigger issues if that happens.

That's like saying to anyone about anything, what's the point in worrying. Easier said than done when it's an issue at the moment.

Lots of decent releases today new Caribou, Real Estate and Soccer Mommy records .

Just finished with the Caribou album. Ravi is an utterly fantastic track! Can't stop playing it. So many amazing layers.

From the videos I’ve seen he doesn’t look as energetic as usual, but suppose that’s due to the liveliness of him on stage anyway so you hold him to his own standards.

Hard to not think a slight bit of burnout is creeping in. Toured all of last year all over the world and in the meantime tried to finish the next album off for it only to be pushed back, whilst in the middle of beginning another tour, pretty much exactly 12 months on from the Brief Inquiry tour. I know it’s touted as music for cars but I’d have guessed their plan was new album new tour.

I also feel like some of their singles lately have been rushed out to accommodate to the new tour. As what’s the major selling point of a brand new tour without much new music.

Think you're right about the singles. The tour was essentially meant to be for the new album but then it got pushed back. I wonder if they will tour again once the record is out? It would seem pointless having toured so soon.

Matty seemed in great spirits in Cardiff. Dancing about really enjoying himself. Seen similar comments though for the London dates about him being less energetic.

I think it was good putting Sex upfront. Band's always seem to fall in to a loop of playing the same songs in the same order on the setlist. Was great to switch it up a bit.

I can't believe they removed Milk from the setlist, fingers crossed it makes it back in for Manchester. I mean "Me" is an amazing song and is in my top 5. But Milk. I cannot compromise on Milk.

This is based off setlist.fm, I'm really hoping someone made an error. @DareToDibble care to be the bearer of good or bad news?

It was gone last night. Played Undo and Me instead. Could very well be back for Manchester though.

Saw them last night and honestly thought they were phenomenal. The Greta speech seemed perfectly placed in the set.
Gutted they’ve had to drop some of their older songs but something has to give when they’re releasing new songs so frequently.

Also they are 100% ready to headline the Pyramid without a doubt.

Was gutted they dropped Milk but they did keep Menswear on and we got Me (which is one of my favourites) and Undo which were great! As you say, with so many new songs it's impossible to keep everything on there but overall I loved the set-list last night. The new songs sound good too. We arrived fairly early but ended up staying in one of the bars upstairs and came down about 20 minutes before they came on and still managed to get fairly near the front.

Enjoyed the show so much I've splashed out on London tickets as I've found a cheap enough hotel not far from Finsbury Park.

Getting to the front is only part of it. A lot of it is about proving their commitment to the band and improving their perceived standing in the fandom. Funnily enough, yesterday on twitter these exact early bird fans were telling Matty off for not helping them queue better.

I did see those Tweets ha. They're fans are crazy obsessive. Click on any of Matty's tweets and you'll see the same 10 names at the top every single time. Not even sure how they function day to day.

1 hour ago, Hugh Jass said:

Does the band acknowledge and encourage this behaviour? Or is it something they’d rather discourage?

As far as I know they discourage it. Matty's been on Twitter a number of times in the past telling fans not to do it.

Yep - an awful lot.  We are over for the weekend and have been around the O2 since lunchtime doing a bit of shopping / lunch etc and couldn’t believe the amount of fans all around the place so early

I've never understood fans obsession with queueing so early for any 1975 show. They camp the night before in freezing temps. It's madness. Most of these arena venues do top up tickets for a couple of extra quid where you can queue jump and enjoy drinks before the show so it seems completely pointless.

Plus if I wanted to get front row I probably could or thereabouts without being rude and shoving my way through.

If he was ill then cancel earlier. Say a cold, then your fucked all day, if it’s vocals as a singer then a doctor would write you off early too.

My thoughts exactly. By all means he's human, and I know damn right if I was ill as a performer I would cancel. But to keep doing it last minute. He claims tonsillitis. That doesn't come on an hour before the show. People had already travelled so there's no blaming them for being annoyed, especially with radio silence from the band and venue/promoters in the lead up.

He clearly needs rest. These rescheduled shows are way too soon following his previous cancellations if you ask me considering it's regarding his vocal chords. I'm not getting my hopes up for the March shows.

  12. I was this certain with Bon Iver this year with him playing UK and EU dates and that never happened so not getting my hopes up just yet but I'd love nothing more. Crossing everything.

  13. Never known any other musician to cancel so many shows. Gutted as I was meant to see him in Cardiff Friday but seems to have cancelled the rest of the tour. That would have been the fourth time I've tried to see him now and he's cancelled. Health comes first though and hope he gets better.

I'm just annoyed as I have tickets for his tour in March but it's in an arena which will be fucking shite like every other arena gig. The popularity he's got recently I was really looking forward to seeing him for probably the last time in a small-ish venue. Would he really reschedule this tour so close to his March tour which covers a lot of the same cities? Would seem pointless.

  14. Fantastic show. I normally hate the Motorpoint (still don't love it) but the sound was on point where I was standing, vocals were sounding great. 2 Hours and 15 minute set list too. Absolutely blinding. I really enjoy the new album too so was a great mix of tracks. Also never seen a singer come that far in to the crowd before either walking right past me, apparently served at the bar (not my photos). Really hoping they are at Glastonbury next year now again.

  15. Anyone else get an email from See over the weekend. Anyone who bought tickets seems to have free album download codes and physical copies (just pay for postage).

"Please remember each unique code can only be used once to redeem a single copy of 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2'. If you already own a copy please feel free to share with family, friends, colleagues or indeed anyone who needs their record collection improving!"

Not seen this offered by any artists before. Decent that is.

  16. I really enjoyed Citadel as a festival. It had a different feel to most other indie festivals (Field Day died for me a long time ago and now has become more electronic, and I'm yet to experience APE). Shame to see it go, always had a good line-up.

  17. Seen the announcement get some stick on Twitter, the usual "glad I didn't get tickets now with that dross Paul McCartney + Diana Ross yawn". I've come to realise you literally can't please everyone. People will moan and complain about anything. Especially those without tickets. It's Paul Fucking McCartney for crying out loud. I'm too young to have grown up in the Beatles era (so could be elsewhere when he's on) but that's a fantastic booking regardless.

Not seen it mentioned on here, but they're playing two small gigs at Leeds Beckett uni on Thursday. The 9pm show is sold out, but I got a ticket for the half 6 show earlier: https://www.crashrecords.co.uk/product/foals-early-show-bundle/

What a steal. Those prices are ridiculously cheap. Just wish I was living anywhere remotely near Leeds. Here's to holding out their tickets this week will be sub £50 each :( (wishful thinking)

But she can drive though? She passed her test? She may not be Lewis Hamilton, but she can actually operate a car? You don’t need to be a computer programmer to buy Glastonbury tickets, you need to know how to turn a computer on and find a web address. Computers are household items, like TVs and microwaves, realistically how many people that want Glastonbury tickets (that aren’t actually disabled and have other means to apply for tickets anyway) are that computer illiterate it’s beyond them?

My point exactly. All I done this year was press f5 on one browser. I had one open in Chrome on auto fresh and one on firefox that I pressed f5. Got through on firefox. You stick your head in to the tips and tricks thread and your mind will be blown the theories and so called tips everyone is coming out with. At the end of the day it means nothing.

For a pub near the O2 you can’t beat The Victoria near the back of New Street Station. It’s dead handy for the O2.

It has a tremendous eclectic atmosphere and a great selection of beers and cocktails from proper bar staff.

If you don’t go in before it’s a great place for a few jars and a bit of a jig after!

I know the gig has been now but I second the Vic. Spent many a good nights there before Snobs. Real cool place and great music!
