WoS will be munching on the popcorn with a smile on his face today, vindicated for having broken the story 3 years ago only to endure years of abuse from SNP members blindly protective of Sturgeon, a compliant Scottish media wanting to brush the story under the carpet...oh and Scotland's Chief of Police mysteriously resigning a week after Sturgeon...
Has he been tried and found guilty? Or even charged?
I must have missed that bit.
p.s. wings is a bigoted transphobe. If he was right about the money, that does not alter that.

SNP need to forget independence
Yeah, and the Greens need to forget the environment.
You do realise that's why they exist.
You are maybe confused because the Labour party are fine with abandoning their principles and you think that sets some sort of precedent.

sturgeon made it her priority. when she chose to put that law thru but not others.
a rapist self-id'd as female, and sturgeon bottled out of sending her to a female prison.
You clearly have absolutely no idea what the law says.

they're going nowhere until they sort out their disaster of a gender recognition act.
You would be amazed at how little real people in the real world think this is a priority.
Anyway, I'm still waiting for you to tell me how our law is a disaster when similar laws work fine in loads of other parts of the world.

There's another thread for Scottish politics, why don't you guys have that argument in there?
There is not a thread for Scottish politics - there is a thread about Scottish independence which despite Douglas Ross and Neil's obsession is not the sum total of Scottish politics
...and because your side insist that we are all one big happy family in the United Kingdom and what happens in Scotland may impact Sir Keir's ability to form a majority government. I would suggest UK Labour's Tory appeasement policies lessen their chances of a breakthrough in Scotland.

What cause he mentioned a wealth tax that he has no intention of actually doing lol?
He’s been elected by SNP members and even then barely scraped half (of those that could be arsed to vote). The snp are meant to be left wing.
Corbyn (an actual socialist) got 40 percent of the vote in an actual election from average joes.
whilst Yousef got 53.7% in an actual election from average Jocks
...and Labour came second with 32.7% .
What's you point?

Yousaf a socialist 🤣 You cannot take that nonsense seriously surely
I wouldn't describe Yousaf as a socialist although the policies he is espousing are a lot more socialist than anything from UK Labour.
My point is: in Scotland, you can call yourself a socialist & still get elected.

the SG went against the legislation as it disrespected the prisioner's choice of gender.
It went against the legislation which wasn't law? And which we would not have required that criminal to be placed in a women's jail.

1 minute ago, Neil said:
it wasn't the tory govt who ignored a prisoner's self id @(tho they would have agreed with the sg about it!).
Absolutely nothing to do with the legislation in question. How could it be? It had been blocked by the Tories with your support.

Just now, Neil said:
so sturgeon and scotlanda re inferior as they couldn't get it to work?
they couldn't get it to work because your bigoted Tory government blocked it. With your support.

nearly 50% of snp members voted for a person to the right of the tories on many issues.
And over 50% voted for a man who described himself as a socialist. Up here you can do that and win elections.
"Humza Yousaf will consider introducing wealth taxes if he wins the contest to succeed Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister
The SNP Health Secretary will look at raising cash from land, renewable energy projects and higher income tax for the better off to pay for more generous welfare benefits.
Yousaf, who described himself as a socialist, said the wealth tax plan would be discussed at an anti-poverty summit which would be his first meeting as First Minister."

it'll be interesting to know if there's an abnormal number of newly registered voters?
Outrageous allegation. Imagine encouraging folk to vote?

aren't rthey largely how sturgeon acted? by dismissing self id as meaningless.
If she dismissed self Id as meaningless why is your Tory government blocking it? With your support.

I guess you're part of the fifty percent who could support her for leader
I voted for Humza and have already said I would have considered resigning from the party had Forbes been elected.
That was because of her views on LBGT issues. I don't see that as a left/right issue. I see it as a wrong/right issue.

How many issues exactly, Neil?

there's no way labour would have leadership candidates similar to the snp's rightist-ones
Of course not. They have their own rightist leadership already.

I would have thought Starmer and Yousaf are similar from a political perspective in terms of the right/left spectrum. I don’t think someone as social conservatives views as Forbes would get 40 percent in a labour leadership contest, but the Labour membership is probably to the left of SNP.
& Undoubtedly way to the left of their pale pink leadership.

Close escape for the SNP today. Only a couple of % away from becoming as right wing as Labour.
