Which is the bigger surprise?
a) Johnson broke the rules
Or
b) he will face no consequences whatsoever?

Another spaffer/sturgeon similarity, quitting rather than face their errors.
Johnson quitas an mp. sturgeon has not quit as an MSP.
Johnson was being investigated by a pariamentary committee. Sturgeon has been questioned by the Polis. I am not sure we know if she is a suspect or a witness.
Not wildly similar really.
p s. Sturgeon has yet to launch a petulant, toys out the pram attack on the Police enquiry.

Many thanks Monsignor Bentos. Some interesting concerns raised but no evidence that I can see that the lady in question is making a fortune from it.
They certainly appear to have been effective in raising consciousness/support for NHS trikes & staff which seems to me to be a good thing.
They are clearly too political to be a charity and I would imagine she could make what most of us would consider a decent income if she were to work as whatever sort of doctor she is.
There is virtually no organisation that doesn't have someone calling them out for something on-line. Its the way the world works now.
Just to be clear, I am not saying Everydoctor is perfect or the woman that runs it is doing it for entirely altruistic reasons. I'm simply saying they appear to me to be quite effective in what they do & I have seen no evidence that Dr Julia is making a "fortune" from it.

Meh maybe, but i have no respect for someone who makes a fortune off running a 'not for profit' which doesn't really do anything.
Excuse my ignorance, but can you explain how she has "made a fortune"?

Depends who takes up the mantle. Yousaf has basically thrown himself in front of the flak to protect Strugeon, so if she is charged, the current leadership of the SNP will be in the same sh*t she will be in. Even now, it looks dodgy, so theyll definitely lose some support
Alba are already a busted flush. If Kate Forbes takes over the SNP, theyll lose all the progressives. Wheres the leaders coming up?
Alternatively, Sturgeon doesn't get charged. Yousaf stays on. SNP support recovers (at least partly) support for the greens grows. Kate Forbes stays on the croft and support for indy grows when offered the choice between the amoral Tories and a Labour party that is absolutely terrified to do anything vaguely radical in case they scare the Essex Men & red wall brexiteers.
Either scenario is possible.

In Scotland the sex offenders walk free and get lauded about what might have been.
I think you will find the conviction rate for sexual offences is disgracefully low throughout the UK.

And I reckon I can win Wimbledon. Both are equally likely.

indeed unlike all the other parties, SNP MPs do not accept honours. I think that is quite admirable. Do you disagree?

Scotland lagging behind again.
Not at all. We are miles ahead. We have a police force that investigates alleged dodgy financial goings on from ruling political parties.
It's a shame your police turn a blind eye to "allegedly" much worse financial shenanigans by the Tory UK government. No doubt they'll get their reward in some future honours list.

Should that not be "Story by @pippacrerar and I"?
f**king sloppy journalism.
You are wrong. "Story by @pippacrerar and me" is grammatically correct.

Trump, Johnson and sturgeon have all declared themselves innocent. It must be true. They should be believed.
Both Mr Trump & Mr Johnson have faced charges either in court or in Pariament.
As things stand Ms Sturgeon has been charged with nothing.

Might not be crime of the century but it’s a big deal. If you’d given a few hundred quid which was explicitly said to be ring fenced for Indy ref 2 and then it was spent on other things then you’d be raging. Tbh I’m almost certain that you probs did donate to the fundraiser didn’t you 😂😂
No.

Sorry I misread the bit where it said attended. Thought you were suggesting she was doing this off her own volition.
What exactly did you mean by your post or are you just stating a fact?
My post was a quote from Sturgeon's spokesdude.
I have made no comment on whether I think she is guilty or not as I do not know enough to make such a judgement.
The only opinion I have is that if the SNP raised some money for one purpose then spent it something else legitimate, that's not great but it's hardly the crime of the century.
However if they spent it on cocaine fuelled orgies in their luxury campervan, that is much more serious (and probably much more fun - although in fairness, an orgy with Peter Murrel is probably not making the shortlist for most exciting orgy)

Are the SNP changing course on universal benefits then?
So the papers seem to think - I can't see them withdrawing stuff that's already there - they have made too much of how good things like free prescriptions & no tuition fees are but it looks like they may roll back on stuff they had said they would do - like free school meals for secondary pupils in favour of more targeted anti-poverty measures.
-
What a shame young people have no mainstream party that represents their views. (Guessing a lot of them wouldn't be big fans of tuition fees either)
Shame most of them don't live in Scotland. Eh?
And we complain when they don't vote.

you go straight for the lie.... again, no double standards here from me unless i argue that starmer never promised to eliminate tuition fees.
You are fine with Starmer reneging on a pledge he clearly and explicitly made but claim the Scottish Government should be held to a statement that was never expressed as a pledge.

No one forced the snp to put once in a generation in their white paper.
I assume, since you are now fine with politicians abandoning pledges they most definitely made, that you will stop banging on about this?

I should imagine it's highly unlikely. But assuming she follows the rules, I don't see an issue with it.
Whatever your views on the National, it, at least vaguely, resembles a newspaper and is very clear and upfront about its views.
