Forgot to mention my 8 year old getting to jam with Dirty Projectors. I wasn't actually there but it chuffed the hell out of him and his mother.

I have started to talk in the manner of Bob Log................I can't make a cup of tea without bellowing "IT'S A CUP OF TEA, GODDAMIT".
I think it's beginning to grate with the rest of the family.
The Duke and the King literally brought a tear to my eye and made the hairs on my arms stand up. I don't think I will ever forget that performance.

Danny and the Champions of the World, brilliant and British and would suit EOTR down to the ground.

I don't mind picnic blankets; there is a largish group of us and we take one ourselves, and we don't mind who else stands on it and as soon as the field starts to get crowded we pick it up. It's more a marker for the kids to aim for on the odd occasion they want to converse with their parents than anything else.
I stood on someone twice on Sunday who was lying flat out on the floor and was impossible to see, and then his or her mate gave me a filthy look. I pointed out as politely as I could that if a person was going to lie down in the pitch dark in very crowded field the person was likely to be stepped on. I don't mind people taking up the space, I do mind them refusing to give an inch to allow others to pass by.
As for next year, I would be happy with the exact same line up, which would give me a chance to see all the stuff that I had intended to see, but missed!

I also found the security chaps (as opposed to normal stewards) a bit rude and lumpen and I didn't like them one bit...............found their attitude a bit jarring really. I'm sure it's possible to look hard and still be civil.

Duke and the King are getting a bit too popular for my liking!

Has there been any problem with crime in previous years? Having good cameras nicked from tents and so on and so forth?

The hot cider is the bee's knees, and you can't bring that yourself

Euros Childs!

"Tragic and unforeseen circumstances" according to their website. Sounds a bit grim and now I feel a bit guilty about having my afternoons entertainment as a first thought.
-
Saw Mummers at Wychwood earlier in the year and they were superb (got some ace snaps as well), so I was really looking forward to seeing them again. Euros Childs though, more than makes up for it.

I love the sound of cups crunching underfoot in the evening. Sounds like......festival.

I wouldn't be so cruel as to rub the noses in it. After all, after the last result against them I *almost* felt sorry for them. Not much though

I have it on reasonably decent authority that the Ship in Shaftesbury will be showing the game, about a 15 minute drive away, apparently.
Probably best to phone and check.
