I'm having a listen on Spotify and finding myself utterly indifferent to their charms, so it will be Gruff followed by The Unthanks for me

2 questions.
Will there an increased number of lavatories?
The Wood stage is just a big wind up isn't? It doesn't exist.

If the sun is shining Tinarawen will hit the spot, otherwise Willy Mason. I believe that Futur Primitif is Daniel Lefkowitz, who is unmissable

I thought I liked Beirut, but the more records they make, the more ambivalent I become, and, listening to the new one, I keep wishing they could just add some meat. So, while they were a big attraction to me for my first EOTR years ago, before they withdrew, I'm no longer all that bothered.
The alternative is the Fall. I don't like the Fall, never have. Don't dislike 'em either, they just do nothing for me. My problem is that right from the start, Friday will be brilliant, up until the big boys come on, when I will be happy to have a sit and a warm by the fire.
Trouble is my mate loves the Fall, and as I am not bothered about the opposition, I will feel a duty to support him in reliving his distant youth. So I need to familiarise myself with their shit. Anyone have a playlist of songs that the genius Mancunian might play so I cam learn 'em and growl along?

Having had time to ponder it, I have concluded that as long as they don't run out of beer and pies, I couldn't give a shit.

can you find me something to do while Joanna Newsome is on?

I'm not sure I like the idea of a notice board, part of the charm is having a wander over and seeing what is occurring. Mind you I have only ever caught 2 acts here, Alasdair Roberts band, who were brilliant, and some Icelandic kid whose name escapes me and had to whisper so as not offend Iron and Wine.
Is this why there is nothing else on when Joanna Newsome is on, so that her delicate beauty is not sullied by the noise of others?

Oh dear - that is one of my must sees gone.....not that I am short of them....but it is one of my few "late-in-the-evening" must-sees.
It is weird how many of the bands I really want to see are on at lunchtime or early evening.

So is Daniel Lefkowitz on or not?
Last year he blew my socks off, and I want need to see him again. He owes me a pair of socks, for one thing.

I'll have a drink with anyone! So will my mate, who, unfortunately is completely lacking in social graces, especially when he has escaped the Mrs and kids for a weekend!

I have one thing to say to you Mr. Buddha. Up the Baggies!

While we are at it, can we ban that damn duck on a stick?

Tall people are a pain in the neck. Being a short arse, I am always mindful of not just marching in and blocking someones view……….tall freaks never show such consideration

I'm going to be as fit as a butchers dog with the amount of running between stages I will be doing on Sunday.

I am excited, concerned and apprehensive all at once. Like others, I think one of the wonders of EOTR has been the small size and being amongst kindred spirits. I am slightly worried that the specialness will be diluted.

Will you all please bugger off and watch something else while Caitlin Rose is on?
-
I can't tell you how relieved I am to see that I am not the only fully grown adult to be irrationally chuffed to receive a fridge magnet!

Where the hell is the Wood stage??????

So, do we know where this Wood stage will be yet?

First year I went a took a huge, heavy tent and a small trolley. Tent kept falling the trolley. Took bloody hours to cart it and the other stuff. At least it was entertaining for the sensible folk whizzing past with their pop ups!

Went with the family in 09 and it was great, chilled relaxed, and we were happy to let the kids wander around, convinced that it was relatively safe environment. Didn't take the kids last year and on the Sunday, I commented to my mate that for a festival that is legendary for its chilled vibe, there seemed to be a fair few dickheads about. Not enough to spoil anything, but more than I had noticed the year before. It also struck me that I wouldn't have been so happy for the kids to wander about unsupervised, as the place seemed so much busier.
Still can't wait for this year though…………..I hope Pieminster have taken account of the increased numbers!
Anyone know where this new stage is going to be yet?

Ta for that Hearya tip, it's brilliant innit. Now happily sat here watching Elliot Brood……….the first and best band I saw at EOTR last year.
