  1. possibly the major highlight for me, in a festival of highlights, because they just blew me away. I said on my blog that they seemed to be enjoying it as much as us, and they were!

Have a listen to their podcast the EOTR crowd gets major kudos. It's towrads the end, but I recommend listening to all of it.

I have come to love this band.

  2. I thought security was much more relaxed this year than last year……..the boys and gals didn't look so much like steroid beasts. I wasn't aware of the robbing until now though.

They had a spate of thefts at Wychood for a couple of years, always seemed to be on the first night though, which seemed to be the case here. Maybe people need to be reminded very strongly before the fest that the place is likely to be targeted on the first night and to be extremely, profoundly cautious.

  3. I was disappointed with the Bath Pig, the chaps serving were really enthusiastic about the product which was nice, but the chorizo was very chewy and gristly. The burger from the organic burger place was ace with some high quality halloumi on it, but my meal of the weekend was the goat curry, which was beautifully spiced.

Pie mash and peas for breakfast on Sunday was just the job and sustained me through the rest of the day.

Cafe Dish is my favourite spot on the whole site, the workers there are amazing, and it's really nice just to sit and chill for a bit and still hear the music.

  4. We took our huge bear lake last year, and a table and chairs and a cooker. We never had any trouble finding our spot! Bear in mind it is quite a hike from the car park if you have loads of stuff.

This year it's just me and my mate………a couple of pop ups and that is more or less it. My first ever festival without wife or kids. I am slightly nervous.

  5. To be honest, I'm not all that enthused by Fridays line up but my must sees are Elliot Brood, Trembling Bells and Edwyn Collins, I am absolutely certain that there will be plenty more to enjoy though

Saturday is more difficult and there some excruciating clashes but I will be miffed I don't get to see at least part of all of these:

    IRON & WINE

    THE UNTHANKS

    DEER TICK

    PHOSPHORESCENT

    TIMBER TIMBRE

    VOICE OF THE SEVEN THUNDERS

    BLACK MOUNTAIN

    CAITLIN ROSE

    OH RUIN

    JONNY KEARNEY & LUCY FARRELL

    CITAY

Sunday is just too good and I could happily spend the whole day at any of the stages, but the last 3 acts on the garden stage, for me, are unbeatable, and I can't wait.

Choosing will be easier if the tip tent hasn't improved since last year, in which case I shall give it a swerve.
