Well it will be certainly interesting to see who we do get I reckon we will get the following:
Lily allen
Specials
Franz
Keane
Manics
Bloc party
Killers
Pendulum
Katy perry
Snow patrol
The script
Ting tings
Airbourne toxic event
Elbow
White lies
poss Gaslight anthem
Less than week to go until we find out and then the moaning can start for 5months lol :0p

Yeaa why not..could see them headlin the JJB or high up the 2nd stage again.... were rockin last time!
-
i love elbow. beautiful music. not bothered if they dont headline just as long as they have a good slot. will have my reefa ready for that one. just hope they play big time. not sure where i would want them to play. would like the intimacy of the jjb but it could get really rammed and be a sweaty uncomfortable pit.
hopefully this year we shall have sun and they play at sunset

Aren’t you bunch just encouraging the same boring cycle?
Where bands play the every other year?.
If the organisers check this site, they’d think that they were doing everything right.
It’s becoming dull.
-
Think we might see Athlete as well...but couldn't be fussed either way to be honest. And Basement Jaxx.
-
I think theres potentially enough room to fit them all in some are not as big as being made out. The Enemy would only play 4th from top on mainstage, or 2nd from top C4, maybe even lower theyre hardly being hyped
Main Stage
Oasis
Kasabian
The Enemy
The Killers
Razorlight
Franz Ferdinand
C4
Snow Patrol
Faithless
Bloc Party
JJB
Keane
Could be close I reckon...but I reckon Specials will play before The Killers (with Keane before the Specials)...Franz & Bloc Party as C4 headliners, Razorlight sitting at home looking at themselves in the mirror and weeping gently into their JD & Coke...
-
I hope so...maybe Elbow/Doves in JJB or Channel 4 stage?? Don't think Scissor Sisters would play second on main stage anymore...
-
yeah it's been heading downhill last 3 years...sad times
-
Since The Saturdays have had a successful year, do you think they'll do festivals?
Joss Stone is touring so do you think she'll play at v?
-
Not a fan but saw them when they headlined (yeah..I know...WTF was that about!?!?) a few years and they were pretty entertaining...
-
Think we can add Doves & Elbow as well...both touring and doing the rounds and haven't done V for a while...if we get them, Nick Cave, SFA & FLips I'd be well happy. If Public Enemy played like somebody suggested on another thread, it'd be pretty perfect for me (except for the headliners!)
Boy Least Likely To anyone?
-
Nick Cave I reckon...playing Oxegen & T In The Park so bound to do a couple in England...reckon Glasto and V...plus SFA's and Flaming Lips
Is it just me...or are the bands that have been rumoured already suggest we're in for quite a strong line-up???
-
to be fair, I'm amazed more festivals don't do it this way...it cuts down a lot on people paying over the odds on ebay etc...its a great idea
-
I'm not feeling the love this year! Wheres the love!??!?! It sounds like V's gonna be like a war zone this year...(and not even one with a good soundtrack like Vietnam...)
If you've bought tickets and ain't happy with the headliners flog 'em...if you've not bought them and you're not happy with the line-up, don't buy 'em...if you've haven't bought them and are happy with the line-up, buy some and have a great weekend...I was hoping for the Arctics and REM so I haven't got what I want either, but I know that when its 10.30 on the Sunday and I'm with my mates singing along with 'Live Forever' its gonna be frickin' sweet...
I look forward to this all year...don't spoil it you tarts!
-
you'll do anything to make yourself appear more loaded than you are, eh?
-
I don't understand the thinking that there's a finite group of headliners that seems to be 'The Foos, Chilis, Killers, Arctics, Greenday, Radiohead' and the other handful of names that have had the monopoly on the UK fests over the past few years. There are PLENTY of bands that have the requisite popularity (enough to sell out a UK arena tour quickly seems to be the measuring stick) to headline & be a genuine surprise. R&L are rumoured to have KOL & the Arctics, again, absolute w*nk. KOL will be playing after their 2nd arena tour of their latest album & played all the fests last year too & the Arctics have 2 albums that they've absolutely toured the shit out of (pretty much the same as The Killers). If you're a big Killers or AM fan you've had LOADS of chances to see those bands. IMO a festie headliner should be someone you rarely get a chance to see....for that reason alone Glasto have come up trumps 2 years on the trot by pulling out Jay-Z & this years rumours of Springsteen, Neil Young & Blur. Last year R&L had Rage & Metallica which was pretty special but it would've lost all it's shine if noth acts had just toured the f**k out of the UK prior to their appearance.
-
To just book them because they're available shows a massive lack of imagination.
Errr....they can't book bands who aren't available though...thats just unrealistic! Headliners are just thin on the ground this year...most of 'em are having a break...
-
Coldplay won't be playing
That being said that other site now has the following down
MGMT (Rumour)
Lightspeed Champion (Strong Rumour)
Bloc Party (Strong Rumour)
Pendulum (Strong Rumour)
Coldplay (Strong Rumour)
Blur (Strong Rumour)
Franz Ferdinand (Rumour)
Kasabian (Rumour)
-
Oasis and The Killers are the headliners.
-
...and Blur have dropped off completely!
Not too bad...although they've probably had to pay Oasis so much to headline that the rest of the line ups will suffer...
Ha...I'd be well annoyed if I'd bought tickets for the Oasis gigs in the summer mind...you've got exactly the same line-up!
-
Don't mind Oasis as a headliner it's just the shit that comes to watch them
The difference in Punter between the Saturday and the Sunday in 05 stuck out a like a sore thumb.
-
Blur
in V Festival
just noticed blur have been relegated to just a rumour now, down from strong rumour.got a feeling that guy who said its definitely oasis and the killers as headliners could be right you know....
would fit in with kasabian TBC as well as they would play under oasis.
-
And now they're a TBC.
I waited to answer this post cos I knew I had more info coming, and the info I now have says they're defo playing. I don't have any info on which slot tho.
-
Overrated scenester shite that would've disappeared without a trace if they weren't sucking off the NME.
