  1. wow Funeral for a friend have fallen abit in size

you would have though clashing Danzig with System and clashing Funeral with def leppard would have made more sence

    but very good announcement

i am warming to the thought of the Darkness to be honest, thought id hate it but chillin with a beer singalong might be quite fun

and Klavertec (or how ever you spell it) are brilliant

  2. as long as your in camping you should be fine with booze

as you can just walk past the main enterance if you show your wristband.

we were always walking in with cans.

and then there are no checks when you go from camping to arena so twas easy

not sure if im going this year though, im leaning towards Pukklepop or Eurockenees (or how ever you spell it)

  3. its very fun

the crowd doesnt go mental all the time..... but Qotsa last year was the best time ive seen them and the crowd were up for it!

no problems with bringing in booze.... even from camping to arena, i walked in about 8 times with 6 packs etc

    no camp fires though

the two worst things ..... the rain last year spoiling arcade fires set! put a fecking roof on the main stage

and the amount of flyers thrown at you!

but free Ben and Jerrys last years was pretty good :P

oh and there was a blonde guitar hero xbox girl who got alot of attention

  4. i could see them underneath Alice Cooper on the Sat.... 2nd stage is big enough

and they would clash with Avengend Sevenfold who would get a big enough crowd to avoid over crowding

    could work?

    so in an ideal world

Pearl Jam / System Of A Down / Linkin Park

    Velvet Revolver / A7X / B4MV

Alterbridge / Machine Head / Disturbed

Pendulum / Alice Cooper / Rob Zombie

Korn / The Darkness / The Cult

    Just wishful thinking

  5. this opeining one campsite after the other lark..... if someone has set my tent up on the weds and i turn up on thurs will i be able to get to it or will i be ferried to another campsite.

and say i decide to take my tent and not camp with the others how easy is it once they move me to one campsite to then move to another and camp there?

    info would be much appreiceted!

    Ta

  6. went last year! brilliant festival! and by far the best views and scenery of any festival in the world i imagine! views of the jungfrau are unbelivable and if you can try and get to the top of it! highest point anyone can get in europe by train

last year we flew to Zurich and stayed ther a couple of nights as i have swiss cousins then headed down to luzern. really really easy. and you can get flights for around 60 quid if your lucky. Luton-Zurich is usually the cheapest

campsite opens at 4 on the thursday. make sure you dont fall for the trap and go to the enterance right in front of you but walk a bit further up as thats the main enterence! i had to queue for 2 hours in the hottest sun ive expericed!

and as your are very high above see level take alot of sun cream cos i burnt like a bitch and had to get first aid as i was close to feinting! the weather is so hot and there is no shade as its on an old airfield! drank more water than beer (shocking) but also pack for rain cos in the matter of seconds on the last night clouds came in really quick over the mountains and its poured like ive never seen it before!

beer is ok priced! 6or 7 SF but you get 2F back if you return the cup

also for every full rubbish bag you get 10 SF back! which is a very good deal!

Atmosphere is great lots of fun and banter with the swiss locals who couldnt believe english people came over for the fest!

the mainstage sound is brilliant too! Faith no more were incredible last year!

Interlaken is also about 20 minutes walk away so quite easy to get too if you want to do some shopping etc for food. There is a co-op rite outside the trainstation which has everything.

Only expect 40 bands playing but for about 90 quid its brilliant! headliners are usually very big bands (barring fecking Nightwish last year) last year was very metal but it changes as the year before was more rock

i may have gone on a bit but hope i helped a bit

  7. Shinedown announced for the fest im going to running on the same weekend as download so expect them too

im still getting over the disapointment of nightwish being huge in europe and beng able to headline! ah well might as well get drunk and look at the mountains that night!

Go to greenfield fest home page ... imagaine nightwish fnm staind and shinedown on the list of bands and have a look at the most random band announced so far ... ( the wombats bet they are thinking what the hell have we done)

  8. Staind and nightwish have just been announced for the fest im going to in switzerland called greenfield along with faith no more

as most of the bands playing are the same at both fests im guessing they are pretty much assured

shame Nightwish are headlining the fest im going to it seems - didnt want that wouldnt mind them lower down but wasting a headliner slot ughh
