  1. We have been recieving collisions of the same magnitude as will be recreated in the LHC for billions of years hear on earth as some of the very highest energy comic rays that hit the upper atmosphere are traveling at the same speeds the LHC will recreate. The difference is that when a proton travelling at that speed hits something in the upper atmosphere it exists for nanoseconds before breaking up (like say a higgs boson), in the LHC the particles ejected from the breakup of the particle will be recorded and measured.

  2. SA are on 105 /4 Harmison sounds like he is leathal out there and has two of them.

Edited 118 /5. Anderson now has two. The air here in south London is very heavy so the ball will be moving through the air, but the English bowlers are taking advantage of this.

  3. To be fair to KP he is almost the only guarenteed selection in the current england set up. OK him, Cook and Pannaser are the only trhee who are really sure of there test places.

  4. A real dog fighting innings from Collingwood and Pietersen is just being Pietersen. Top test crickit with Enlgand clawing there way back into the test after losing three wickets while still behind.

  5. It is a good day for batsmen, it's just that we're sadly lacking in that department at the moment (bar Cook, Bell and Broad).
After the New Zealand tets I thought England looked a decent outfit. Nothing flash but decent unit all the same. The saffies are just ripping them to pieces.
  6. Seems the English batting has been flatted on a featherbed. They will be lucky to get to 230 from here it seems. Day one and an innings defeat seems on the cards. They will need to pull there socks up by some amount if they are to get into this test match.

  7. i really dont udnerstand south africa's comments about trying to start getting the team ready for the ashes now and getting a young team together, the ashes are only next year Harmisson will easy figure if he is firing surely
Micky Arthur is trying psycological games. Watching a Saffie try to be subtle is like watching an elephant tap dance. Hardly the new Alex Ferguson is he.
  8. Goddamit I loved that Knock. It was just ace. Sunburned in Scotland FTW. I always get the feeling the musicians have so much passion for the music and often very talented. Its often the little bands Ive never heard of who can be captivating. The Peat Bog Faeries proved that you can be influced by traditional scottish music without sounding like Andy Stewart or the like.

Adding to the list of artists posted by Owly Ill add Orchestra del Sol who were pretty demned good in my opinion.

AND if you ever get the chance walk up the hill to the top. Especialy through the forest just above the shielling tent (but leave no trace if you do).

  9. I have no problem with Kanye as an artist, but I just think that overtly pop artists will just do more to kill the diversity of the crowd. It will only increase the numbers of people who will be trying to get tickets to see the big two or three acts and not give a monkeys about the more ecclectic sounds at the festival.

A festival that used to thrive on diversity and underground culture is has become overwhelmed by the mainstream crowds out to "do Glasto". The vibe was dead last year compaired to other years (and no it was not just the rain it rain at many other Glastonburies and other festivals last year without killing the vibe). It still is a great festival in terms of the music on offer but that is almost as far as it goes these days.

The vibe at smaller festivals is so way better.

  10. Its was beyond a joke. Me and my mate pitched up to sit in the sun and get some cider on the Weds and just sacked it off due to overcrowding. We wanted some alcohol and a sit down, not a crushing scrum.

  11. Spiral at Glade last year was very cool as well, although the music was just too chilled. Even for a chillout zone in a gurners paradise. See no reason for it not too be back as the dance village does need realy need it. Like any club somewhere less hectic.
