    Thanks wetwipes!

Sadly I had asked him to do this already (before yesterday's sale) but he clearly lied when he told me he did... frustrating!

He has now sent me his registration confimration email which lists his postcode as 'Co. Down'.

Hoping the full stop won't be an issue.

So you've all gotta put Co. Down in as his postcode or it will fail again.  The computer needs to see an EXACT match

  2. @northernringo   You have GOT to get your mate to check exactly what they put in their registration.

Your mate can do that with https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/registration/lookup  You find the registration lookup under the general ticket info.  Your mate puts in their email address, and they should get back an email with the registration number and postcode that matches that registration.

Mate then passes that to all your group to enter into your spread sheets , and if you get lucky on Sunday THAT looked up post code, HOWEVER IT APPEARS on the looked up registration, is what you enter as their postcode.

The postcode must match the registration number as far as the computer is concerned- it's as simple as that.

    Good luck

If 2015 is anything to go by, I’ll start feeling better when I can watch it on iplayer and see people having an amazing time. I’ll find a person in each crowd who looks like they are having the most amazing time and I’ll decide that they got “my” ticket and that will be a good thing.

I thought this was such a beautiful thing to say!

I made a decision not to try for tickets this year (in recent years I found it very stressful and expensive coming from Ireland) but most of my mates didn't get tickets anyway.

I watched on TV (no iPlayer access in Ireland) drinking lager and wearing ridiculously hippy clothes bought at Glastonbury in years past.  Did obsess a bit about Glastonburys past but it's them that I miss. Would have liked to see IICON stage.  Can't say I missed the heat - hopeless in it and have had to retire to tented acts in the past. Crowds looked IMMENSE on telly.

Hope all the ticketless survived the weekend and that all the ticketed had the time of their lives. ✌️?

I always sleep with some shorts on and my phone in one buttoned up pocket and wallet in another so it'd actually be a mugging if they managed to get those!

One bloke in the tent next to me that was robbed had his jeans pocket razored off him as he slept.  Just sayin'

  5. @uscore It's just not going to happen. It has never happened in all of the (crazy) years of the festival  All the inside of the tent is lined with steel barriers. Also, the festival sure ain't gonna cover your losses if your stuff is nicked from your tent, so lockups always the safer option!

  6. Just a reminder to people - theft still occurs. Often in the first few days of the festival but I myself have camped next door to folk that had £800 stolen on a Saturday night while they were sleeping (and snoring!) in Kidney Mead at Glastonbury a few years back.

I had an aversion to the lock ups for years. Had some odd idea about them. But they are run by lovely people 24 hours a day, it's free - you can throw them a donation -  and have apparently never lost an item. In recent years as soon as I pitch up, I put all my precious documents/cards including ticket in, and lots of cash money, and take a phone photo of the "receipts". Then all I have to worry about is to retrieve everything before 12 noon on Monday - a phone reminder is good!! You can access your cash during the festival, remove some and get a new ticket for the remaining (sealed envelope) amount.

Also a good idea, when you arrive and pitch up, is to "designer distress" your belongings in your tent. Strew them all around and don't make it easy for someone to just drag out your rucksack.

Have a beautiful, safe, happy festival, all of you. My first time not going since 1994 but 20 Glastonbury festivals seems a good number to halt at (especially as my username wetwipes are now environmental spawn of the devil ?)   I'll be watching ye all ont'elly ✌️☮️❤️

  7. Paper soap revolutionised my festival goings. After decades of Glasto-going and never having heard of such a concept, I got a "festival kit" present from a friend with them in it. SO much better for cleaning your hands after loos than sanitiser gel. Rub your hands together with a sheet or two under running water and it dissolves into lather. Tiny pack you can carry in a bumbag.  "Cheeky Chimp Paper Soap" will find them for you on eBay and the likes.

  8. I thought The Jacksons were brilliant (I'm not a huge fan) but the sound at West Holts was appalling for them. Was on left side between LOUD stall & soundstage - kept moving around as people yakking was actually drowning out the sound. Went right to the back of the field on the left (near Ghandis Flip Flop) for the last number and sound was better there - v. odd

Also went to west holts on Sunday to see Shaggy & sound was shockingly bad - tried a number of different areas to little avail. Gave up, left and went to a ( non-existent, as it turned out) gig in the Bimble inn instead - not a happy bunny.

  9. Went to The Underground Piano Bar for the first time ever on Saturday night. Very impressive structure, not so sure about the entertainment.

Saw a gazillion seagulls feasting on William's Green at 5 in the morning (*I* blame the TV coverage for making the festival so popular with them - I don't remember seagulls in the 1990s).

Washed my hair at Glastonbury Festival for the first time ever, been going since 1994. It was Monday morning, my hair had gone Wurzel Gummidge like, & I was supposed to meet a civilian friend in Bristol for lunch. She cancelled as I got on the bus - sigh

Went up to the Glastonbury sign for the first time ever - it's patchwork know.

Finally got to see Prof Alice Roberts in the Crow's nest. 3 years ago....I forgot. 2 years ago, she clashed with Patti Smith. Last year I left the Pyramid Stage an hour b4 her 3 pm talk, slogged 3/4 of an hour on muddy slow-moving tracks to the Crow's Nest, only to find she'd finished precisely as I arrived. Her talk had been put back an hour - arrrgh.

Had no smoke but passive smoke - sob.

  10. Just a tip for those who are leaving stuff in the lockups for the duration of the festival.  As well as taking a photo, put a reminder on your phone to pick up on the last day.  As I'm now coming from Ireland, arriving Bristol airport and finding passport, flight ticket etc have been left behind would be a bit of a nightmare.  They do close up around midday (or earlier? - don't risk it) on the Monday.

  11. Hot weather advice for the women / men who like jewellery.  Don't wear anything made of cheap metal with sunscreen - you and your clothing will be rendered rust orange. White clothing and sunscreen is generally a bad mix.  And it doesn't come off clothing in the wash - you may end up doing weird alchemy experiments with lemon juice and sunshine before slinging them in the washing machine.

I was neck-rusted at  last year's festival when using a standard Boots moisturiser with SPF 15 - it wasn't even sunny!!

Tried to watch Bombay BC in a rammed JP tent in 2010. Lasted about 5 mins due to the heat in there!

I got in - it was the 15 mins standing in the sun in the crush outside that nearly killed me.  I watched a LOT of bands in the John Peel that day...
