Ah OK. I think theyre still very much in inflation and cost-of-living-crisis mode this year too though.
I think you'll be surprised. Obviously i don't know all of the ins and outs, but i don't think they are cutting any corners this year, and want to make it bigger and better.

Where was this? Or this just what you're getting from your sources?
Leftfield have it listed on their tour merchandise.
i've not seen full line up yet, but the acts I do know is going to make it a very strong year....- 2

It’s not Pulp.
Nick tweeted to say he knew nothing about the rumoured reunion last year, so I’m not sure you can 100% rule them out because of that tweet

Nick Banks (Pulp drummer) has just tweeted that he knows nothing of a band called The Churnups…
Make of that what you will

Just out of interest why do you feel the need to do this at all?
Wouldn't be even more fun/exciting if "secret sets" were actually secret
In this day and age, secret sets are never secret, so we just thought it would be a good way to try and help fans of acts get an early heads up to try and get to see them.

Have the Secret Glasto team got volunteers running it this year?
I think we are sorted. I'm not running it for the first time in 3 festivals as i'll be in Ibiza for a wedding, but we have a new volunteer, and we will all chip in as and when we need to.
Just to echo what @august1 was saying above. We take the health and safety side of things very seriously and usually tweet a more cryptic clue earlier in the day to allow fans of the act to get an early heads up. we follow that with a confirmation which is usually so close to stage time that if you aren't close to the area you would struggle to get there. As mentioned, we didn't tweet about Paulo Nutini last year, as could see the issues it would cause.

Few snippets of line up coming out with Leftfield confirming

Releasing the details on one of the districts today. Doesn’t sound like we’re getting any line up until about a week before again
Line up definitely isn't getting released until week before.

It was basically the storyline, each area could be completed and you'd be awarded a card for doing so. You have to talk to the actors to try and piece together what's going on. I only completed one area as it can only be done during the day and I was struggling with the heat too much to walk around all day
Personally I think it's too confusing and it should be a bit clearer as to what is happening/what you need to do
Yeah, it's basically a secret storyline/mission that you have to interact with the actors over. You can end up in some weird and wonderful places that aren't usually accessible unless you have completed the earlier tasks you are given.

What does that mean? Are they going to announce the closing act on the 6th January?
It means the tune that featured in this years closing ceremony is going to get released on the 6th of January.

I’m bringing a water gun this year
I had my two young sons on site this year for Saturday afternoon, and we had a push buggy for them to make getting around easier. They both had little water guns, and i had to explain to them that today is the only day that you can go and spray adults with water guns and get away with it! 😁

definitely could still do it
not sure they'd want to spend so much money on him though vs a lot of other options
This is my point. The same thing happened around an electronic duo who have become very big in recent years. There comes a point where Boomtown have to think do we really want to blow a lot of our budget on one act.
Suppose the small caveat on this is we don't know how the live nation thing will pan out. I have no idea if that will make the budget bigger, or if it will make touring artists more likely to perform at Boomtown -

If I believe it hard enough could we get Fred again headlining this
I've not heard anything, but would think his Boomtown ship might have sailed by now, as his management will have put his fee up considerably due to his recent success. Suppose it's still a possibility

Crew e-mail that's just gone out states they sold over 50% of tickets in first 24 hours of ticket sales, which is their best ever sale. Also states that layout of festival will be the same next year as it was this year, but with a few tweaks and minor additions.

In terms of setlist I'd expect it be mainly taken from His n Hers and Different Class with the big hitters from This Is Hardcore and maybe the odd We Love Life and/or pre HnH song thrown in.
This is what i'm expecting. Similar to the last reunion. Although I did wonder if it might be more This Is Hardcore heavy as they seem to be pushing the fact it's the 25 year anniversary in some of the announcements.
Is it too early to do dream setlists? 😁 -

I cant fathom how anyone enjoyed that weather. I spent all of the Friday in the shade and still managed to get heatstroke. Most of the indoor venues were too hot to stay in, couldnt do any storyline.
This has taken some thinking... but I would genuinely have preferred rain for 4 days straight.
I kind of agree with you. I spent the Friday and Saturday just chasing shade and longing for the sun to go down. I also found that everyone seemed shattered by 4am, which usually isn't the case. I think the same weather but mid 20's rather than mid 30's would be perfect.

How much are Glastonbury tickets this year? I can’t see it being posted anywhere, unless I’m being thick!

Chapter 13.
Chapter 2 implies that this year was their first go at getting this right when it's been impossibly difficult for years.
Ahh the Boomtown prophet of doom has returned 😁 Guessing you're chomping at the bit to get your ticket later....

Boomtown Chapter 2: The Twin Trials
in Boomtown Fair
Posted · Edited by mr flow
Boomtown socials have announced they have a huge closing artist on the Sunday booked.
I'm not going to say who it is, but I think there will be some very happy people based on peoples most requested artists over the years .
